My wife had a good stay at the Sunnybank House. Everything went as we expected. Will come back again if needed. I think it could do with a couple more caring staff.

First impressions here good and this continued, the carers were attentive and responsive. However, some of the equipment is seeing its age - lifts are prone to failure which is frustrating to residents. Overall I look forward to spending my final years here (currently 87 years). My wife and I are very happy here. With a few tweaks here and there it can go from excellent to superb. Will recommend to everyone. The cleanliness and attentive staff are beyond reproach, always room for improvement. As above highly recommend.

We do appreciate your comments and as you are aware we are having lots of refurbishments, decorating and new furniture, now having been delivered. We have had regular servicing and maintenance on much of our equipment recently and we are so pleased to have been able to have two lifts to enable all...

It has been over six months since my previous review and my mother-in-law, who moved in last July, continues to tell me how lucky she is to be in such a lovely home. My wife and I have visited my mother-in-law one to two times a week every week since she has been there and every time we visited we have always been so welcomed by all staff, from the staff on reception to all the blue coats (that's what she calls them!), caring staff, plus the senior activity coordinator and the activities team. This whole experience, which was life-changing for my mother-in-law, could not have gone any better and we always leave with a contented feeling that she is so well cared for and seems very happy. She also really enjoys the activities, especially the singing events. Well done to all at Sunnybank House.

The home is always welcoming, it's clean and tidy etc but more importantly, the staff always say hello by name, they know who I've come to visit and always speak directly with name to my dad. Always people about, staff and residents which gives the home a 'buzz'.

My husband has clearly been very happy here and well looked after. He tells me that everyone has been really friendly and helpful. He has always spoken positively when I have spoken on the phone. He has enjoyed the food and activities. They have helped with showing him photos of my trip as well as being reassuring about his stay here. As a result, he is happy to return, possibly for a longer stay! Very friendly atmosphere.

A wonderful place for all to be in; residents, carers, volunteers, staff and etc. My mother-in-law refers to it as 'the hotel', I agree. A wonderful place to be. The care is excellent and professional. The atmosphere is happy and friendly and it is a place where the residents are able to make friends and enjoy the community there. With good fortune, I look forward to coming here myself in the future, as long as it stays as good as it is!

I have only been here for six days so far but have found the treatment exceptional. My mother moved into Sunnybank six weeks ago and all the staff have made a huge effort to help her settle. Mum is 100 and has very limited sight and arrived with a ‘fresh’ fractured wrist, which has added to her care needs.

I’m very happy with the care and overall support Mum is receiving.

My mother recently passed away but was a resident at Sunnybank House Care Home, where she received top-class care from a first-class team who gives thier all day-in-day-out.
Nothing was too much trouble; the dedication and commitment shown by everybody are just exemplary, and the ambience created is just one family.

It is simply a top care home whose quality of services is excellent.

When my dad moved in at Sunnybank, he was made to feel welcome and settled in very quickly. The staff got to know him well, and he was encouraged to take part in suitable activities. As his health deteriorated over several months, the staff were very efficient at planning and implementing changes to his care needs, monitoring him closely. Into his final few weeks, the staff worked with the local GP and community nursing to deliver the care he needed. In his final days, my wife and I were welcomed into the home to be with Dad full-time and were well looked after by the busy team.

My mother went to Sunnybank at the end of July after several weeks in the hospital following an emergency operation. The admissions advisor was extremely helpful in finding my mother a suitable place when we realised that she would not be well enough to return to her own home because she needed 24-hour care available. We were impressed when we visited the home and found the atmosphere warm and welcoming, the staff friendly, and the residents looked happy and content.
My mother was very well cared for during her stay at Sunnybank, which sadly was shorter than we had expected. All the staff were excellent and very caring, making sure my mother was comfortable and all her needs and wishes were met.

Thank you to all at Sunnybank House.

What I Do:

As General Manager of Sunnybank House, it’s my absolute pleasure to welcome you to our home. I work closely with every department to ensure we deliver an exceptional experience for all our residents, rooted in kindness, quality, and a shared commitment to excellence.

You’ll often find me out and about in the home, engaging with residents, listening to their feedback, and collaborating on new ideas that help us continue to grow and improve. I’m also deeply passionate about team development, working side by side with my Sunnybank colleagues to ensure they feel empowered, supported, and inspired to provide the best possible care.

My Experience:

My journey in care began at age 15, washing dishes in my local nursing home—and I’ve never looked back. That early experience sparked a lasting passion for supporting others and set me on a path of learning and leadership.

Since then, I’ve embraced every opportunity to grow, working in every role within the home—including the occasional stint in the kitchen! I’ve held leadership positions in both small and large organisations at home, regional, and operational levels. But my heart belongs to home management, where I can be part of residents’ lives and see the impact of meaningful care each and every day.

About Me:

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me staying active at the gym, unwinding at the cinema, or enjoying peaceful hours by the water with a fishing rod in hand.

My Role: I joined Cinnamon in September 2022 and proudly serve as Deputy Manager at Sunnybank House. In this role, I support the smooth day-to-day running of the home, making sure the needs, wishes, and preferences of both residents and their families are always heard and respected.

My Experience: With a strong background in dementia care, I’ve completed extensive training in supporting individuals living with dementia. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and am currently working toward my Level 5. I’m passionate about helping team members grow and thrive, and I take great satisfaction in coaching and supporting staff to reach their full potential.

About Me: Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family, catching up with friends, and simply unwinding in good company.

What I do

As the home admissions advisor at Sunnybank, I’m here to support and advise potential residents and their loved ones through this important decision. I guide people through the admissions journey at a pace that feels comfortable, answering questions and helping everyone feel confident and supported. I work closely with the team to make each transition into Sunnybank House as smooth and personal as possible.

My experience

With over 10 years’ experience in the wedding industry, I’ve enjoyed supporting people through some of life’s most emotional, exciting, and occasionally unpredictable moments with a friendly smile and the belief that a little kindness goes a very long way. I enjoy helping people feel at ease, understanding their choices clearly, and feeling confident in the decisions ahead.

About me

I’m married with three teenagers, which means I’m highly trained in diplomacy, patience, and mastering the art of being heard over headphones. When I’m not helping families settle into Sunnybank House, you’ll usually find me enjoying live music or at home indulging in my love of wine and cheese!

What I Do

I’m the Lead Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coordinator here at Sunnybank House. I work closely with my team to provide our residents with a varied and exciting diary of activities, week after week.
