View Full Details of Fremantle CourtI am pleased to say that my parents received exemplary care during their time at Fremantle Court. Mum was carefully looked after throughout her stay and staff were always patient and kind. She gradually lost all appetite as part of her Alzheimer's but the carers were endlessly inventive, working out what she liked and helping her eat and enjoy food for as long as possible. By the end of her life, she was not at all interested in food and staff respected her wishes whilst making sure she stayed hydrated and ate if and when she wanted to. I was always kept informed about her health and what was happening, I don't think I could have chosen a better place. My Dad went in at the same time as Mum because of his dementia. He too received care of the highest standard. He joined in many of the activities, especially anything sporty. As his dementia progressed, he had to move to a different wing and this was handled with care. I recommend Fremantle Court wholeheartedly.
Dad has now been at Fremantle Court for over a month. I have been blown away by the standard of care that he has received. The support the staff give him is wonderful, they are keen to make him as comfortable as possible and to support him in maintaining the little independence he now has left.
My husband, who had Alzheimer's was a resident at Fremantle Court for 19 months until his death. I felt very comfortable that he was well cared for and safe the whole time. He was not always easy to deal with but the staff coped very well and when I had a small issue it was dealt with quickly and to my satisfaction. My only wish was that he would have had more opportunities to be outside. If I did not take him out he was inside constantly.
My wife, of 66, was a resident at Fremantle Court for the last 20 months of her life. On her last evening, she was comatose. During the night, the nurse called the doctor, who sent her to hospital. I was with her at 7:50 AM, still comatose and in no pain. She died at 8 AM. On admission to Fremantle, my wife was entirely lacking in mobility, was totally incontinent and had mild dementia. Swallowing food was a problem. I saw her almost every day. She was extremely fortunate. She could not have been more carefully or more lovingly cared for and nursed. My family and I have lots of gratitude to everyone who works at Fremantle - the management, the cleaning & gardening staff, the maintenance, the carers, nurses, doctors - they all demonstrated a commitment to the welfare & happiness of the residents.
All staff are very caring, kind, courteous and treat patients with dignity. I have not ticked the box for food/drink because I have not experience of that.
12 nights respite in Hartwell (2nd visit). Very friendly, welcoming and helpful reception on arrival. Carers are happy friendly throughout my stay very helpful. Residents seemed happy throughout. Good atmosphere. Deputy Manager welcoming - no interaction with the manager who it would have been nice to say "hello" as a new comer that day. Considering full time care one day - keep putting it off.
My mother has settled in very well. She enjoys the company of the other residents and appreciates the care she gets from the staff. Her room is adequate, and I think that when the weather improves, she will enjoy getting out in the gardens for the fresh air. She loves the activities, especially the singing and keeping fit. The staff are very helpful and eager to help solve any queries I raise. It makes me feel happy that mum is enjoying being part of a friendly home.
The home is modern, rooms are a good size, and there is plenty of communal space. The staff are chatty and loving as well as efficient. Certain things drop off the radar screen, however despite written and verbal requests which is disappointing. We would have hoped for a higher level of pro activity notwithstanding the stubborn nature of the resident in question.
I now have 3 elderly relatives in this home, one in dementia, one in nursing and one in residential. My mother in residential has been there nearly two years, my in laws have recently moved in. At all times I have found the care home to be of the highest standard. With great staff in all departments placing the needs of their residents above everything else. I would not hesitate to recommend Freemantle court to anyone requiring any form of residential care or respite care.
The staff are kind and caring and work extremely hard to make mum's life as happy and stress-free as possible. Everyone knows her name and makes time to talk to her, not only on her wing but wherever she is. If we have any worries staff/management are happy to discuss. We had a problem with one member of staff and management took our concern seriously and they dealt with it promptly.
A dear friend of mine has been admitted to this beautiful care home it is so lovely friendly clean the gardens are gorgeous it is so tranquil and the staff is amazing. Thank you for keeping her happy and calm and looking after her.
Would be good to have more continuity of staff, some staff excellent, others less so. My mother dislikes much of the food.
On arrival, I was shown to my room, the daily procedure was explained, and the arrangements were made for assistance with my morning shower. The carers did my eye drops 4 times a day. They always found me at the appointed time and treated me with care and kindness. Activities laid on in the morning and afternoon were managed in a friendly happy manner with attention to those who needed assistance. Areas were clean and well cared for. Meals were at set times many having them in their room. Meals are ordered in advance and alternatives are available. Many areas inside and outside where you can relax and a TV lounge. The staff were always kind, patient and available. They checked on you when you were in your room and asked if you required a drink or snack, and also during the night to check if you were okay. Alarms are fitted in your room to call for assistance. Visitors are always welcome and if able could be taken out with friends. They work hard.
My dad who is 93 was at Freemantle Court for Restbite care for 3 weeks after a fall at home and time in hospital. The Care management team were very professional and great care and attention was given to Dad while he convalesced at the home. He was made to feel at home from the minute he set foot through the front door. His room was immaculately clean with a very well-designed bathroom. He received excellent care from all the staff who provided different aspects of his care needs. Staff were kind, well trained and very knowledgeable as to what he needed to gain good health again. He enjoyed well-balanced nutritious meals and enjoyed conversations with the chef who catered to any special dietary requests. He was very happy during his restbite time and wasn't keen to leave. The family were made extremely welcome. I couldn't find fault with any aspect of his short stay. He missed everyone on his return home. Many thanks to all the staff at this wonderful care home.
My brother has been in your care home for several weeks now we have found the home to be excellent in all aspects. The staff and management are first class - the activities are also excellent. My brother has settled in well, participates in activities and tells us the food is very good. We are pleased we made the decision to place him in Fremantle Court.
I needed respite care in the Henley Wing. The care I received during my stay was first class and all these staff were very friendly and kind at all times, and so very glad I chose Fremantle Court, as my previous experience at another care home was shocking!
My mother receives excellent care from permanent staff, some of whom are exemplary. However, agency staff are useless. I feel confident in having my mother reside at Fremantle Court.
Mum sadly passed a few days ago after a year of being wonderfully cared for at Fremantle. The staff was always friendly and helpful, particularly for us, those in reception who greet visitors so cheerfully, the home manager who runs the home so very well and makes an effort to know the individual residents, the wonderful nurses and carers on Waddesden and the home's hairdresser. All work so hard to make the residents and their visitors comfortable. In these last few difficult weeks, they could not have been kinder or more helpful. We can't thank them enough.
Mum seems very happy in her new home. If she is happy, so are we. Mum has dementia, her particular needs seem to be well catered for. Whenever we visit the staff are welcoming, professional and caring. Fremantle Court has exceeded our expectations.
Very clean throughout the building. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Whenever we have asked staff about queries with regards to my mother-in-law we always get feedback and any concerns are dealt with in a very pleasant and helpful manner. The services offered are also very good, especially the activities which my mother-in-law enjoys very much.
