View Full Details of Willows Care HomeI cannot fault any aspect of Willows care home. The home, the staff are 1st class. If I ever require a care home for myself, this is where I will come.
Bright and clean, much larger inside than expected and a private gated car park for visitors. Very secure, sign in facility upon entry, main doorways and lifts are security accessed (by fob). Friendly reception staff and a visitors area for a drink and a chat. Lovely landscaped garden, with benches and tables, safe and peaceful. A good staff to resident ratio and the various rooms are all bright and cozy. Basic furniture provided but you can take in extras. All rooms have an en suite toilet/shower wet room. fully adjustable hospital beds, with movement sensors attached. My experience has been that the staff are there very quickly Food is great, lots of choices. The main meal is lunchtime and supper is mostly soup and sandwiches but other options if requested earlier. Great activities each day, access to them sometimes a little difficult, the activities team arrange singers, trips out, wellbeing and Art/craft sessions etc. They were the deciding factor on us choosing this home
My mother in Law as been at the willows since Oct 2023 she has been care for with respect when ever we visit staff are always very helpful if we have any questions my mother in law as been takeout to some lovely places & always keeps us with any update on things that are happening
Willows Care Home was a beautiful place for my mum to be. I was happy that Mum was there being looked after very well and she was safe there and the staff there were wonderful and kind towards Mum and Mum was very happy being at Willows. We never worried about her and always kept in touch with us about how she was doing and we could always visit anytime day or night. We would always recommend Willows to anyone.
I'm very pleased with the care being given to my mother-in-law during her nursing respite stay. The nurses are professional and very caring and all the support staff are great. I'm also impressed with the overall cleanliness of the home.
Mum is very well looked after at Willows and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. She enjoyed all the activities that were arranged over Xmas and the New Year and also the recent music session with the visiting DJ. Mum's physical and mental health is much improved and it's also good to see she has put on weight since being in her new home. She recently moved rooms and is very happy with her new room. Thank you to one staff member in particular for getting her new room set up nicely. Thanks for all you do and keep up the great work.
Mum went to Willows straight from hospital as she required palliative care as the hospital could not help her further. What she needed was to be well looked after with care from staff that cared and had compassion. We found the staff overall excellent, easy to talk to and they listened if you had any matters that you thought needed addressing. As an overall experience we were very happy and I would recommend the home to others. When Mum sadly passed this month the staff were excellent in their support and they treated Mum with dignity both before and after her death.
I visited my mum back in July and I found that she is very well cared for, she walks around on her floor quite a bit and is quite happy to do so, that with her dementia, it's keeping her mind occupied and fit. She eats very well so I have no concerns for her wellbeing She also has a one to one carer and they are very helpful and caring towards her. I am very happy with the care that she receives. Carrying on with the great work that the care team provides. Well done,
My sister came to live at Willows in July 2024 after a 7-month period of ill health spent in hospital and in another nursing home. She has settled in well and appears at ease and in good health and spirits. As I live in Ireland, I do not get to see her in person as often as I would like, but we talk every day, and care is taken that her phone is charged and available. I am always contacted whenever there is some important event pending. I have just returned from a four-day visit and came away well-satisfied with the quality of her care and of the environment she lives in. My sister's many friends have all told me the same. Thank you, Willows.
Mum is quite new to the Willows but we as a family are very impressed with her care and wellbeing to date. She was made very welcome from the start and is happy there. The management and staff are friendly and approachable and having Nurses on duty 24/7 is very helpful and reassuring for Mum. The home seems to be kept very clean and there is always a really nice (cleaning product) fragrance in the corridors when I visit. The food looks appetising and Mum enjoys it. The activities programme is fun and varied and residents are encouraged to join in by the lovely staff. There are morning and afternoon activities, regular trips out and entertainers coming into the home. Mum really enjoyed the ventriloquist and Magician! We are looking forward to joining her for the 70's disco! As the weather has been warmer recently, Mum has really enjoyed sitting in the garden chatting. All in all, it is a great relief to know that Mum is happy and being well cared for at the Willows.
My family and I would like to express our thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care and attention that my Mum received at Willows Care Home.
Willows Care Home is a terrific place to stay in, whatever your reason. The care staff are the best and everyone is excellent. Nothing is too much for them to handle. If you are able, and interested, there are activities to visit and participate in. Or you can just sit and watch. The Activity Staff will keep you amused every day, twice a day! The Catering staff are very helpful: if you do not fancy anything on the daily menu, they will try to assist you with something else. But do remember there are other residents to consider, so 70 different meals would be an impossible task! The lovely people in charge are the best! I will not mention individual staff in each case, too many.
Willows is well-run and family-friendly having daily activities run by the wellbeing team and also having days out and various trips to the seaside and shows and evening events for both residents and relatives. All staff are very professional and caring.
On the whole very happy with Willows and the staff. As the manager has recently been appointed and was at the home prior to the appointment I have no doubt or hesitation that it will continue to be managed very well. I would like to see the home decorated as some rooms are looking a little tired but understand this is in the pipeline. There could also be an improvement in the food which is not always hot. My only other concern is the annual increase which, year on year, has been quite substantial. Overall would recommend it.
My mother has been in respite for 3 months from Feb 2024 to the end of April 2024. Mum has been coming to Willows for the past 6/5 years and it’s like Willows has become our extended family. Everybody is absolutely wonderful, so caring, understanding and they are there for you when you need that extra help. A massive thank you Willows. See you all again soon.
Generally we are very happy with the service from Willows Care Home. In particular, the receptionists are very friendly and helpful, making us always feel welcome. We asked for a change of room and this was done quickly and efficiently. The staff appear to be very caring and treat the residents with dignity. Everywhere is very clean. If we have any issues, we are able to speak to the relevant person and these are resolved quickly and easily. On the second floor, it's a shame that there isn't a room to take my mother-in-law when we are just visiting for a chat - there is a room on each of the other floors. It may be confusing for her to come down to the ground floor to use the new visitors' room. We met with the activities organiser who was open to suggestions and happy for us to volunteer to help. We are a little disappointed that she is not allowed to have her piano in her room, as music has always been such a big part of her life.
My experience since my mum became a resident in March of this year has been positive. She is receiving excellent care in a lovely environment. Being bedridden she cannot experience all the facilities/activities on offer, unfortunately. Staff are helpful and very willing to answer any questions we have as a family. Mum’s transition from hospital to Willows has been smooth and trouble-free - due to the professional, considerate attitude of the Willows team.
My mum has been at Willows for over 3 years and is very happy there. I always find all staff are very friendly and will always stop for a chat. The home always looks very clean and all staff work very hard. As soon as you walk through the door you are always greeted with a hello from the reception staff.
I am always greeted with a friendly smile from the lovely staff at Willows and an update on how my mother is doing. My mother is always happy and well cared for thanks to the attentive staff. Thank you Willows, your care is appreciated.
The carers were excellent and the two nurses in charge of my floor were exceptional. You changed the caterers a few weeks after my admission, the original ones were better in my honest opinion. Not happy my room had no shower or toilet with grab rails, which meant toilet was unable to be used. But a good overall experience.
