Willows Care Home is a friendly and modern nursing home in a pleasant residential area of Romford. The home provides person-centred nursing, dementia and palliative care, as well as short-term care for people who need some looking after following a stay in hospital or whose family/carers are temporarily unable to look after them.

Willows Care Home is a friendly and modern nursing home in a pleasant residential area of Romford. The home provides person-centred nursing, dementia and palliative care, as well as short-term care for people who need some looking after following a stay in hospital or whose family/carers are temporarily unable to look after them.
Willows has been designed to offer all the facilities that residents need while retaining a warm and homely atmosphere. There are 72 bright and spacious bedrooms spread over three floors. Each is comfortably furnished and has an adjustable automatic bed, nurse-call system and a TV.
All rooms have ensuite or wet room facilities and large windows. Some ground floor rooms also have French windows opening onto the garden. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with pictures, family photographs and ornaments of their choice.
Each floor has a team of nursing and care staff that is available 24/7, supported by dedicated teams of chefs, activities, administration, housekeeping and cleaning staff.
The communal areas provide plenty of space for residents to entertain their guests, who are always welcome to stop by for a chat. There is also a dining room and lounge on each floor where residents can gather for meals and group activities or socialising. As maintaining a homely feel is important, the lounge can be arranged to suit residents' preference for quiet time as well.
There is free Wi-Fi as well as lift access throughout, and both the home and the garden are wheelchair accessible. The home’s dedicated on-site salon provides regular hairdressing services.
The large, landscaped garden at Willows offers plenty of seating space to enjoy in pleasant weather when the ‘garden café’ provides residents and guests with tea and fresh pastries.

My dad was only at Willows for 6 days before his passing. As a family we couldn't have asked for any better care for both my father and us as a family. Every single member of staff from the cleaners, receptionists, carers and nurses were all amazing. This was our family's first experience of a care/nursing home and we chose Willows based on the CQC inspection and online reviews. I can't say enough positives about Willows and this review is very deserved.

My dad was discharged from hospital following two falls at a previous care home. I was therefore extremely apprehensive. As I walked into reception, Willows had a thoroughly welcoming atmosphere and staff were always kind and helpful, directing me to my dad's room and other amenities. My dad's care was always dealt with in a kind and dignified manner. He had one visit to A&E, and I was kept informed at all times of what was happening (I live 100 miles away).

My father-in-law came for a 10 day respite stay in Sept 2026. The stay was arranged at short notice and the management were very accommodating, quickly arranging, with us, a home visit/assessment. My father-in -law enjoyed his stay at Willows and all the staff that I came across throughout his stay were friendly and approachable.
He is coming back for another visit very soon and I am happy in the knowledge that he will be well looked after as this time we will be unable to visit him regularly.

I have been living here now approximately six weeks. I get treated very well from the care staff, particularly Roger. All staff are always willing to help me when I ask. I am offered a choice of different meals everyday. I would recommend the Willows to any of my friends in the future.

When I first entered Willows, I thought it was a lovely care home. The staff seemed happy and welcoming, the facilities were clean and well maintained, and overall it had a very pleasant feel.
However, as time went on, I became increasingly concerned about my mother-in-law's quality of life. She appeared to spend most of her time alone in her small bedroom. Whenever we visited, we would sit with her on the bed rather than seeing her spending time in the communal areas or taking part in activities.
As my mother-in-law had limited mobility, she needed assistance to transfer into a wheelchair. Unfortunately, it seemed that this meant she was rarely encouraged or helped to leave her room and join the other residents. I felt that the additional effort involved in moving her resulted in her becoming increasingly isolated.
During her time there, she lost weight quite quickly and seemed noticeably sadder. It was upsetting to feel that, although her basic care needs may have been met, there

Our experience of Willows Care Home was a very positive one. The manager, administrator and all the staff caring for my mum were wonderful. Very clean and well run care home. Staff were attentive to Mum, making sure she was comfortable. They were also attentive to us as Mum was receiving palliative care.
Willows helped to make a sad time more bearable, and my family and I are truly grateful.

The Willows Carehome is a nice clean environment and has some friendly staff. However, we felt the Carers were often very busy, therefore not always providing my Mother with the level of personal care and individual attention she needed due to her complex needs with MND/FTD. We were also disappointed with the entertainment/activities provided as our Mother was very rarely included or involved despite this being very important for her wellbeing. We experienced issues with response times to call bells particularly at nighttime which was very concerning given her care needs. Our Mother has now moved to a new Carehome where the level of care and attention is much better suited to her needs.
We are all very pleased to see mum happy and thriving in her new environment

We take all concerns seriously. The concerns raised during your mother's stay were reviewed and investigated through our established processes. Following these reviews, the concerns were not upheld, and we were satisfied that appropriate care and support had been provided in line with her assessed needs and care plan.
As your mother's needs were complex and changing, following ongoing assessment and discussions, we advised that an alternative care setting would be better placed to meet her needs and supported her transition.
We are pleased to hear that she is settled and thriving in her new home and wish her and your family all the very best.

Claudia and the whole team were warm, professional and provided an excellent level of service throughout mums stay. The surroundings at Willows is very pleasant with the central garden and common areas kept to a very high standard. Daily activities were well plan and delivered and enjoyed by users. I would highly recommend Willows.

We looked at many care homes and decided on the willows due to in light airy feel. We noticed it was exceptionally clean. Sadly the home struggled to meet my mother's care needs with her MND/FTD. We eventually replaced our mum to a different home.

As you know I have been at Willows quite a lot recently and I realised with seeing all the efforts for the Open Day event last week and your staff providing services in difficult hot weather, that I wanted to express my thanks to you and your staff. I think the care given to my relative has been first class and also observing how your staff work together every day with a consistent level of care and support from all your teams is a great credit. As my relative says she feels relaxed, and doesn't have any worries or work to do and this is the first time that has happened in her life. It certainly helps me make a decision on care arrangements for myself when I get older and need more support.

My dad became a resident of the Willows Care Home in June 2025. He had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, and after a year in hospital, he was finally settled. I viewed over a dozen care homes, but none had the quality of Willows. The home is so clean, and the staff are amazing - so dedicated to their profession. I had peace of mind knowing that my dad was cared for so well. He liked the staff as they took the time to talk to him - even though he could not communicate back, he was never ignored. Not only did they care for my dad, but looked after our family. I cannot thank the staff on Birch Unit enough for how they looked after my dad.

My parents have moved to the Willows two weeks ago (both Alzheimer's) My experience of the staff has been excellent - they treat mum and dad with dignity and have listened to me throughout the settling in period. They have worked to involve dad in the home community and where mum is bed bound; she is cared for and monitored. It is clean and well maintained. The rooms are hot as the unfortunate heatwave has hit in their second week. The food has been super and in good supply. So far this has been a positive move in what is a difficult and emotional decision to move them from care at home to a care home setting. I feel happy having my parents in the care of the staff, and I feel comfortable discussing the careplan - at no time has anyone made me feel that my contributions are not listened to as we work together to resettle them into a new home.

My cousin was made very welcome on arrival at the Willows in August 2023. She was very well cared for there in the next 2 1/2 years until she passed peacefully away. Throughout her time at The Willows, she was treated kindly and compassionately by all the staff. When I visited, the staff were always friendly and helpful. My visits were always unannounced, and each time I arrived, to find no cause for concern. My cousin's room and ensuite were always clean and tidy, as was all the interior fabric of the building. It was reassuring at all times to know that my cousin was comfortable and well cared for. She often said she liked the staff.

My father received respect and dignity. I was very happy with this home. All the support staff ie. cleaners and laundry were just as helpful and worked hard. A well run care home with strong leadership from the manager and her team.

10 months ago my niece, myself and family visited several nursing homes in the Romford area but each one had issues we were unhappy about until we visited. The Willows, they ticked every box regarding my brother-in-law's needs. All the staff gave 100% excellent nursing, care and attention and to his family too. They involved us with decisions, listened, obliging, professional, friendly, we felt so welcome, it was just like we were one big extended family. We will be forever appreciative and thank them all knowing he was in safe kind hands, a;; that he deserved too.

My mother in law has been a resident for 5 weeks now and it's clear to us that willows care home is very good ,the reception area and the gardens are well kept when you enter the building doesn't smell like a care home,it's clean and fresh the residents are smartly dressed and that shows,the staff care the food looks ok with a varied menu changing daily my mother in-laws room is decorated in pastel colours and with a few pictures and ornaments from home helps her to settle in as she suffers from dementia we are happy with willows and the staff and management are very professional and obviously care

My sister has lived at the Willows for four years. She has M.S. and is wheelchair bound. A hoist is used 100% of the time. Carers are helpful pleasant and caring. My sister has lived at the Willows for four years. She has M.S. and is wheelchair bound. A hoist is used 100% of the time. Carers are helpful pleasant and caring. Wait times for the bathroom is an issue but I have spoke n to management and it is going to be addressed. Claudia the new coordinator is very good and we are glad she has come back to her previous role. Nursing staff is supportive and knowledgeable. Cost of living at the Willows is extremely high so high quality of life is expected.
