I visited the care home as a visitor at a coffee morning put on by the care home. I had previously visited and was shown around. It is an amazing place. I noticed how light and airy it was, beautiful gardens and very clean, not "smelly". All the residents seemed very happy there and were always going out or having some entertainment each day. Outside their rooms, they had a picture and a few words about themselves. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and attended to residents as soon as they were asked. The events co-ordinator was amazing at her job and did so much for the home, painting murals, making cakes (which were delicious) and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a place.

My father's been a resident now for 4 years. Spotlessly clean care home. Regular entertainment, either going out or singers coming in. Choice of foods good. They will always try to accommodate my father's needs. To be honest the care home gives a feel of one big happy family. I know where my home will be when I need it.

The Willows turned out to be the best place for my dad to end his days. He was cared for with dignity and respect, care and compassion. The home is very well cared for too, it is constantly being cleaned, the food is of a high standard and a good choice.

All the staff were amazing, caring, friendly, gentle and compassionate.

Thank you for everything.

My mum has been at the Willows for nearly four years and sadly passed away at the end of January. The home has always met our expectations and we know mum had been very happy, even with her dementia. In all ways, the care and consideration shown to us over the last few days though has been truly excellent. Mum returned from hospital after a short stay to spend her last few days at the Willows but sadly this ended up being for just two days. even though my sister and I didn't make it to her bedside in time, I know she died surrounded by her other family who loved her too.

My mother has been a resident of Willows for 3 months now and she has said that she feels really comfortable and content there, the nurses and carers on the 2nd floor are all friendly and helpful to help make her feel welcome. The management staff are very friendly and welcoming at all times and willing to listen and discuss any concerns that we raise. The family was anxious about placing mum in a care home but we all rest assured that the care and support provided by the staff at Willows have put our minds at rest knowing she is being well looked after. So a big thank you to all the staff at Willows care Home.

The Willows are the most professional home I have ever seen. So clean and beautiful grounds. The manager and all the staff down to the kitchen staff are wonderful.

I am so lucky to have them all looking after my husband.

My father has advanced dementia and after a very stressful period, Willows was the only facility we could find locally that was able to meet his complex needs. They have managed to stabilise his physical health as well as his mood and he now seems as comfortable and content as we could hope for in their specialised unit.

The permanent staff at Willows are very kind and committed, and do a great job. We are more than grateful for their care.

This review relates to the second floor, dementia residents. The home is purpose built and only four years old.
Private car park, 'fob' entry, security guard, two lifts per floor.
Reception; Welcoming, visitor book, always someone around.
Rooms; decor is good spec and calm colours.
Kitchen; Very accommodating, good food and service.
The majority of carers are good, one or two excel at caring.

Agency staff tend to not be good enough! A 'carer' that doesn't 'care' needs to get a job elsewhere.

Our experiences of Willows Care Home have been extremely satisfactory. Our mother has advanced dementia and can be very unpredictable and demanding. However, she has settled in remarkably well and we have nothing but praise for the staff member we have come into contact with. They show great patience empathy and skill in dealing with our mother. She has formed a very strong relationship with one particular staff member who has shown enormous amounts of compassion and understanding - we would like to thank all staff but feel very grateful in particular to this one staff member.

Both my mother and myself/family are extremely happy with the service provided by The Willows. My mother has settled in really well and has progressed well since her admittance and has made lots of friends with both the staff and the residents. I feel reassured knowing my mother is in good hands here. The staff are very efficient and the standard and quality are very high. It's clean, friendly and food quality is very good. We made a good choice in choosing The Willows for my mother and seeing her safe, settled and happy we couldn't ask for more. I would recommend The Willows to people if they were looking for a residential care home.

I am so happy with the care and support from nurses and carers at Willows Care Home. My mum has been a resident here since July 2016 and I was very anxious about placing mum in a home. But I had nothing to worry about as the care that mum has been given is excellent. I can go home and rest assured that mum is in good hands. Thanks to all the staff at Willows. Keep it up.

Very happy with The Willows. The staff, from the most senior to the most junior, are great. My husband, who can be very difficult, is treated with respect and efficiency, but also with care and great kindness. My only complaint is that a few more staff could be employed to help those already there, who are extremely busy at all times.

My grandad stayed here for nearly 4 weeks as respite due to deterioration in health. I cannot fault the care my grandad received during this time and how comfortable he appeared. All staff very friendly and very welcoming any time of the day. Staff in charge always informed us of any doctors visits etc. Very clean and tidy home.

My mother was a resident at the Willows in Romford Road for several months prior to her death in hospital after suffering a stroke. During her stay my brother visited on a daily basis and always found the staff to be engaged and attentive, providing mum with a safe secure and clean environment. Her personal needs were adequately catered for and the carers went out of their way to develop a friendly personal relationship with her. There were some early issues with inconsistent management which reflected in previous CQC reports, but this now appears to have been resolved The current CQC report acknowledges there is currently good/safe practice but is unable to upgrade its report as this needs to be demonstrated over consecutive visits. In my view the facilities are amongst the best in the area and I recommend anyone considering the Willows for a parent or relative pays visit and makes up their own mind for themselves.
