Management is a joke. Rude and unhelpful. Wouldn’t put my worst enemy in here. No one seems to know what’s going on. They don’t do what they say they will do. It’s understaffed as all homes are. It’s just awful.

Reply from Claudia Ramsamy, Home Manager at Willows Care Home

Hi Tara, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you seem unhappy with aspects of the home, although you have not been at all specific about what it is that you do not like. We are aware that you have not visited your aunt here at Willows recently, but are more than happy to meet with...

My mother-in-law has been a resident of Willows Care Home for 3-years, and she is happy there; she is suffering from dementia, so it is a bit difficult to gauge her feelings. I have no complaints about her treatment and care. The home has done very well dealing with the Covid problem.

Reply from Claudia Ramsamy, Home Manager at Willows Care Home

Dear Victoria, we very much appreciate that you took the time and trouble to give us such a kind review. Thank you for your continuous support during Covid and for your patience and understanding. Your mother-in-law is certainly a character, and she has created a great relationship with the staff. I will pass on your comments to the team, who will be very happy to receive them.

Willows is a well-led, well-run home. It is clean and comfortable, the care is exemplary and they have excellent working relationships with outside health providers (GPs, Chiropodists, Dentists, etc).
During the extremely challenging Covid-19 pandemic Willows have been able to maintain a safe environment for the residents and infections have been kept down to a minimal level.

When asked for an opinion on Willows my normal response is that it would be hard to think of any way the quality of the home could be improved.

Reply from Claudia Ramsamy, Home Manager at Willows Care Home

Dear Geoff, thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review of our home. We have an amazing team that works hard to provide the best care and support for residents and their families. So it really is pleasing to receive such positive and encouraging feedback. We look forward to seeing you and your family again when you next visit.

Lovely environment with helpful and caring staff who treat the residents with respect. Staff are patient, kind and caring. Couldn't hope for better care for my father. Despite his degenerative condition, he seems much happier and more communicative since being here as the staff really take the time to talk with him.

When I arrived at Willows Care Home, I was made to feel welcome straight away. The staff here have been absolutely fantastic, and they have tried their best to help me in almost everything that I have asked of them. Before I came here for respite following my operation, I was falling over every day. If I had not had the help that was offered and given to me I am certain without a doubt that I would have lost one of my lower legs that got infected before here.

My Dad came here after discharge from hospital due to not being able to return to his previous care home. Willows Care Home are amazing at communicating with us as a family and always available to speak to and answer questions about my Dad. The overall appearance and atmosphere in Willows is amazing, all staff are professional and friendly. There are many differences (that are all positive) in comparison to other care facilities immediate consideration and referrals have been made on behalf of my Dad.

Staff were kind. Looked after my every need. Under the circumstances, it was as comfortable an environment as one could hope for. The staff are all exceptional people who show the utmost respect and compassion to all the residents, irrespective of the reasons for being placed at Willows. I thought the observance of the current Covid restrictions, including visitors, was meticulous, thorough and adhered to at all times. All staff, particularly senior nurses and management looked after me impeccably even though I was there for rehabilitation, rather than full-time and permanent care. Thank you again to all of you.

We selected Willows Care Home as another member of the family had stayed there. Although my Father's stay was short as he was on 'end of life' care, I found both the home and staff caring and attentive to my Father's demanding needs. I would thoroughly recommend it to other families. I would also like to mention how clean and well maintained the home is and the food was exceptional. The linen was always clean and crisp. Thank you.

Steve, thank you for your feedback. Your father was a very special person that has definitely left a lot of good memories around the home, but also around the staff. Myself and your father had a very good relationship, as we say one of a kind. We will deeply miss him.

My late mum was always treated with dignity and respect. I was reassured that Mum was safe during lockdown periods. I pay tribute to the staff at Willows Care Home who kept the home Covid free. There were no Covid related deaths during the 18 months that Mum was resident at the Willows. Some staff members even became friends with my mum. I was always treated with respect and warmth too. My only disappointment is that alternative arrangements were not made for Mum to be visited by an optician and dentist.

Reply from Claudia Ramsamy, Home Manager at Willows Care Home

Dear Richard, thank you for your feedback. Your mum was a greatly recognised character at Willows and we are all missing her very much. As you stated, during Covid-19 the team have worked really hard to keep everyone safe and they were successful with that. Sadly, some guidelines did restrict us...

Mum has been living at Willows Care Home for 15 months and the care she receives is excellent. Staff are professional and caring and very responsive to feedback. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is very welcoming. The manager is extremely dedicated and effective, communicates very well with residents and relatives, is visible around the home and is focused on continuous improvement of the quality of care. She has made a very significant positive impact on all aspects of the home since she became the manager in Spring 2020. What is most impressive, is the way Willows has responded to the COVID crisis. Residents have been kept safe and healthy. Attention has been paid to activities to help support residents' welfare. Love the hens. Communication with relatives has been excellent. The approach to visiting has been caring, imaginative and safe, so I have been able to visit Mum regularly, which has been so important to our happiness during these difficult times. Very well done.

Overall Experience
Willows Care Home is an amazing place! My aunt has lived there now for about 18-months, and due to her Parkinson's, can be difficult. The staff and care she receives are amazing! The manager must have been created for the role. She is caring, professional, conscientious and approachable. The office manager is super efficient and dedicated to his role. Nothing is too much trouble. The entertainments team constantly strive to be imaginative with what they provide for the residents. Afternoon tea, film events with hotdogs, no reason to be bored at all. Food is well prepared and nutritious, my aunt constantly says how good the food is. The carers are very supportive of the residents and again are very professional. One of the carers, in particular, provides so much support to my aunt and has a particular knack of calming my aunt when she is particularly anxious.

A wonderful caring home that I would have no hesitation in recommending!

Dear John, thank you very much for the feedback you have given us. The team and I have worked really hard for the past 9 months to ensure our residents get the best service at Willows, and we could not have done any of this without the support of families like yourselves. Thank you again. Stay safe.

My sister stayed at the Willows for a short while from 10th March - 27th April. She received end of life care. I found the staff to be caring, professional and approachable. They always kept me fully informed of my sister's condition and any changes that occurred. The Willows seems to be a wonderful place to be, and it's only a shame that my sister wasn't well enough to enjoy it.

Dad became a resident at Willows in November 2018. I can honestly say that the staff here were so caring to my Dad, helping him with his every day needs, especially nursing care, and were very helpful to ourselves too. The home is kept spotlessly clean and his room had everything that he needed. We will miss coming to Willows now that Dad has passed away.

My dad has lived in Willows for about three months before he unexpectedly died. While in Willows, he was very well looked after, staff were caring and he always had a good relationship with the staff. My dad was spending time in the reception and he was a very friendly man.
