View Full Details of Asterbury PlaceThis home is outstanding, it is spotlessly clean, the staff are incredible and I know that it is a great place for my mum to be! Every time I walk in the staff are on their A game insuring the residents are well and happy. The entertainment they provide is exceptional. The food is wonderful And I just cannot fault the place.
My mum moved into this lovely home, it truly is an amazing place, the carers are absolutely brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. The manager is lovely, my mum has settled in nicely. Mum had a lovely trip in the community with one of the carers.
The staff have come to know, understand and love my mum. I have great faith in the way she is cared for. Communication with myself is open, honest and productive. All the staff are kind and considerate to all the residents. The whole ethos of Asterbury Place is positive.
My wife was diagnosed with dementia some 10 years or more ago, and has been in the care of Asterbury these last 2 years. In the main my wife is perfectly happy and more often then not in a jovial mood, sadly she has her bad days, but that is of course down to the terrible disease. I visit most days and invariably it's a pleasure, the Manager and the staff are all most welcoming and do take an interest in you as much as the resident. Rooms and public areas are all maintained to a high standard which of course from my perspective is important, as I would hate for my wife to be in a place where the standards are not so high. The care offered by Asterbury does appear to be very good, i do think they go the extra mile in the care of the residents, which of course is what's important.
We love visiting my nanna at the care home. We are all made to feel welcome and the care staff are amazing. There is always plenty of activities, especially music and dancing which my nanna paticularly enjoys. Overall it's a lovely care home with very caring staff.
Great care home, friendly staff that make you feel very welcome! There are some great activities to keep the residents busy day to day. It's just a lovely atmosphere at Asterbury place and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a care home.
The staff at the care home are compassionate and caring not, only to the residents but the relatives, always lots for the residents to do entertainment morning and afternoon, trips out in the bus , up to a pub for a drink, nothing too much trouble much trouble, fish and chips by the seaside, all the staff involve all the residents in all sections of care, I'm extremely happy with the care my husband receives.
As a family we are very satisfied with the care our mum has received, helping her to keep her independence whilst receiving the best possible care. The staff are always friendly and go out of their way to help. There are always activities to join in and the food menu always looks great.
Top service with friendly and helpfull staff Social. Medical and welfare needs of my wife ard met st sll times The home has a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, and everyone is made welcome.. A very well run care home
Asterbury Place is an excellent residential home and set in beautiful surroundings, the garden is well maintained and attractive. It offers my mother warm and caring surroundings and caters for all my mum's needs. She is missing her independence and former home greatly and ALL Asterbury staff are helping her with this. I and my family are happy and relieved she is living there. We visit regularly and get involved with the many activities offered daily, they are run by an excellent activity team. Mum has made loads of friends, as have we when visiting. Everything is available to residents, coffee shop, hairdresser, podiatry and regular GP visits. The meals are fresh and tasty and nothing is too much, particularly if you fancy something different. Thank you all.
Very pleased with Dads care and very warm welcome we have had since dad moved into Asterbury place recently. Lots of activities and friendliness he has had and dad enjoys the music and opportunity to make his room homely.
I have been very impressed with the care and dedication given to residents, always with a smile and a cheery word. I visit at least once a week and there is always some form of entertainment especially music related which is well attended and enjoyed by all and mini bus trips out are very much appreciated sometimes to a pub or to the seaside.
I'm absolutely blown away by the care my husband has had since he became a resident, not only for him but for how I'm thought of too with everything. This was one of the hardest decisions to make and the most emotional time to face. The support and guidance has been outstanding by everyone, from the care my husband is given, to the daily food choices available including their wonderful little cafe, which even family and friends can use when visiting too. There is always a great choice of daily activities to take part in as well. One of the most impressive things alongside the outstanding care, is the cleanliness throughout the whole place, I honestly can't fault a thing. The staff have done wonders to help build my husband's confidence again at what has been one of the hardest and most anxious times. I really can't thank them enough and feel so blessed to have found Asterbury Place.
My Father is a resident at Asterbury Place, myself and his family are very happy with the care and attention he is given, all the staff are very friendly and professional, and it is a pleasure to visit him and interact with all the staff and other residents, couldn't possibly ask for anything more. Excellent.
My nan was 1st moved here in May 2023, and always said "Don't ever put me in a home". She spent 18 months on the Rose Unit specialising in dementia where she thrived, started eating again, laughing, and being her normal sometimes rude nan. All the staff treat her and all the residents like family, my nan calls them her mates, she swapped over to nursing in November 24 and took a little while to adjust as much calmer on there but seems to enjoy it now. She has the benefit of being allowed to spend time on Rose but has the nursing available on Robin, the home is spotlessly clean, and the cleaners always chat and interact with the residents as well as the kitchen staff again they come out and chat with nan, it's like 1 big family.
My aunt is well cared for and her individual needs are understood and catered for by staff. There is always a welcoming atmosphere and the home is of a high standard with good quality interior and cheerful decorations. The management team are very approachable and deals with any queries in a timely and efficient manner.
You receive a warm welcome as soon as you set foot in Asterbury. The place has a very warm environment. It is kept to a very high standard and you can tell straight away how well the residents are cared for. I know this from visiting a frond over the last few months. I would highly recommend to anyone to check it out if they are seeking someone for their loved one.
My wife has settled in quickly, much to my surprise she is back to her happy self. It appears that everyone treats her and my family with the utmost compassion which is all I could wish for. Since being there she is clean! Her bed is always clean and the room is spotless! I have been there when staff have had to clean her up after an accident with her toilet and the empathy and efficiency shown was excellent! I have noticed everyone smiles and that makes a tremendous difference to everyone. Her clothes are well-kept and very clean. Moving my wife to Asterbury Place on January 2nd is the best thing I have done! The catering is good and the whole premises exude a feeling of well-being.
As well as taking really good care of my husband, I feel that the staff look after me as well. An example of this was when I was unwell recently and not able to visit my husband. The staff arranged to send me some flowers and I can't tell you how much this was appreciated. In what is a very difficult time for me to have to live separately from my husband, Asterbury Place has brought some light and it feels like my happy place with him. I know he is happy and well looked after. My husband has a very good relationship with the lifestyle manager who ensures he gets involved in activities and we get to spend precious time together off-site once a week too. The staff on the unit my husband lives in, know him really well and have a good rapport with him. Special thanks to the manager and deputy manager who go out of their way to look after us both. We really appreciate it.
My mum had been a resident of Asterbury Place for the last 2.5 years. My mum's words why didn't I do this before? Mum was a person who kept herself to herself, but with staff encouraging Mum to come and join in activities, my mum changed for the better. She went 10-pin bowling and loved quizzes and bingo. Also her daily jaunt to the coffee shop for cappuccino. Mum's sight started to fail, but she carried on with activities and even went out for fish & chips on the minibus, loved singing groups and I used to try and join in when visiting, Mum would say you go I'm having fun. We can catch another day. Sadly Mum passed away, the staff when this happened at her home, as Mum called it were like family. Nothing too much trouble. Even now I drop in for coffee and catch up. Thank you all for making my mum so welcome and us too, making her days happy, right up until the end. Our family thank you from our hearts. You're all amazing.
