View Full Details of Eastbourne House Care HomeOverall I am very happy with everything. Some staff are exceptional but others not so. At the moment things are a bit hectic with decorating being done, but everything is ticking over fine.
Welcoming - staff always available to talk Clean fresh wide corridors. Excellent position. Variety of activities.
The activities and involvement of residents is great, there are always things on, staff are friendly and make the home homely. I couldn't fault the home in anyway.
Staff are all very supportive of my father-in-law and excellent at all information to the family. All staff from kitchen, cleaning and care given a lovely atmosphere to all.
My mother-in-law has been at Eastbourne House for the last 3 years. Throughout this time she has been very well cared for and all of her needs met. All the staff are fantastic and arrange fun activities for the residents and trips out. Would highly recommend Eastbourne House.
This care home is emaculat, the staff are outstanding, caring, from management, reception, senors and carer's, again the food is of a very high standard. This is not a care home but a 5 star hotel.
My mum has been in Eastbourne house now for over a year since being here. She has thrived and extremely happy. The staff are so kind and caring and always make sure mum has everything she needs. There is always something going on to keep them busy including pamper days and fantastic singers. I would not have mum anywhere else this is by far the best care home in the area.
I feel very aspect of my mothers care has been outstanding, the friendliness of staff cannot be faulted. I feel they go above and beyond to accommodate the needs of residents and families. The home is always clean and tidy. The activities and the planning is thoughtful and help keep my mother engaged socially.
I can't praise Eastbourne House highly enough! My father in law developed dementia quite suddenly and we needed to find care for him quickly. We were very worried about the transition as we were moving him from another part of the country and we worried if he would manage the move but had we known how fantastic the care would be we needn't have worried! My father in law settled in quickly and now describes it as his home. He feels safe and is now part of a community. Whereas he was lonely before, he has a life now-he goes on bus trips, plays dominoes, goes on trips to the pub and all sorts. He also is cared for so well and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We visited quite a few homes but this one has a different feel the instant you enter the door. It is clean and tidy and smells lovely. The staff are always happy and cheerful and there's so much going on. It's made a really hard decision much easier and we know it's been the right one!
Staying at Eastbourne House was the best decision I made following a THR op. I found 2 weeks essential as the care I received was so essential to my recovery. During my 2nd week the other residents made me welcome. I recommend E. House to anyone considering respite.
My mum has been a resident at Eastbourne House for just over 3 years and I have been very happy with the care she has received. She has dementia, and the staff have always been very kind, patient and attentive to her needs. The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and I have always felt reassured that she is in safe hands. Unfortunately due to the rising costs I have had to make the difficult decision to move her. This is no way a reflection on the quality of care which has been excellent. I would highly recommend Eastbourne House to anyone looking for a compassionate and well run home.
The staff at Eastbourne House is outstanding. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They provide the best care to all the residents could wish for. I used to work in a care home and this one is the best I've seen. The manager is one amazing lady. The rapport she has with all her staff is amazing to see. Everyone is always happy.
Attended afternoon tea on the 11th December to see some of our old golfing friends. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the tea was absolutely lovely.
I organised an afternoon tea at Eastbourne House for two friends who are residents. I was able to attend with 10 other friends of mine and the residents to enjoy a social get together before Christmas. The staff were excellent, on hand for serving tea and coffee and making sure all was going well. It was very well organised and enjoyed by all of us. This is the third one I have arranged but certainly won't be the last. Thank you.
Eastbourne House goes above and beyond to care for their residents. My mother went into Eastbourne during the first months of lockdown and we were not allowed to visit, she was made to feel like part of the family straight away and she is loved by all the carers. I do feel more interaction with Grace House is needed. There are new murals on the wall which brighten up the resident's days and there should be more and there should be more interaction gadgets for the residents to use to keep their minds stimulated. It would be lovely if there were 3D activities on the walls, all the residents are well cared for and safe and there are some carers working in Eastbourne House who do more than go above and beyond. They are Angels.
Good Afternoon. Whilst sitting in my mum's room, I have noticed the beautiful murals on the walls and how many of the residents interact with them. They are completely taken with them. However I have learnt that they are to be taken down as they don't match with the decor, surely as a dementia unit the stimulation for the residents and how they interact with things is majorly important. To go back to the beige walls would be a major step backwards as the calming effect and wonderment plus interaction is a sight to behold. To have things surrounding the residents that actually invoke joy instead of them being sat in chairs or wandering aimlessly up and down the corridors, give them something to walk to . This would be a step forward and bring your facility into being an elite care home rather than just another run of the mill sub standard home. This is not an hotel after all it is their home!
My mother lived at Eastbourne House from July 2023 until her death from a stroke in March 2024. During this time, she was made to feel incredibly welcome and at home and the staff seemed genuinely attached to her. They kept us informed all the time, made sure she had choice and control but encouraged her to do new things. She particularly loved being read to, which they arranged for her. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Many care homes are cold and unwelcoming, but this one is warm and caring.
My mother spent her last few weeks of life at Eastbourne House, where she was safe, warm and cared for and provided with all the things that you would want for someone you love. What has made Eastbourne House stand out has been the care that they have shown us as family members, recognising the significance of the initial decision for us and after her death taking time to speak with us and show us that mum was known and valued.
All staff are excellent. Very respectful of my mother and kind. The place is kept very clean, which of course is important. Best care home in the area by far.
The home and staff give good value for money and have an excellent level of care.
