View Full Details of Avalon Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareMy mother resides at Avalon Court and I have been so incredibly impressed by the level of care and support she receives. Rather than do the easiest thing, Avalon works hard to do what is in the best interests of residents. This is evident in their incredible program of activities that include unusual and stimulating activities like drama productions and zoo animal encounters, and the way that the staff continue to encourage and support (those residents that can) to walk and engage in feedback meetings. I have visited a number of homes and Avalon Court is by far the best one I have come across. I very much appreciate all the hard work that Avalon Court puts into ensuring that my mum is well looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a caring, supportive environment for their loved ones.
I hold power of Attorney for two of the residents at Avalon Court in Coventry. Whilst they are happy with their care, they are most unhappy with the food they are served daily. Let me give you an example, yesterday they were offered a scone for their tea, but it arrived with not butter or jam, when they asked for both a small pot of jam it arrived 25 mins later, but they never did receive any butter. This may seem trivial but similar instances happen regularly. I find it incomprehensible that a care home with such a good reputation is let down by such inadequate catering service. I am happy to discuss these issues with you if you care to contact me.
Excellent in all respects.
The resident I visit has now been in Avalon Court for more than nine years. The fact that she has reached the age of 94 is at least in part, due to the very good care she has received here. I have written several reviews over the years and they all express the same level of satisfaction.
My mother has been at Avalon Court for the past two years. In that time she has enjoyed every aspect of Avalon life - the staff have made her and myself feel very included and welcome. In the past few months my mother's needs have changed as she progresses into her 'end of life' stage, but as he needs increase the staff and medical team have been wonderful. I'm in the home visiting my mother daily now and feel very much at home! The staff be it reception, care, domestic or kitchen approach their jobs with dedication and care as one big happy family.
Have been visiting for over 2 years and in that time all of the staff that I've spoken with have been polite & helpful. The daily entertainment for residents always amazes me on how varied it is to meet the needs of different people. The person we come to see is very happy & content!
Helpful, friendly, caring & professional staff. Lovely homely atmosphere. Very hard to find fault.
Avalon is always very welcoming, the staff greet you with a smile and take the time to have a conversation either about you or your loved one. The entrance is clean, tidy with fresh flowers or displays of the residents art work etc. This month has had a variety of activities for all the residents to take part in if they so wish. Tea, coffee and delicious home made cakes are always available for you, to enjoy whilst having a chat with the resident either in the lounge or in the suite, where staff are always approachable to discuss any problems, either medical issues or food which they had that day.
My mother has been at Avalon Court for 2.5 years now and I can honestly say the care she has received, particularly as she has dementia, has been exceptional. Nothing is to much for the staff and are quick to rectify any unforeseen problems when identified. The staff behind reception supervised by management are outstandingly professional as are the entertainment team and the hairdresser. Their interactions with residents and their families is admirable and a credit to Avalon Court.
It's nice to visit and see that my dad is safe and well cared for. He enjoys the tasty food and is comfortable, clean and dressed nicely. Dad's needs are changing all the time and the staff take care to accept his care to accommodate this. Although Dad struggles to access the excellent activities, these are emailed to me weekly so that I can target my visits accordingly. This is much appreciated.
My mother was welcomed with open arms by all the staff at Avalon Court Care Home. Each person, friend, member of staff, I say friend because that's how you are treated and become. My mom is encouraged at every opportunity to join in, has regular contact from staff to check all is well. If there is the slightest problem it is always acted upon promptly. Mom's only complaint is that very occasionally the food isn't up to standard, you can't please everybody all the time! However, apologies are always made and food is changed without a problem. My mother has thrived.
My mother-in-law has gone from being lonely in her own home to a home that has a great social life with brilliant care! And an entertainment crew that keep the residents at the heart of all planning! It's amazing to see my mother-in-law positively grow and make new friends and to see her embark on a new journey, rather than us thinking it was the end of something. Thank you Avalon.
When our mum was diagnosed with early stages of dementia we didn't imagine that we would find the best, caring, stimulating, fun, supportive future home! It's given our mum a new lease of life that she's really enjoying! All the opportunities for socialising and well-being have made her so happy, with a new sense of belonging and happiness!
Both reception and floor teams treat the residents with respect, care and love, making sure their every need is catered for.
I cannot find the words to express the kindness I have experienced at Avalon Court Care Home. I would recommend it. It is clean, caring, patient but most of all, a happy place. The entertainment every afternoon was a pleasant surprise. I came here on my own but I left with lots of friends who I have promised to revisit. It has been an eye-opener for me and I have been made to feel very humble. A big thank you to everyone.
My sister has been on trips out, she has been to the school. She has a great life doing lots of social activities. The food is always good, she has the same care worker who knows her very well.
My sister is a resident in Avalon Court Care Home. I have visited her periodically from my home in the USA. I am saddened she has to be here permanently but commend you for the wonderful care she receives. On the front desk, we were always greeted very warmly, as were all the rest of the staff. God bless you all.
My mum was at Avalon Court from August 2023 until April 2024 and during her time she received excellent care by all staff. Nothing was too much trouble. She had a lovely spacious room, restaurant for meals and excellent carers including all the entertainment staff. Mum looked forward to so many activities during her time especially the choir and plays. Unfortunately after a short time in hospital it was agreed that the home could no longer meet her care needs and she had to move into nursing care. This was a sad day for my mum and the whole family. The only negative point I would make is concerning care cost credits. Unfortunately due to the timing of mum having to move to a nursing home and the monthly fee being taken from her account, we are still waiting for a credit to be repaid, despite having made number of enquires over the last 6 months. This negative point is not a reflection on the care received overall.
My dad was very well looked after during his time at Avalon. The staff were all very caring, friendly and helpful. The food looked delicious and requests were catered to as far as possible. Thank you for all that you have done and are doing.
I feel the care home is very well suited for residents with physical disabilities. My husband has dementia. I did hope more could have been carried out to stimulate him. Not a great amount of staff on his floor. Meetings and training courses left a very thin covering of staff at times. I do feel the staff did their best for the residents in their care though.
