View Full Details of Barchester Bryn Ivor Lodge Care HomeA very beneficial Respite stay staff have been very kind and helpful. Family have felt reassured and pleased with a wonderful service.
I enjoyed my stay so much did not want to leave Everyone of the staff give more than 100 percent, My special thanks to the residential head of unit as she is a diamond Sorry to go I will be back Love to you all
The nursing care experienced by my aunt for the last 2-3 years of her life has been exceptional. Without doubt, it surpassed considerably the care available for the elderly in their final days at hospital. The familiar faces, voices and routines have been a comfort. The compassion and care provided by all staff from receptionists to cleaners, & of course nursing staff has been priceless
My mum has been at Bryn Ivor Lodge for six months now. She lives with advance Dementia and can be very challenging at times. I choose to travel some distance everyday to visit her as I feel she is very settled in this wonderful environment. The staff, from cooks to housekeeping, carers to maintenance men, managers to entertainers, they all treat my mum with the utmost respect. I like the fact there is continuity in staff and not a high turnover that I have found in other settings. I wanted to say how much I appreciate the care and support given to my mum and myself during this Dementia journey.
My mum was given a lovely room and was looked after really well. The management and staff of the home were the key - they were really professional and caring. My mum was nearly 97 and needed a lot of looking after but she could not have received better care anywhere else that I know of. Top marks to Bryn Ivor Lodge. You are great!
Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home is a shining example of what excellent elderly care should look like. From the moment you enter the beautifully kept grounds and walk through its welcoming doors, you are met with warmth, kindness, and a sense of calm. The staff are not only professional and attentive but genuinely care about each resident's well-being, treating them with dignity and respect. What truly stands out, however, is the quality and diversity of the daily activities offered at Bryn Ivor Lodge, which go far beyond what one might expect in a typical care setting. The activities programme is both well-structured and impressively varied, designed to cater to different interests, abilities, and personalities. Each day presents new opportunities for residents to engage, connect, and enjoy themselves. Whether it's a lively group session or a quiet one-to-one activity, the emphasis is always on meaningful engagement and enjoyment. Every Friday includes an amazing baby group for everyone
Thank you to the activity team and staff for all their hard work last Sunday. The Christmas fayre was a great success for residents and visitors alike. It was a very festive atmosphere and of course, the grandchildren loved their visit to Santa's grotto. Well done and thank you for all you do throughout the year.
My mother received a very high standard of care at Barchester Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home. She was kept clean and tidy and her clothes were freshly laundered daily. The food was freshly prepared and a variety was provided. There was a wide range of entertainment, activities and environment. The carers were empathetic and positive every day. Visitors are encouraged at any time. Communication is excellent ad we always had a warm welcome.
I'm writing this review specifically to mention one of your carers on Tredegar. She has got a really lovely way with the residents (especially my mother). She is very caring, kind and an absolutely credit to her professional. I can't fault her.
Wish to thank the activities coordinator and all the staff concerned for making my aunt's 103rd birthday such a special occasion.
A birthday party was held for my relative in the care of Barchester Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home. The activities lead organised it all with such care and attention to detail. She greeted us all and looked after everything and made sure we all had what we needed without intruding - she got it just right. There was a harpist playing in the background which was a lovely touch. Food was plentiful and delicious. Most importantly, the birthday girl and her guests were made to feel very special.
I have spent two weeks at Barchester Lodge and have been treated professionally and with great kindness and nothing has been too much trouble for staff. Food excellent.
Excellent care home, wonderful staff, always very attentive. Pity the costs of care are so expensive.
My father recieved excellent care and support. He was hesitant at first, but soon opened up and enjoyed the atmosphere at the Lodge. The staff were reassuring and even managed to help him engage in some of the activities that were provided. I would have no hesitation in my father staying at the Lodge for future respite care.
Absolutely beautiful from when you drive up. Lovely maintained gardens to the overall interior - like walking into a five-star hotel which was perfect for my father as we didn't want him to think he was going into a care home. The facilities and rooms were lovely and clean. The food was excellent and again, the dining room was like walking into a restaurant. The staff were excellent, looked after my father so well which was peace of mind for the family. The overall standard was excellent and in the future, would not even consider putting my father anywhere else.
Barchester Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home provided a wonderful environment for a dear dad. Supporting the changing needs of dementia, fabulous, caring staff. Dad was always treated with dignity and kindness at all times. He thoroughly enjoyed his meals! The entertainment/activities team work so hard, always cheerful and smiling, tailoring activities to individuals. A special mention to all those on Seagar Community who became Dad's Bryn Ivor family.
I live overseas and I have relied entirely on communication by telephone. Since visiting the home, I am extremely pleased with both the facilities and staff. I have found the staff to be extremely friendly and efficient. It is fair to say that it has exceeded my expectations. I am completely confident in the quality of care being provided for my brother. I would just like to say a big "thank you" to you all.
Staff provide a varied programme, including assisted animal activities, suitably differentiated to include and engage all! Such activities, designed to facilitate interaction, relationships and well-being, have clearly been enjoyed by residents.
Overall experience was excellent.
My mother-in-law has been a resident here for approximately six months. Staff have gone above and beyond to settle her into her new environment. Staff are so kind and patient with her. She has vascular dementia and at times, she can be quite challenging but the staff are wonderful. Mum really enjoys all of the activities, especially the trips on the bus. They also keep us informed of any change in her condition.
