View Full Details of Prince George HouseMy elderly mum, who has Alzheimer's and Dementia, attended the Prince George House Day Centre on Fridays, which was beneficial for her and gave my brother, her primary carer, some respite. After a bad reaction to antibiotics for a UTI, she lost her mobility. We contacted Prince George House for respite care. The Day Centre Manager, visited us at home to explain the process, and Mum agreed to go in. The Home is lovely, bright, and airy, with welcoming staff. We could visit anytime, and dogs were welcome. The night staff were friendly, and I felt reassured that Mum was in safe hands. There were plenty of activities, and Mum's room had an ensuite, TV, and a big window. The Home arranged for a physio to visit, and they kept us informed about any issues or changes. Mum stayed in respite for just over a month. When we needed her to stay longer due to equipment delivery delays, the Home accommodated us. When Mum left, she could sit up and stand with aid. Thank you so much to all the team!
The staff cared for my Aunty and me as well!! Despite the short time my Aunty was there she picked up quickly after a hospital stay. It was wonderful to see her up and dressed, nails painted and wonderful care. From the admin staff, carers, nurses, manager and assistant manager they all played their part. They took the time to listen and were so keen to know about her so they could support her in every way. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend
My mum is a new resident to this home, and it is the first time we have experienced this type of care. I was very apprehensive and sad that it had to come to residential care for mum. Well today I saw my mum smile she joined in with the entertainment that was on today, it was brilliant to see, and watching how the staff go round involving everyone I know this is the best thing we have done for mum, she seems more alive , it's wonderful. Thank you all so much
My mother has certainly become more responsive since she has been at Prince George House. There is a good variety of activities during the week that she can join in with that keeps her occupied and her mind active. The one thing that mum doesn't like is being lonely and the 8 weeks that she has been in the home she hasn't mentioned it once. The staff are very friendly and will always check and make sure mum is ok. She loves the food and it's reassuring for the family that we know she is eating well. The management and staff are always very approachable and happy to help.
Everyone is helpful and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The home is very clean and welcoming to visit. My Aunt is very happy here and it meets all her requirements. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone. One of the best I have visited.
Prince George House is the best in every way, clean, smells lovely, no pee smell, the staff are all lovely and they look after my friend so well. It's a very homely home and I am made very welcome every time I go there.
Mum had a stroke that changed everything for her, she had been in hospital for a long time and has a lot of needs. From our first visit to look around, everyone was so lovely and caring. They listened to all our questions with care and empathy. Since Mum arrived (Christmas week), and all the busyness with presents for residents, Father Christmas, there was so much love, care and support for her. She craves attention and they are so patient and kind. Her room is beautiful and clean, variety in food that she can manage with support, she has made friends. She is not forced to do anything she doesn't want. Entertainment is varied. It's been such a relief knowing she is in good hands while we adjust to this stage of her life. Very thankful.
All good thanks. My wife is still settling. She is well cared for. Food is good and the room clean, staff friendly. Would recommend this care home. Can relax knowing she is in good hands. Good, convenient site too as regards position.
The staff of Prince George House are welcoming, friendly and supportive of my mum and myself. It is a relaxed and professional environment to be in and I'm reassured that Mum is very well looked after. It's a great place to be during the festive season. There have been multiple activities on offer for the residents to enjoy and engage in. I know my mum enjoys so many of them. Prince George House has given Mum the opportunity to live well with her dementia and has almost given our mum back to us. The staff know Mum well, enough to know if she is not herself and I've seen for myself just how much they really care for her. In my absence, it is a huge comfort knowing she is surrounded by good people who genuinely want the best for Mum. I wouldn't want Mum to be anywhere else. I can see that the management team, carers, lifestyle team, kitchen staff, domestic laundry all do their very best for each and every resident. I believe that your best effort is good enough and it certainly is at Prince George House.
I have been a resident since March 2023 and since the beginning, my views have only got better. The home is superb at catering to my needs in every way. The staff not only nurses are friendly, helpful and supportive and will go the extra mile (or miles) for you. I have been made to feel welcome in every way. I must say it's a pleasure to live here and be helped through a difficult time in my life by some wonderful staff.
My nana is receiving end-of-life care. I honestly cannot thank the care home enough. All of the staff are truly amazing, caring and compassionate. This whole process has been a rollercoaster of a ride.
I can't find any fault with the care my mother gets at Prince George, she is always clean and well-dressed, her hair is always brushed and kept tidy. The staff are always friendly and take excellent care of my mother, since moving into the home she looks so much better than she did in the previous home.
My sister has been well looked after at the care home and we are both very appreciative of the very kind carers on the Windsor suite and in general. My sister enjoys the varied menu and her meals are brought to her room at her request.
The staff are fantastic and you can't wish for better staff on premises day and night. The residents must feel like they are in a hotel. Staff are always on hand and phone you straight away if anything changes. The activities are brilliant.
I have a mum in the home and she is looked after very well, very pleased with the service they provided and the food they get excellent, also the carers are very efficient, the entertainment they get is first class and also the activities are brilliant, you couldn't wish for better.
My relative began his respite care in early April 2024 and from day one was made to feel incredibly welcomed and cared 'about', not just cared 'for'. The general vibe is one of happiness and positivity. The staff make every day fun and it's obvious they enjoy helping the vulnerable people in their care. It's been enlightening and reassuring to walk into a beautifully laid-out and purpose-built venue where there is frequent music playing and where the decor is changed to match the season. Residents walk out - or are wheeled from - the ground-floor salon with a new hair-do and a smile on their faces. They partake in games sessions where they can practice throwing beanbags into tray targets, kicking the softest balls, knocking down plastic skittles, and much more. Entertainers sing residents' favourite old songs. Some walk to the pub with carers and there are coach trips out to various locations. He has renewed his love of gardening and is far less anxious now he is surrounded by company.
Very high standard of care. Very friendly and polite staff who work very hard in some very stressful jobs but always with a smile. Standard of cleanliness of rooms and buildings is very high. Food is of a very good standard - everything is freshly cooked.
I have nothing but praise to report for Prince George's House care home. Since my mother moved here three years ago, she has been treated with the utmost respect and she has thrived on the care provided. The carers accept how Mum is at that moment in time and work around her, e.g. if she wants to go to bed, they help her to bed, even if she hasn’t been up that long. This makes Mum feel validated and that she can just be herself. All the carers and staff I have met have been friendly, and nothing is ever too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend this care home.
My Father has been a resident for 6 years, with no major issues with care. When there have been any minor issues, it’s been dealt with quickly and to a good standard and apologetic. The staff was always friendly, nothing too much, and informed without delay of any issues. You are made to feel like part of the family and welcomed.
My 92-year-old mum suffered from Alzheimer’s and was a resident for 3 months at Prince George House before she died. I was impressed with the home from the moment I set foot inside. The staff are undoubtedly the heart of this wonderful, caring environment. There is always a warm welcome and the home is very clean and hygienic. It is well furnished with spacious individual rooms which are warm, light and airy. Every effort is made to ensure that nutritious enticing meals appropriate for each individual is provided. The entertainment and Activities Team are enthusiastic and energetic. Mum was always well groomed and dressed in matching outfits, something which was very important to her. She liked going to the coffee shop or sitting outside in the well-cared-for garden. Although her stay was comparatively short, I was able to relax knowing that she was in the best place possible where her emotional and physical needs were met by an outstanding and professional Care Team. Thank you for looking after mum so well.
