View Full Details of Cumnor Hill HouseThe team at Cumnor Hill House did a wonderful job helping us to celebrate my dad's birthday with a fantastic meal for the whole family. My dad has only been resident there for a few months but we all really appreciate the team's efforts to make all of us feel like part of the community.
Mum celebrated her 90th birthday with a fine dinning experience. My god food cooked by the chef was outstanding as was lees service I'm pretty sure no care home could have matched this experience mum loved it so a big thank you to all.
Rooms - looked in those close to me which were excellent - mine was awaiting refurbishment?
We had the fine dining experience to celebrate my Mum's 93rd birthday. The food was superb, the choice of drinks good. The team who served us were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The arranging was very easy. The room is very comfortable and the fact we can stay there as long as we want makes it all a very relaxing time. Thanks again to head chef Neal and all the team, a thoroughly enjoyable time.
My cousin moved to Cumnor Hill House in December 2024 and the staff could not have been better at supporting both her and me during the move. They made sure that she felt welcomed and took extra time to help her understand the routines. She really enjoys the different activities, especially the dementia choir. Whenever I visit, I too am made welcome. We have enjoyed sharing lunch and high tea in the Bistro area which is a lovely place to sit and chat. It is a great relief to me and my brother that she is well cared for, content and enjoying life as much as she can. Thank you all the staff.
The staff at Cumnor Hill House are exemplary. I can't praise their caring, attention to detail highly enough. From the moment we visited to the time my mother spent as a respite resident to try it out, to the time she moved in permanently, they made the process stress free and seamless. Their standards far exceed other care homes. My mother is settled and content which is a huge weight off my mind. With me living abroad, the quick response to emails and keeping me informed of events is vital. I have complete confidence they are taking care of Mum just as I would. Thank you Cumnor Hill House team.
We attended the afternoon tea organised by the staff at Cumnor Hill House for my mother's 92nd birthday. It was beautifully laid out, in the library, with a delicious selection of sandwiches, cakes, birthday cake, drinks etc. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. My mother had a wonderful birthday and we all loved sharing it with her.
First class care in all areas. Thank you so much.
My mum came to Cumnor Hill via hospice, and we were aware that she was end of life. I have worked in care my self for 33 years, so I was a little anxious, but we were welcomed warmly to a home that was beautiful. She had a very nice room looking onto the garden, which was important due to her being in bed. Every concern we had, met with a warm, friendly, and interested approach. All of the team were approachable when it came time for her end of life care. I could not have asked for better and in all the homes I have worked, this is the only one I would have felt I had any unresolved feelings.
I enjoyed my second respite care stay at Cumnor Hill House. The staff were wonderful. I look forward to staying there again.
I stayed at Connors Hill House Residential care home for 3 weeks while my wife had an operation and recuperated with my son and his wife. I found the whole experience an entirely happy time with great facilities, friendly attentive, and highly professional staff. If I ever need to live in a care home full time in this area this Joint would be top of my list for preference.
My Mother was living at home sleeping 20 hours a day and given days to weeks to live. She was taken off all meds. It was too difficult to look after her at home as she couldn't walk and it took 2 live-in carers to get her into her wheelchair or on the loo. We moved her to Cumnor Hill. Set on beautiful grounds. It was for end-of-life care. However, a month later my Mum is now awake most of the day, can walk, is in the physio gym cycling from a chair, has made biscuits and her BP is down. The Physio has made her much stronger. She doesn't ask to come home and has made a couple of friends. The turnaround has been miraculous. The stimuli and care have turned her life around.
Very friendly and efficient staff. A very enjoyable and relaxing visit.
Yesterday was my friend's 90th birthday held in the fine dining area for 8 people. I want to say that from the first time I met the head chef l to organise the meal to the actual day I received nothing but professionalism. The serving staff were amazing and friendly to make this a special day. I travel and eat out frequently here and abroad and I can honestly say the food and presentation were outstanding. The quality you would expect to receive in any fine-dining restaurant. Thank you so much to the head chef. Regards.
This is my second experience of visiting a resident at Cumnor Hill House. On every occasion I have been greeted with politeness and made to feel very welcome. The carers have always been helpful and kind. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The food is excellent. I would like to see more activities for the residents and more fresh air in the building.
My friend spent eight years here. At first, he used to go out daily to catch a bus; at the end, a hoist was needed to move him. However, he was always clean, comfortable and looked after in an environment that was as attractive as many hotels. The staff - despite a period, now past, of rapid turnover - has always been willing, approachable and patient.
My sister has been resident in the nursing wing for the last few weeks and the care has been fantastic. The room is beautiful. The staff are very attentive and caring. As she is on end-of-life care this has made her last days much more comfortable. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
I have cared for my parents for many years and they lived with my family for several. This is the third care home my father has lived in. The first was not right for him, the second was a complete disgrace and provided unsafe care. His current home is a complete contrast and looks after him to the complete satisfaction of his daughter.
Cumnor Hill House is an extremely well-run home offering a warm, welcoming, caring and supportive environment. Any problems are tackled head-on with open, honest conversations involving all the family. Access to excellent medical support. All-inclusive means just that, no hidden extras. Amazing catering extended to friends and relatives. Staff all work together as a team with excellent leadership. Regular events are held, designed to bring residents and relatives together as a community. Big thumbs up!
My mother has been a resident at Cumnor Hill House for six years. She has always been treated with kindness and compassion and the care she has received is exceptional. She is extremely well looked after and very happy here. The staff are truly wonderful and ensure that all her needs are met, they go above and beyond their everyday jobs to ensure Mum has what she needs and, as a family, we are so grateful to each and every one of them. The staff member on the reception actions every request, management work very hard to ensure all residents and staff are happy and fully supported. The activities team, physios and laundry staff work so hard for the residents and ensure all their emotional and physical needs are met and the catering manager is one in a million. We are truly grateful for the care and compassion all the staff have shown Mum recently when times have been tough. We cannot rate the home highly enough and I would recommend it to anyone looking for full time care for their loved one.
