Aspects, very good. But there is room for improvement to food. But overall satisfied.

We moved Mum to Highmarket House earlier this year. From the moment we viewed the home, we knew it had so much to offer. The staff were very welcoming and understanding, and are doing everything they can to support us and Mum as she adjusts to her new life. At Highmarket House it wasn't a case of
'if they could take her' but where they would place her to best meet her needs. It's so reassuring to know that she will receive the best care 24/7 from the wonderful teams of carers, nurses, housekeepers and entertainment staff, thereby enabling us and her to relax more and enjoy the next chapter in her life. The coffee shop on the ground floor with its freshly baked cakes and snacks is a huge hit with Mum, as is the garden with its various outdoor seating areas and plants. The home's proximity to the town means that we can walk over to the many cafes and shops, or enjoy a stroll in People's Park, which the residents' lounges and dining rooms overlook. All in all, an excellent choice.

Good - all is done to keep residnets as myself, happy.
Trips out for residents are very good, and walking from our bus is nice and refreshing.
We need to have pets such as a dog, keeps everybody happy.

The care and understanding was exceptional to us all. The head of housekeeping went that extra mile to make sure everything was to our liking. The most moving gesture was when our son left the care home; all the staff made a guard of honour, which we will remember always. We cannot thank them
enough.

My Dad was admitted to Highmarket House for palliative care and spent a few weeks being cared for by the most wonderful carers, nurses and staff.
Although reluctant to be there at first, he enjoyed the interaction with all the staff and some of the residents' relatives. He was a people person and
enjoyed the interaction.
The environment, food and cleanliness was great and his room was his home from home.
Thank you Highmarket House for looking after my Dad.

We have very close relatives and friends who have been diagnosed with dementia and are very grateful to Highmarket House who have organised a series of presentations on this subject matter and opened these up to a wider local community. We found this invaluable especially on the booklet provided on
Staying Connected, A Guide to Dementia-friendly conversations. Some of our relatives have avoided visiting family with dementia, but if they had read the booklet beforehand, perhaps they would be better aware of how best to talk to them. "Adjusting to a dementia diagnosis" presentation held this week was also very informative especially explaining the difference between normal forgetfulness as we age and dementia.
It is lovely that Highmarket House has involved the community in these subject matters. Staff have always been very warm and welcoming. Well done and thank you.

Highmarket House became a sanctuary of compassion and care for our Mother and us as a family .
All the staff were very kind and respectful and provided a high level of care throughout her short stay. Her End of Life care was very compassionate and the needs of my family always considered .
All staff were very generous with their time and every one of them a credit to Care UK and to the Home Managers lead and to themselves.
Thankyou with all my heart.

My mother was in need of some tlc. We contacted Highmarket House and were very impressed by their professional and friendly response. We were all made to feel welcome and were reassured by the staff and care team. My mother was very complimentary saying how lovely everybody was to her. The
entertainment team were very encouraging, trying to get mum engaged with activities and other residents. Thank you to all.

My wite entered Highmarket House for her first time for respite care. From the moment she arrived she was warmly welcomed by the staff. She had a lovely room and treated with care and compassion by the staff. My wife found the home and staff very supportive of her needs. She found the meals very
good. Her clothes were always clean and her personal hygiene was excellent I was veery impressed by the way the home operated, from its security, cleanliness and services provided to the residents,

My Mum had deteriorated following a couple of infections and was no longer safe at home. We managed to arrange two weeks respite care for her at High Market house. It was all arranged very quickly and efficiently. Mum was hesitant at first and although the home was very clean and the food excellent
she felt very lonely. However this was soon rectified after talking with the activities coordinator. He took time to get to know Mum and purposefully included her in the activities he ran. He even tailored some activities specifically to her interests. Mum began to enjoy her stay and make new friends. She improved her strength over the two weeks so she is now well enough to function back at home with carers coming in. Out experience was very good and the staff at Higjmarket were all very friendly and helpful .

From the moment my wife first entered Highmarket House for respite care all the staff and management introduced themselves to greet her which was a nice experience. Everyone gave her a very warm welcome without being overpowering. This gave her a nice understanding of what it could be like being
away from home.
Each member of staff explained who they were and advised her of what they could do for her. This ranged from from the Mangers right down to the handyman, receptionist, etc which put my wife at ease from day one.
Such a lovely greeting.
The home is so well placed for easy access and certainly meets with the family approval. The whole home is very pleasantly designed and decorated extremely well, and best of all it is kept spotlessly clean and tidy.
My wife's room is very spacious and fully equipped for her requirements.
The staff are all very caring and meal times are excellent. Choice of food is the best we have seen in comparison to other homes.

I can't thank or praise ALL the staff at Highmarket enough for the care they have shown both to my mother and myself for my mother's respite care. Not only caring but efficient, competent and compassionate. They worked tirelessly to get my mother discharged from hospital in a different county and
welcomed her warmly making her short stay a pleasant experience for both of us. She loved her room and thought she was in a hotel and not a nursing home! I was impressed with the whole set up and layout in the home, from security, laundry care, cleanliness, nursing care, personal care, meals, activities and managers all friendly yet professional. Most of all my mother was happy.

This was mum's second stay at Highmarket as she recovered from a stroke.
She loved her stay and for as much as she was keen to go home, she commented she would really miss the staff. In particular Luca and Alyesha who did so much to make her stay comfortable and relaxing.
Even though mum was
following a strict puréed food regimen, every effort was made to ensure she was offered enticing nutrient dense meals.
All in all a comfortable and most enjoyable 'holiday'.

I just felt I had to write and express my sincere thanks to all at Highmarket for making my mother's first 3 weeks at the home so happy. In that time she has improved both her physical and mental well being enormously, and is now eating like she used to!!! There is a comprehensive range of
activities on offer every day and my mother particularly enjoys the group crossword puzzles and 'silver' spinners sessions. By way of an example, on returning home at the weekend she positively leapt over the doorstep which she previously has struggled with. So a BIG thanks to all the staff - there are too many to mention in person but a special word of thanks to Ross for being so welcoming and encouraging my mother to get much fitter, and a particular member of staff and her team for the wonderful care she is now receiving. Well done to you all and thank you.

We have used respite a few times, we found the room, and access to her patio has been very good. She has developed some good friends, and got involved with suitable activities. Levels of cleanliness is very good. It's likely mum will go back again soon!

My mother broke her hip back in March and after spending some time in hospital, I had to find her respite, as she was going downhill in hospital. After visiting Highmarket House, they sent a nurse to assess her and she was transferred within 24 hours. My mother was very sceptical, as she was very
anti going into a care home. The staff were very welcoming and and couldn't do enough for her. It took her a few weeks to settle but after 9 weeks she asked if she could stay and didn't want to go home. She enjoys the company of staff and residents and is looked after so well. She enjoys the food and has a glass of wine with her meal. The staff go out of their way to make her feel special and look after her every needs. As a family we know she is safe and being well looked after, most importantly she is happy. We enjoy going to visit her in the bistro with coffee, drinks and cakes available. Thank you Highmarket House.
