I came for my 2-week stay in Ferndown Manor Care Home from July 3rd to July 19th 2025. Surroundings are beautiful, and I loved the garden very much. The caring staff were so good and nothing too much trouble. Exemplary! I appreciated the coffee cake and anything one wanted at all times. Staffing very good. Activity folk are excellent at all lengths and abilities. The patience of all staff was amazing!! (As I had been in the caring system myself) Food was a little nursery style. Butched and puds very good. Not much fruit, though. Very efficiently served and cleared away. Room was good (room meal time please). Clean at all times. I was able to get around on my 3 wheeler, too. Thank you. 6 stars ******
A brilliant thank you to the customer relations manager and her support staff for being so welcoming and professional in their approach. Nothing too much trouble. Also a big thank you to the nursing staff who were so diligent and compassionate during my stepmother's brief stay.
We found the facilities & staff were very helpful & obliging. Nothing is too much trouble. My dad has excellent treatment & help here during his 2-month stay. When he departed, there was total care & respect to him & we found everyone to be compassionate & caring. Thank you to everyone for everything.
We viewed several homes in the area and my sister her husband a decent one we all agreed on this one. Definitely not disappointed the staff are all very friendly and approachable for and queries that we have regarding Mums care and well-being your always greeted by a friendly receptionist and the management are particularly good at sorting out any questions you have. Mum has top level care and is invited to join in on any activities that are happening on that day, there is always something good going on with the activities staff. The home is always clean and smells good unlike some that I have visited and the coffee shop is a good area for a chat with other residents families. Mum seems to be happy staying at the home and did make some nice friends when she first moved there. All in all 10/10.
Mum has stayed at Ferndown Manor several times over the past three years for respite and has settled in really well. She has found all members of staff very friendly and caring. Food and facilities are are also very good.
My mum has been in Ferndown Manor for just over a year now, and she is very happy. There are always lots of lovely activities for her to take part in, she particularly likes music and the visits from various performers and loves animals. As a family, we are so grateful that mum is able to live here as she is safe, happy and very cared for. Ferndown Manor has a very friendly atmosphere and all the staff across the board are amazing. Thank you all so much.
The Manor is a spacious and pleasant environment. It is always clean and neat, and the staff are always pleasant. The arrangement of the rooms from a visitor's point of view could do with reviewing, as there is generally not a visitor's chair, and if there is you can only sit on the other side of the bed and if there is not you have to sit on the bed.
Ferndown Manor and all the staff continue to be amazing in all the care, understanding, provision of entertainment and activities for my mother in law. Their support to her and her needs and to us as a family at a distance goes above and beyond. My mother in law has flourished since becoming a resident at Ferndown Manor which is all attributed to the comments above.
Ferndown Manor is an excellent care home. The management and all members of staff are always kind, helpful and extremely supportive. My mother has had several respite stays over the past year and l have had the pleasure of getting to know many of her carers. The home is clean, well run and offers so many things such as hairdressing, chiropody, a lovely coffee shop, various activities for the residents and their families, and delicious, varied nutritious meals. l felt that my mother was always safe, well cared for and treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Thank you to everyone.
Mum and I have found the staff to be caring and kind towards her. She is comfortable and looked after her well. However mum would love to be able to chat with a staff member each day, although she realises that the staff are very busy.
Mom moved into the home in June 2024. Since that date she has settled in well enjoys the activities and is much more like 'My old mum'. The care given is exemplary and always given with a smile.
Generally happy with the care dad receives. The staff take time to get to know him and tailor the care accordingly. Minor concerns about the inconsistency of activities on offer, this is due to unavailability of staff, particularly at weekends. Food seems good and plenty of variation. Facilities starting to show their age although maintenance staff are excellent. Non-care staff (chefs, reception, housekeeping) all show care and compassion to residents. Management often invisible.
Huge thanks to the managment team and all your brilliant staff (including the chefs and catering staff) who took care of my husband whilst he stayed with you for respite during September. He hasn't stopped talking about how wonderful everything and everyone were - so much kindness came his way making his 'holiday' a real pleasure, he was very reluctant to leave. This all helped our family and myself to cope with my hospitalisation knowing that he was safe, happy and so well cared for in such a beautiful home from home. Please relay our heartful thanks to all.
A very welcoming rest home, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are always happy and efficient, everywhere clean and tidy. My mum came out looking better than when she went in. The food was good (including the cakes!) and well received. Her only gripe was being woken up at 22.00 for her medication - she's used to taking it at 20.00.
I have no complaints about any of the staff or the way I am treated. I am very happy here.
Excellent care home, the team build great relationships with the patients and families, becoming an extended part of your family as well. The home is always clean and staff do an excellent job helping the families cope with the difficult circumstances their loved ones are experiencing. Highly recommend the home.
The staff at Gould Ward were excellent, caring, kept my updated regarding my mother's dementia. They should be rewarded they all went the extra mile. All staff at Ferndown Manor always polite and smiling. Please give everybody a good pay rise as they are the front of the team.
Overall very good experience
I have really had a good experience staying at Ferndown Manor Care Home. The level of care has been first-class. Social activities were really enjoyable as I usually do not attend any when I am at home. I shall miss the company and staff and hope to come for respite again.
