View Full Details of The Marbrook CentreThe Marbrook Centre is very welcoming and is clean and feels 'fresh'. It is well decorated and smells nice. Guests visiting patients are encouraged, and dogs are welcome too, which really benefited my mother. The food was excellent, and my mother looked forward to her meals. Most of the care staff were excellent and kind, and considerate. A few were rude and snappy, but the others made up for this. Unfortunately, sometimes my Mum's wishes were not followed, and it was different to see a GP whilst in the care home.
The management go above and beyond their remit to ensure the best possible person-centred care is delivered to my son.
We were referred to the Marbrook centre from another care home. I was initially worried that it was a couple of hours away and my wife would be lonely there. However once we arrived staff were friendly, facilities were first class and it felt more like a hotel than a medical facility. My wife was there for 8 weeks rehabilitation and I can honestly say she looked forward to returning after weekend breaks back home. Staff were attentive, caring and always had time for residents. Food was good and freshly cooked and catered well for her gluten intolerance. Communication was fantastic and visiting was a pleasure with nice gardens and free drinks. Overall a fantastic facility, well run with dedicated, caring staff.
Overall a very good experience. The plan was to get me as able to walk again with a stick which was achieved and to get me able to like certain foods, be able to wash & shower myself & to get me to a certain level to return home.
Wow. First impressions amazing! I cannot express how fantastic this whole team are, from reception, cleaning, support workers, physio teams, catering, you are all wonderful and we felt like part of a huge family and honestly felt loved. Nothing was ever too much for anybody and we had such a giggle with all. My husband's progress was huge within days and a simple thanks isn't enough. You are all the best!
I was at The Marbrook Centre after a brain infection and unable to walk. The staff were so caring, always checking on you and ready to help. After my stay in hospital, I was left with chronic pain and still suffer immense pain. The physios pushed me too far at times making my pain worse. On two occasions I ran out of two medications, I missed doses which I was worried about as it was my morphine and anti-seizure medication. Generally, I found my stay an improvement in my health.
I would be very happy to recommend The Marbrook Centre as an excellent rehabilitation centre. The staff were patient and super supportive of my mother despite her debilitating non-communicating condition caused after a major stroke.
What can I say - this place was my physical lifeline, I spent 12 weeks in hospital fighting for my life after getting GBS, then came to The Marbrook Centre June - October and omg I can't even express with words how incredible this place is. My OT and PT were just outstanding without them I wouldn't be where I am today. They made me believe in myself when some days I really didn't, supportive and passionate about what they do it shows every day. The carers well I can't name names but you know who you are I'm so grateful for you all, you're all incredible people and never change / I'm so grateful for you all making me feel so welcome, loved and cared for. Never made me feel degraded when I felt it myself at some points. The chefs well you're just truly amazing and never complained how much of a pain I was at times, literally nothing was a problem. One cleaner who became someone I looked forward to seeing she was just absolutely a beautiful soul. Thank you all for everything
My mum's stay was very stress-free for us. She didn't achieve her goals but that was due to sickness brought on by medication. She was treated with respect and kindness for which we were very grateful.
Amazing support, care and compassion at every stage of my daughter's stay at The Marbrook Centre. A great team, encouraging my daughter to exercise, focus on independence and positive outlook. They have really supported her confidence and have given her opportunities to be the best she can be.
I was a resident on the ground floor 'Eden'. Throughout my experience the staff have always given me 100%, the occupational therapy and physiotherapy team have done an amazing job at setting goals and helping me strive to complete them. Brilliant meals available for all different people so you won't be left out. The carers do an amazing job regarding mealtime and just give you support if required.
The professional are that my brother-in-law received whilst in The Marbrook Centre was outstanding. Thank you so much for all that you tried to do to help my brother-in-law achieve an improved life. Thank you.
On arrival at The Marbrook my wife was unable to get out of bed without assistance and couldn't walk following emergency surgery and a subsequent stroke. The whole Marbrook team have been outstanding, from the carers team, reception staff, and most importantly the psychology and therapists team. She is now walking with an aid, and can move out of bed and into the bathroom without assistance. We're very grateful to the whole Marbrook team.
From the first time I visited The Marbrook Centre I could see that my husband would be cared for. In the two weeks he was there all the staff showed respect and care but most of all they showed him love. He was protected and comforted to the end. I can't thank them enough for all the wonderful work they do.
During the all too short time my wife was at Marbrook (about a month) in the late stage of Alzheimer's disease the care and attention she received was beyond reproach. All the staff were marvellous from the management through to the nurses, carers, housekeepers, administrators and receptionists. It was a difficult time but the empathy and care shown to both my wife and myself was comforting and eased the journey we were on. The End of Life care was carried out with dignity and compassion and I am so glad my wife passed away in such a calm atmosphere at Marbrook. Thank you all so much.
Wonderful - The care staff and therapy team are simply amazing, including the housekeeping staff.
Marbrook has worked wonders for my husband over the 12 weeks he has been there. The speech, occupational and physiotherapists are so professional in their work but also very caring and kind in their approach and helped him improve very quickly. The carers are exceptional and couldn't do enough for him, along with the nurses, housekeeping and admin staff. The whole place has such a relaxed atmosphere, which is a huge asset to helping people get better. A huge thank you to you all.
From start to finish, the expereince was excellent. I was treated with care, compassion and dignity. The support staff were all superb as were the physio/OTS making a difficult time in my life bearable. The reception, admin and cleaning staff were also important and caring, looking after visitors and family and making everyone feel welcome. Overall, I couldn't think of a better place to spend such time. Thank you to everyone at The Marbrook for your support!
My husband is very settled in the home. The staff treat him with respect. The meals are very good. The staff are helpful and caring. I was reluctant to put him in a home at first but now feel happy that he is in a safe place with lovely people to care for him.
All of your staff from the minute you walk in the door are all lovely and friendly, can't do enough for you. Especially the physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapist and all of the cooks and the ladies and gents do all the housekeeping and all of them keep an eye on all the patients, which is amazing. Five star service all the way.
