Edwardstowe has been amazing. The nursing staff is giving 1:1 attention to both patients and family, with very good feedback.
The food is very good, the atmosphere very relaxed, and the interiors light and airy. It has changed my concept of nursing homes! Very relaxed, quiet and peaceful.

I regularly volunteer at Edwardstow court, sometime as a general volunteer and sometimes with my Therapy Dog. Anytime we are there, we are made to feel very welcome by the staff and it's an absolute delight to work alongside them to give the residents a nice experience.
Once of the main things I
love about Edwardstow Court is how so much of what happens is resident led eg I now teach BSL as the residents enjoyed a trial session and we now do it every fortnight. They want to be able to communicate with dignity.
I always leave feeling uplifted.

We are very happy with the service provided.

We found the staff to be truly wonderful, very helpful and caring. Edwardstow is a very clean, nicely furnished care home. It has a calming effect when entering the building. I cannot sing the praises of all staff highly enough. Greatly enjoyed my stay with them all.

The staff at Edwardstow Court are outstanding. Professional at all times, their kindness, courtesy, genuine appreciation of resident's and family/ carers needs, is exceptional and they are a credit to the OSJCT and their profession.

We moved my mum, who has dementia, into Edwardstow in April this year. Despite this being a difficult process for the family, the Edwardstow team were so kind, caring, informative and overall basically just brilliant from the start. It felt like I was leaving my mum in experienced and considerate
hands. Since my mum has been at the home, we have actually seen an improvement in her overall demeanour, whereas she was beginning to fade away at home. She is making friends and doing things that she would point blank refuse to do previously.
Whenever I visit her, I always feel that the atmosphere of the home is full of positive energy. The staff are generous in their kindness and I feel huge gratitude towards Edwardstow, the manager and his team.

Edwardstow isn't just a place of safety, but somewhere she is truly cared for as she deserves. The care team treat all the residents as they would their own family, they work very hard to ensure she has everything she needs; good food, a warm and cosy environment and plenty of activities to keep her
just busy enough. On top of that they take time to get to their residents and talk about their interests . They keep us up to date on everything and it's never a problem to just drop in and have lunch, or to take her out at a moments notice. The little on site cafe is a lovely space to be able to have privacy, whilst enjoying a coffee and a treat, and it is always clean and welcoming. I Highly recommend.

The layout, decor and equipment are perfect. Especially impressive is that the building is light and airy with soft colours encouraging a sense of peace and harmony. As a visiting friend said, 'it's like a first class hotel'. Not only is the cooking of the highest standard, the variety, presentation
and ease-of-eating of the food is an eye-opener for anyone caring for loved-ones with dementia - several soft portions on small plates in as many different colours as you can muster. Most obviously a care home needs carers who see their role as much more than just a job that earns them money. As well as being well-trained, they need to have empathy and understanding - neither of which is easy to keep up day after day on 12 hour shift. Edwardstow Court has them in abundance. PS My views are based on two weeks' respite care for both myself and my partner of some 57 years plus daily visits to be with her now that she is a permanent resident.

Edwardstow Court in this early stage of our families experience is an excellent residential care home. My mum was very nervous & from the first day, she has become happy & I have not seen her laugh & smile to so much for many years. Whatever you do please keep doing it. Thank you so much!

Edwardstow Court is a remarkable establishment and staff are exceptional. The care and attention given to my husband is remarkable. He only attends one day a week and looks forward to his time there.

We came to visit the day after she was released from hospital after her fall. Her face was badly bruised and cut she had lost a lot of weight. Didn't know my husband and me at all, had lost so much weight and wouldn't talk, that was in December. Since then she has improved so much in every way.
January she was more herself and by February she looked and talked as she always had, it is now a pleasure to visit. The staff are a delight.

I went to Edwardstow Court after hospitalisation for a severe bout of influenza. The facilities of the Court were entirely suitable for my needs, whilst basically, were to rebuild my strength and health in an attempt to return to my ability to live alone without help. Everything about the Court is
of a very high standard. There is an impressive and tasteful feel about everything, in the construction and fitting out. You get the immediate feeling that the people will be happy here, as I was in for a short time settling in, despite the illness. The atmosphere was aided by friendliness and companionship which residents and staff exceeded. A great home.

After a difficult time at home with my husband's worsening symptoms of Vascular Dementia, my family and I decided to enter him into the care of Edwardstow Court and have been delighted with his subsequent care and well-being. He has been treated with patience, dignity, and at all times kindness.

Excellent support and understanding plus amazing patience. My husband is a tall and quite fit 78 year old but his dementia is severe. He is constantly looking for food and is cunning about finding it even with his type 2 diabetes. The latter he does not understand now, although he has been on
medication for 17 years! The activities are great and with a willful escape artist, they understand he needs to get outside! My only concern is the presence of biscuits, breakfast marmalade etc always in the kitchen area which he can easily access when he says "I need to go to the loo!"

The atmosphere at Edwardstow is fantastic due to the caring, dedicated and cheerful staff. Residents are treated with care, respect and genuinely positive energy. There is a real emphasis on engaging families and friends of residents, alongside the wider community, which helps the home to feel open
and inclusive - not in any way cut off. The range of activities and outings on offer is a real asset. I've been impressed with the interface between local medical and nursing care, which means any issues or ailments are picked up quickly and managed well. Facilities are always spotless and mum's room is clean, modern and very comfortable. We particularly enjoy the gardens and the woodland walk, and the lovely cafe is a welcome space to host visitors. I highly recommend Edwardstow.

We found everyone at Edwardstow Court to be friendly and helpful, the accommodation was spotlessly clean and the food was cooked to a good standard. Plenty of options to mix and chat with other residents and staff in the cafe, garden and communal lounge.
