View Full Details of Bourne Wood Manor Care HomeBourne Wood Manor is modern with facilities as excellent as you might expect - good sized bedrooms, delightful restaurant, private dining room for loved ones' families, a cinema, bistro, hairdresser, and pretty gardens. However, the key thing about Bourne Wood Manor has nothing to do with its facilities but has everything to do with its staff. They are wonderful - kind, responsive and caring. As you walk along the corridors, whether you're a visitor or resident, you are always greeted by a warm smile and cheery hello. Staff are chatty and engaging with the residents, with the obvious aim of making everyone's time there as positive and rewarding as possible. They couldn't have cared better for my mother. And so I couldn't recommend it more for other people's loved ones.
My aunt has been at Bourne Wood Manor for nearly four years and her care has always been very good, but I was particularly touched by the extreme kindness, gentleness and thoughtfulness of her care over the last few weeks when she was in decline and eventually passed away. It must have been very distressing for the staff to see her declining but they were all absolutely sweet with her and, for example, happily went through the laborious procedure of hoisting her into a wheelchair when she said she wanted to get up, only to have to put her back to bed again 15 min later. It was very helpful for me and my wife to have medically-trained people to hand to advise on what she should take by mouth and to address breathing issues; and also to benefit from the weekly GP visits that the home have arranged. Altogether the care during her final week was faultless, so the five stars are much more well-deserved than many five-star ratings!
Mum has been in Bourne Wood for 2 1/2 years now and is so much happier and healthier than if she had stayed at home on her own. She tries to join in activities but advancing years and poor health make it hard however the staff really encourage her and she loves all the interactions with them. It's a great home with lovely staff all of whom deserve praise. All of them from admin to carer will muck in and help which is lovely to see.
My stepfather came into the home stressed, delerious and not in a good state. He is suffering from dementia and we were very concerned about finding the right care home to meet his needs and that he would settle well into. We have been delighted with the care that he has received here, after a few weeks he has settled in and now believes that he is an all-inclusive hotel. His only concern now is how he is going to pay for the hotel without his wallet!! Highly recommend.
The care in this home is excellent. Residents are treated well and looked after with a sensible, pragmatic and kind approach. Good resources for visitors and staff are helpful and interested in providing a great service.
My mother has just finished a wonderful two week respite stay at Bourne Wood Manor. I cannot recommend the place highly enough! From the client services manager, who could not have been more helpful with all of the initial information and getting Mum in and settled, to all the dedicated nursing team, the brilliant activities team, the catering team for the delicious meals, and the staff member who was so helpful on reception. They are just the nicest, most caring team of people. Thank you all for taking such good care of my Mum. She will be back!
I am very grateful for the care and attention I received when I first arrived, and have enjoyed my stay for the last 2 1/2 months. The exercises and activities especially the art have been great, and I have enjoyed walking round the garden each day. It has built my strength up again. So thank you to everyone for helping me and being able to return to my home once again!
After my grandparents suffered a steep decline in their health and capacity to live alone over the Christmas holiday period, we decided as a family that they should move into residential care, urgently. I spent an entire day touring all of the care homes the area and Bourne Wood stood out by miles, it is akin to a 5 star hotel. The team bent over backwards to get them moved in, without the need for them to be in separate rooms in a matter of days if not hours following my initial visit. The team and home at Bourne Wood are remarkable. Thank you!
I stayed in Bourne Wood Manor for just over 2 weeks for respite whilst my husband was recovering from a knee operation in Farnham Hospital. I thoroughly enjoyed the short stay enjoying the company with other residents and participated in many daily activities. The food was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful in providing help in all activities. My medication is significant and they managed this job well. I would recommend this care home if I needed a longer period of care.
My mum decided she wanted to go into a care home, so we looked at a few. Finally, we chose Bourne Wood Manor. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is delicious. My mum loves her spacious bedroom and looking forward to joining in all the activities that are provided. The Bistro is warm and welcoming where you can help yourself to drinks and pastries. You can also have a meal with your relative when visiting, if booked in advance. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The staff who helped us with arrangements were very helpful and thought of every little detail. I loved the welcome gift left in Mum's room for her arrival. So if you are looking for a care home this is the one you should choose.

Staff are always friendly and helpful when we visit. Mum has started to join in with the activities, so she is taking part and joining in.
Mum arrived in Bourne Wood Manor Care Home in November after seven weeks in hospital. Staff have been very friendly. From doing nothing in hospital, the entertainment team have encouraged Mum to join in all the activities. The bistro is an excellent place to meet and greet.

All of the staff are extremely helpful and able to put my mind at ease. All of the team know my wife's name, are always positive and caring. Any question or concern I may have is immediately answered and I can visit any time. The facilities are excellent and the selection of meals, really good. I am grateful to the staff at Bourne Wood Manor Care Home for taking good care of my wife.
Very light, airy, modern and clean. Staff are very kind and attentive. My sister's second visit for respite for her following a stay in hospital and she would not go anywhere else, why should she? It is very good.
This was the first time I had sought respite and the experience has been very good. Caring, responsive with a genuine feeling of compassion. My wife has benefitted from her stay.
My mother has been a resident of Bourne Wood Manor for more than two years and, despite advanced years and failing health continues to enjoy life and participates fully in activities and events in the home. She has always been very well looked after and definitely feels at home. As a family, we are thankful that we found the perfect care home for Mum where she is so comfortable and so well cared for.
My mother was due to be discharged from hospital but we had not had time to arrange a live-in carer, so we approached Bourne Wood. They were very helpful and quickly arranged respite care for a period of 4 weeks for my mother. Throughout her stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I noticed a positive change in my mother's physical appearance and they tried their hardest to get her to join in the numerous events they do every day, throughout the day. It was a huge relief knowing she was safe and being well looked after. She has now moved back home with a full-time live-in carer. I highly recommend Bourne Wood to anyone looking for a safe and caring place for their loved ones.
