View Full Details of Snowdrop HouseI was in desperate need for respite care for my father as his carer, my mum, was taken suddenly ill. The team at Snowdrop were brilliant. So welcoming and helpful, guiding this rookie through the process, welcoming my dad who had no idea what was going on or could understand. The home is excellent, everyone is looked after and the emphasis is on being welcoming and providing the care. I have no complaints and I am just grateful to the team for providing so much support at such a time of need
My aunt came to Snowdrop House following a dreadful experience in hospital. She was no longer able to care for herself, and as I live some distance away, I was unable to provide her with full-time care myself. From the moment she arrived, she was obviously much happier and more comfortable. She received excellent care from all the staff and spent her last few weeks in a lovely room with her own things around her. I couldn't fault the ways they looked after her in life and us after her passing.
From the moment we walked through the door at Snowdrop House, we knew we had found the right care home for my husband. It is bright, airy, spacious, and clean. We loved it straight away. The staff and management were friendly, smiling, and welcoming. A year on, we know we made the right choice. Any little niggles are handled promptly and with real care, which gives us confidence that he's in good hands. It's a well-run care home! One of the lovely highlights is the on site café, which offers hot drinks and delicious homemade cakes. It's a popular spot for both residents and visitors. I'm very grateful to the team at Snowdrop House for the compassion, attention, and professionalism they've shown over the past year. Knowing my husband is safe, respected, and well cared for means the world.
My father was recently a resident at Snowdrop House, where he was initially admitted for respite care. He received an excellent standard of care whilst he was there right through until end of life care was required. All of the staff at Snowdrop house were extremely caring and supportive of my dad, and myself throughout his stay. Towards the end of his life, the staff, from the managers to nurses and support workers treated him in a very sensitive, respectful and caring way. I have no doubt that dad was in the best place, and that in his final days, he was made as comfortable as possible. I also felt very supported by all the staff there - losing a loved one is never easy, but the staff on duty at the time of his passing were particularly sensitive, and ensured that dad was able to maintain his dignity until the end. I would particularly like to thank one member of staff - I will always be grateful for the compassion and sensitivity she showed to both my father and to me. Thank you.
Dad had such a positive experience during the 8 months he was at Snowdrop House. Right from the beginning it was clear that the place was efficiently run and that the management respected and valued their staff. There was good pre planning done before Dad arrived and there was alot of care taken to ensure his smooth transition from hospital. Dad's history was gained through life story work and I really felt that he was valued as a man with a lifetime of independent experiences. The catering is excellent at Snowdrop House with delicious meals provided 3 times a day and a wonderful self service cafe open all day with an ever changing array of cakes and treats. Mini golf, bowls, knitting club, men's club, church services, exercise classes and parties are some of the regular daily activities that go on with visits from singers, school children and even visiting animals! I have nothing but praise for all the kindness that dad received and will always be grateful for the top quality care.
Snowdrop House were wonderful at helping through every step of a difficulty journey for my uncle and aunt after my aunt was admitted to hospital. Always so helpful, supportive, kind, patient and it was really appreciated at a difficult and anxious time, dealing with multiple issues. Every since moving to Snowdrop they have received wonderful, tailored, thoughtful care. Thank you to everyone at Snowdrop House!
Very polite and kind staff. Very welcoming and very good with babies and dogs. Manager is very nice and all the staff and receptionists are super friendly. Very clean toilets and reception area, coffee and food on arrival.
Dad's care needs have changed since he entered Snowdrop House and the home has met these wonderfully by being flexible and proactive. Staff are friendly, caring and professional. The activities laid on are stimulating and creative and can be tailored to the residents' needs. Management are clearly excellent but needs to be more visible to residents' next of kin. Would highly recommend Snowdrop to anyone.
Always a pleasure to see mum have such excellent attentive care, in a friendly and responsive environment. Struck today by the effort that's gone into the surroundings over Easter; new furniture, window boxes and fresh flowers everywhere. A really uplifting home away from home.
Extremely happy with the customer service and support from one member of staff and everyone at Snowdrop. From our initial enquiry, viewing, assessment, and the day of arrival we were very impressed and well looked after.
Mum moved to Snowdrop House in November 2024. Moving mum from her own home was a difficult decision but it was obvious that her carers at home were struggling to help her with her mobility. Mum was assessed at home and her carers and I could tell straight away from his reactions to mum that Snowdrop House would be perfect for her. This was proved right - Mum moved in the next day and we haven't looked back! Mum is now on the Nursing ward and the care she is receiving is from a very kind and compassionate team and I would have no hesitation in recommending the home. The food is delicious and mum is always well presented, even while bed bound. The staff are cheerful and interested and respectful of their clients.
My experince and observation of the home, management and staff generally had proven to be very good. The care that my father had received had often surpassed all expectations. Sometimes action has not been as quick as hoped for in various situations, but this could be due to miscommunication. Overall, very relaxed and they do a great job. Thoroughly recommend and very pleased generally.
My mother initially went into Snowdrop House for a 2 week respite period for back pains. Her initial settling in period was extremely difficult for her, but with the wonderful help of the staff and management she quickly began to find her feet and enjoy living there. In fact her two week respite has turned into her new full time home. I can't speak highly enough of Snowdrop House, it really is a wonderful place for my mum to live. I would say she's done more living in Snowdrop House than she did in the last 5-10 years of living in her own home.
Dad had to come into care at very short notice 23rd December 2024. A traumatic time for Dad and us as a family - but the absolute kindness, care and respect for Dad has and continues and to be faultless. We are so very grateful to every member of the staffing team - and Dad tells me how very kind everyone is to him.
Thank you for looking after my dad during his respite stay with you in Jan 2025. Your staff are friendly and professional and your purpose-built care home is well designed with an open and airy feel to it. There's a lovely warm and caring atmosphere throughout Snowdrop House from the cafe on the ground floor up to the cosy seating areas, dining rooms and bedrooms on the other floors. My dad regained strength during his stay and was able to return home after 2 weeks of care.
My late husband was a resident at Snowdrop House for 18 months. I cannot praise the staff enough for how well they looked after him especially during his last few days. In the early stages he loved sitting in the cafe having a homemade cake and cup of tea. It is such a homely and welcoming care home which we will be ever grateful for.
I was seeking a local nursing home for my Dad, one which could provide the 24-hour care that he required, for the final few weeks of his life. The Snowdrop customer care team visited his home first and was exceptional, he was treated kindly and he was put at ease immediately. They offered a room the very next day and made all the arrangements, making it a very easy decision for me and the rest of our family. Once at the Home, their ethos to care and attention was seen throughout all members of staff, whether the care team, nurses, management, catering, cleaning team, or groundsmen, every single person had a smile, would say hello to you every time you visited, every person knew Dad by name too. Their activities are endless and exciting, quickly put not only me at ease, with the expert care 24 hours a day, but most importantly, he was so comfortable there and it allowed him to be himself. Amazing team, you would be very welcome if you chose Snowdrop for the care of a loved one
Such a beautiful, welcoming care home. You are welcomed by a friendly face, management always says hello and asks me how I am. The cafe has homemade cakes and I've noticed the ambulance crews also pop by. My friend loves being here and calls the carers her family, they are so kind and thoughtful. There is always something to do, I love visiting I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
You have looked after Mum so well in her final days. You have been supportive of us and Mum and treated her with dignity and compassion. All of the staff on the second floor are fantastic, so kind, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you.
Snowdrop House has exceeded my and my family's expectations. This was Mum's second care home and this was obvious this was the place for her. She is very happy and I genuinely feel she is loved and treated with so much dignity. It breaks my heart that she is no longer at home but I truly feel she now feels at home there.
