View Full Details of Mountview Care HomeMy father-in-law has been extremely well looked after during his stay at Mountview. It gave us the peace of mind to go away and enjoy a much-needed holiday knowing he would be safe and happy.
Mountview Care home has a lovely feel to it and the staff are friendly and approachable. The staff are always on hand to make my mother's stay at the home as comfortable as possible. Lovely layout for a care home, but I've noticed what lets it down is the TV/Lounge which looks very dated and needs some work doing as most of the residents seem to sit in there a lot including my mother. Also there seems a lot of light bulbs are not working walking to my mothers room making areas dark for my mother to safely walk to her room. Also quite a few furniture and fittings need attention. But overall apart from a few basic maintenance issues the home is lovely.
From our initial enquiry the support and communication was and is excellent. The staff are always helpful proactive and caring. Mountview is exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and homely. The thought that has gone into the home is exceptional to ensure the residents have a wide variety of rooms to access and activities to join in including the gardens. Thank you to management, receptionist, domestic staff, chefs and staff.
Our neighbour moved in for 2 weeks and was instantly at home. She has decided to stay. We have found the staff to be friendly, professional and very visible on our weekly visits.
After being gravely ill in hospital for 5 weeks, my friend came to Mountview as a bridge between hospital and home. The care he has received has been excellent. The care home facilities are very good, but it is the professionalism and attitude of the staff that is worthy of the highest praise. From day one he has felt safe and care for and has been treated like a family member.
Following a 5 1/2 week in Leicester Hospital, I was transferred to Mountview for a 4 week residency. I was greeted by the staff and taken to my room where I was settled in. Initially I needed help showering and with general care. I used a frame for walking the first week, then graduated to using a walking stick but now having regained confidence, I became self sufficient with self care and mobility. My residency finished and I cant thank the staff enough for restoring my life.
Craehome is spotlessly clean. Staff are helpful, pleasant, cheerful No concerns only changing floors has been unsettling for mum.
Dad originally went into Mountview for two weeks of recuperation after a pelvic fracture, which he then extended for another two weeks. Two days after he'd gone back home he declared he wanted to go back full time which was a great comfort to us as we knew he'd be safe there. He really enjoyed living at Mountview as the staff were very friendly and very caring and he was well looked after. The nice thing is that over the year he was there, there was minimal turnover of staff which created a very nice caring atmosphere. There are activities on offer every morning and afternoon but it's not a problem if you don't want to get involved. The staff were exemplary during Dad's last few weeks, making sure he was comfortable and also making sure any family visitors were fed and watered. The homemade biscuits and cakes are very good! I cannot thank Mountview enough and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
Sadly, our mother was hospitalised for 4 weeks following several falls. On arriving at hospital, where she had travelled unaccompanied by any staff from the care home, I was shown photographs of a large bedsore on her buttock (a 'never event' according to the NHS) and another on her heel. These were obtained during her time at Mountview. We were told by the home that she had Impetigo (a highly contagious skin disease caused by poor hygiene). Even if this were the case, it still reflects appallingly on the home. Cosmetically, this home ticks most of the boxes, and some of the staff who work there are genuinely caring individuals. Unfortunately, our experience was devastating and highlighted the shortcomings of care, empathy and compassion that she was often met with. Avoid!
My sister who sadly passed away in Mountview in December had been a resident for nearly 6 years in all that time she was cared for with total love and affection by all staff at all times. I never heard her complain about anything and for me, I couldn't think of anywhere better to have a loved one reside either for short or long-term care. These places come at an expense but in my experience, Mountview is exceptional in its approach to caring for those who need it.
Mum has been at Mountview for 6 months now and we are so pleased that we chose this care home for her. The staff do a great job. They are cheerful, friendly and supportive to families as well as residents and are very caring, they know Mum so well and she enjoys living here. Mountview has a wonderful family feel about it that makes it a truly welcoming and homely place to live.
I have just completed the repatriation of my 75-year-old sister back to the UK after 55 years in Canada. I visited 8 homes to review and compare. Mountview came tips by miles. The home is clean, bright and cheery. The staff are friendly, smiley and very helpful - great place.
Dad appears to be very well cared for. The staff are always welcoming whenever I visit. The building is very well designed for ease of access and social areas. Knowing the high standard of care has greatly reduced stress levels for Mum and the rest of the family.
My father was 100 years old when he came to the care home and was there for 10 weeks before he sadly passed away. Every single member of staff treated him with care, empathy and respect. making his short stay there as pleasurable as it could have been. The home is very clean and well furnished, the rooms are lovely and nothing is too much trouble in making his room 'home from home'. The staff cheerful and positive and always something happening, and plenty of entertainment. Family welcome to come and visit at any time. Would highly recommend Mountiew to any friends.
The care and attention my husband received during the two months he was with you was exemplary. I would not like to pick out any individual as all from management down to cleaner were kindness itself.
The home really is a home from home. Staff are caring, kind and compassionate often going above and beyond creating an atmosphere of extended family. Rooms are large, well-equipped and nicely decorated. The home is spacious, has exceptional facilities and is always clean and tidy. The food is freshly cooked and is varied, healthy and delicious. I am always impressed with the home and its staff when I visit my aunt. I have no hesitation in recommending Mountview.
My mum has been in Mountview since 2018 and has been very happy there. The staff, facilities and activities are excellent providing Mum with a safe and secure environment in which to live. In my opinion, Mountview is an excellent residential care home which I would strongly recommend.
Very friendly staff. Great enthusiasm!
The home is a lovely place. Most of the staff are lovely and really good at their job. Some, it would be nice if they would be a little more welcoming. I understand if it a times a very challenging job. The receptionist at the weekends is lovely and always has a welcoming smile. Overall, a nice home.
I was really glad to see where my sister was living, as I was concerned because she moved from very near me in Rochester, Kent to live near her son who lived in Loughborough. But once I had visited and seen the care home, her lovely room and all the facilities there were for her to use, I felt so relieved and happy, especially when I met some of the staff and saw her laughing with them when I arrived. All the staff were very professional and caring.
