I have friends that are resident in Timken Grange Care home, Duston. Some of my friends have
been resident over 5 years, the last one John a resident
the past three weeks, he loves being looked after by the carers. Visiting the care home gives my life structure and takes away some of the
loneliness. When entering the care home you are greeted with a smile from Jane or Kim, both ladies have a pleasing manner. The care home is spotlessly clean and unlike other homes that I have visited does not have any unpleasant odours. The activities in the care home are many and varied. One most popular are the hymn singing, carpet bowls, and poetry club where residents compose their own poems and read them out.I have found the meals at the Grange very good, made with fresh produce and
served hot. Being a visitor over 65 yrs and live alone I get invited to Sunday lunch which I appreciate and look forward to. In short I would become a resident of the Grange in Louise the Manageress's excellent care.

My mother has Alzheimer's and had a negative experience at a previous care home once her illness progressed and she needed additional assistance with personal care as her communication abilities affect her behaviour when frightened and confused. Louise and her team were breath of fresh air.
They
saw a lady with difficulty and confusion not an inconvenience and worked at getting to know her and adapted her care as an individual. This has allowed her to form close bonds with the staff. As a family navigating this scary path they were so very supportive particularly to my father and reassuring that what was happening to Mum was not unusual.
Mum loves music and her sense of rhythm remains strong although she may not be able to join in with all the activities she is encouraged to be close so is included. We as a family have no hesitation in recommending Timken Grange.

For just over 1 year now, we have received nothing but helpful, considerate and friendly service from a wide group of staff and management a like. Communication has been good when needed and the care provided has been of a very good standard.
Thank you to all concerned, making this transition into
a care home for our mother much easier for us.

When I first walked into Timken Grange it was obvious this was a happy place to be with high levels of staff morale. The interaction between staff and residents was relaxed and friendly. The activities board isn't just there for show - activities and trips out are available if the residents want to
participate. Residents are encouraged to take part to reach their full potential.
Visitors are welcomed and every Friday there is a joint gathering where visitors and residents meet for a chat over cakes sand hot drinks.
Before retiring I worked in a mental health rehabilitation unit as a senior instructor so I'm used to assessing work atmospheres.
I'm grateful to ALL the staff at Timken Grange, both frontline carers and others who keep the place running, for their care which they give to my wife now I can no longer give her the quality of life she deserves.
May your God always be with you.

Mum has been in the care home for over five years and during that time enjoyed outings and taking part in many different activities. Mum was a great cook and one year they helped her make and decorate her own Christmas cake,. She was always treated with kindness and respect. She often teased and had
a laugh with the carers and they understood her personality and showed a genuine goodness for her. During the past few months when mum's health started to decline the staff have been supportive and caring, giving regular updates and support when we visited. They made sure she still looked nice and had her nails done, something she was very particular about. During her final days they sat with her when we were not there, chatting away and playing music. Sadly mum died a week ago, again the staff were supportive and kind, and saddened by her death. I would like to thank all the management and carers for making mum's time at the home a happy one.

My Mother is so happy at Timken Grange . She joining in all the activities and is looking very well and healthy.
The biggest difference in her is her mobility she is walking without any aids and was trying to jog at the weekend with the visiting grandchild.
It is a very happy environment and i can
see her thriving already.

My Mother in Law has been resident in Timken Grange for over 6 months now. During what has been a challenging time for her coming to terms with the loss of her husband of nearly 60 years the help and support of all staff, without exception, has been consistently excellent. The patience, empathy and
understanding in evidence at all times is very much appreciated by the family.
The care home is well maintained with good staffing levels and always very welcoming during visits.

My mother-in-law has been resident for over 3 years. She has now passed away but over the time she seemed happy and content to be in the care of Timken Grange. Her health deteriorated fairly rapidly and the staff assisted by Marie Curie cared for her and made her passing peaceful and calm for the
family members present.

Nan spent nearly 3-and-a-half years at Timken Grange and we could not have asked for better care for her. The staff were caring and patient throughout even when her dementia made her difficult or angry. There were always activities taking place that she was encouraged to be part of and she enjoyed
the food and tipple trolley!! Her room was clean and cost as were the other areas and I know she enjoyed being in the lounge for the company of others. Thank you to all at Timken Grange for the work you do.

The entire team, regardless of position here, go above and beyond to ensure my Mum, Uncle and Auntie receive the best possible care. Their attention to detail is second to none, absolutely nothing is too much trouble. It truly is a 'home from home' that gives family members such peace of mind
knowing their loved ones have the care they need.

My father went to live in Timkin Grange Care home in August 2023 at the age of 95. From the moment he moved, his complicated needs were met with so much kindness and empathy and Dad was treated with respect and dignity always.
This All-Star Team are amazing in the way they connect with the
residents despite the daily pressure and high demand of everyone's needs. I have deep respect for you all and I am eternally grateful to you for your ongoing support to all of our family and understanding during a very difficult time. I know that he appreciated your care and patience, although he probably didn't think to say so due to his mental illness. Thank you so much.

Dad was there for a couple of years, the carers who looked after him did a fantastic job they made him feel at home there. The management team was just as good, they couldn't have been more helpful. Towards the end of his life the whole team bent over backwards to make him, myself and the family
comfortable. Thank you to the Timken team.

Almost immediately after Mum arrived the staff got a smile out of her. The staff at Timken Grange are amazing, and extremely well trained. I appreciated the communication particularly as I live at least 2 hours away from Northampton. On the day mum passed a phone call in the morning, the message
clear and professional, had me making my way to Timken Grange in time along with two of my daughters to be with Mum as she passed, a promise I had made to her if I possibly could. I can never thank the carer who made that call enough. A thoroughly lovely touch was the comfort box Timken Grange placed in Mum's room for the use of the family after a palliative diagnosis, it was so appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommending Timken Grange, the registered care manager is enthusiastic, full of energy and has demonstrable knowledge. Her values clearly filter down through the troops and this created absolute confidence that our mum was in a safe and positive environment.

Just wanted to say that the care you offered not only to my father in his final weeks but us his children too was outstanding. We can not thank you enough for the care you gave him in the past two years after his dementia sadly made living at home impossible. You truly made it his home and we were
also welcomed with open arms including the family pets! All staff were absolutely superb in their interactions with Dad and showed great respect and consideration. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we can not fault the level of communication from the home on any matters relating to Dad. Sadly the final two weeks we saw your staff shift up another gear in their care especially when it became clear his time was very near. I am only too pleased that Dad was able to pass with not only your staff but also us at his bedside. This gave great comfort to us both and we were under no illusion that the home staff were as affected by his death. I would have no doubt in recommending Timken Grange.
