View Full Details of Chandler CourtLovely caring environment. Staff kind and helpful. Always appears plenty of staff. Mom very happy here. Love the cafe to have coffee & cake with mom.
Having had the shock of my mother in law having a stroke in Jan 25, we as a family have had a fairly torrid 6 months. Having completed the hospital merry go round and reaching the end of her treatment cycle, we then had to make tough decisions re her future care. We visited 6 homes before selecting Chandler Court, and to be honest it was the stand out candidate. The customer relations manager was very clear about the home's ethos and benefits during our guided tour and made the whole process pretty seamless from a selection perspective. Now being realistic, no movement of a loved one into care is easy and there is a bedding in period, but I have to say this has also gone a lot better than we ever thought it might and she is now settled and happy in her new surroundings. Any issues we had or have are quickly sorted (as I said it's a bedding in process from both sides) and we feel more than comfortable raising issues if and when they come along. Great room, caring staff and well managed.
My dear father has been in Chandler Court for a year this week and we have been so happy and grateful for all the love and care from all the caring and lifestyle teams he has received. In particular, an exceptional team of committed and genuine people. He has had so many health challenges and we know he is so cared for, treated as family and truly loved and respected. This week they made him the most beautiful cake and trays of sandwiches for his family and friends celebrating his birthday. Far exceeding the call of duty and we appreciate it so much. Thanks to everyone.
I need round the clock care and attention. So that my full time carer/wife can have a break we decided I needed to go to a care home for 2 weeks respite. From the time we first enquired, through assessment, to arriving and my stay the staff we came across were all kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. And the medication I require at specific times during the day was always ready' I will be quite happy to recommend this care home.
My mother stayed at Chandler Court for 18 days on a respite stay. All the staff we came into contact with were kind, polite and helpful. The room was very spacious, clean and had everything she needed. The activities put on each day were varied and enjoyed by all the residents. It was lovely to have the coffee shop there with an array of drinks and cakes, available to residents and visitors free of charge. She said that all the food was delicious with a good choice of starters, main courses and deserts throughout the week. Although she experienced a fall on her last day, the staff were fantastic in coming to her aid and keeping her calm until the ambulance came. Fortunately the injury was not as bad as it looked and she was back home later that day.
A friendly, and understanding, initial conversation about needs and processes. The room allocated was clean and well lit ( my wife has partial sight and is living with dementia). My wife was in respite care for 18days whilst I was on holiday. Reports from friends and family who visited were always complimentary (though one mentioned that they had to wait while my wife finished one of the activities in which she had become engrossed! ). The welcoming and helpful atmosphere ran throughout the home. All staff were helpful and respectful to the client and visitors.
My mother had to go into care and have a nurse bed. We needed to arrange this urgently and Chandler Court staff especially one member of staff, were extremely responsive and excellent and had it all organised in a few days. My mother was looked after well and the nursing staff were excellent and supportive all the way till she passed away and we're then very kind and supportive in helping us deal with it. My father has also recently been admitted there and has bad dementia a d is on the dementia ward where the staff seem very good and hopefully he gets the help he needs. Overall the home is very nice and modern, staff and food and amenities are great. Definitely recommended.
Everyone has made the whole process of viewing to admission smoth and comfortable. One member of staff in particular was so welcoming and informative on our inital tour. Another member of staff did the inital assessment was so calm, and engaging with Nan and informative and supportive. Two further members of staff both team leaders have been fabulous liaising with us regularly, discussing any concerns and going through Nan's care needs and always on hand for any queries or to check on progress and medication during the transition period. All the carers have been so welcoming, caring and loving towards Nan and all family members when visiting. Everyone has welcomed children visiting and supportive when it becomes problematic leaving Nan. The food has been brillant, head chef helped us and did food for Nan's 95th birthday as well - a wonderful spread and such lovely food as well. Two staff members have been Fab with daily activities and engaging Nan daily. Would recommend Chandler Court to anyone for dementia care.
My father went into Chandler Court to give my mum a break. We didn't expect him to love it so much ! The staff were amazing. The care and attention given to him was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble ! He loved the meals, the choices were great. The entertainment schedule was varied he was encouraged to join in and really enjoyed it. His over all demeanour improved I hate to say this but he was happier than at home ! Great to be able to write something positive !
My mum came to Chandler Court for 3 weeks respite care. She was not keen to go initially, but settled quickly, and was super impressed by how kind and helpful the staff were. The communication with us was good and I would recommend it to anyone looking for respite care for a relative.
In Chandler Court they have a wish list, my mum made a wish to Ski and on the 7th January 2025, Chandler Court made that wish happen. My mum looked so happy. It was her life long wish and Care UK made it happen. I can't thank everyone involved enough. Both my parents are in Chandler Court and I can't thank all the staff enough for their care and compassion to both mum and dad. You made lovely memories not just for mum but for all our family to remember.
My husband was failed by this home during respite in September. When he returned home after 10 days his hygiene had been so poor he had a dreadful skin rash requiring medical intervention and treatment for 5 days to resolve. Despite the Homes own records stating his compliance and minimal input needed he was only showered twice during 10 days. He only took part in activities twice and did not see fresh air for the whole time. After an investigation and input from the Safeguarding team the Home agreed that the care had fallen short of what was promised. The dementia wing is fairly new and needs a lot more knowledge and understanding of dementia in order to support those relying on them. There seemed to be an over reliance on agency staff resulting in poor communication - my husband was repeatedly referred to by the wrong name which I was told was due to agency staff. This is on the surface a beautiful home but in my opinion falls short of providing good quality dementia care.
My wife's move into care was processed with dignity and consideration. It has been a very difficult transition for my wife, her condition not helping her emotional state. All staff involved have been extremely kind, understanding and proactive in sourcing workable and effective solutions to provide comfort and reassurance. Although it has taken some time for her to settle the patience of the caregivers has been outstanding. Communication and feedback have been first-rate. The team involved with my wife's care have always made time to talk to me, answer questions and happy to discuss future steps and involve me in care planning. They have also offered me support acknowledging the issues associated with coming to terms with placing a partner in care. No one wants to be in this position. But I am secure in the knowledge that my wife is safe, cared for, and treated with dignity.
We had to move my mother from her previous care home as her needs changed. At such a difficult time, I came across Chandler Court when looking for somewhere to move mum to. From my initial telephone enquiry and visit, to today, I have been immensely impressed by the professional, compassionate way I (and more importantly my mum) have been treated. The staff are amazing. Mum loves all of the activities, especially any with dancing, and popping to the coffee shop when family and friends visit her. The move to Chandler Court has been positive for mum and for me. Thank you.
We have been very impressed with Chandler Court so far. The room is very nice and all the personalisation was completed as promised before admission. Communication has been very good with us from assessment to admission. Staff seem very attentive and mum seems to be settling well.
The whole process of pre-admission was very well arranged and my wife's admission assessment was very sensitively handled. Once my wife was accepted for a place, the exchanges of information were very clear and sensitively dealt with. We had the chance to see my wives proposed room and asked what we would like to see in the way of pictures etc. We brought clothes etc prior to admission to make the day of admission easier for us all. Everything that was promised was done perfectly. The day of admission could not have gone any better and thanks to the efforts of your team, my wive seems to be settling very well. We are extremely pleased with everything so far at Chandler Court. Thank you all so much.
When my uncle needed to move into a care home, I wanted that care home to be Chandler Court and - what can I say - they have not disappointed. The staff have been consistently kind, supportive and helpful and have ensured that my uncle settles into his new home; communication from the team has been great, including our first Resident of the Day call. The food at the home is of a consistently high standard and alternatives are always available at request. Thanks to all the team for making a difficult time for the family that much easier to navigate.
My three week respite was catered for very well. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble to them. The activities were excellent, but you were not pushed into anything you did not want to participate in. Overall, a good standard was achieved, even my visitors were very impressed with the care home.
Dad has been at Chandler Court for a couple of months or so now. My first impressions were of a friendly caring homely place. Those first impressions have been proved so right. It's taken time for Dad to settle in, but he is now happily settled well cared for, and is getting involved in more of the activities. He loves his food and Chandler hits the mark here too, indeed I've joined him for his birthday and Father's Day and was impressed on both occasions. He particularly likes the coffee shop on the ground floor. Friends and family members who have visited have also been impressed with what they've seen too. Dad hasn't yet been on an outing, but I'm hoping in time he will and I certainly have no concerns about him doing so. Thank you Chandler Court, you're an amazing group of people.
My Mum is very well looked after, she is treated by everyone as an individual and take time when they can to talk to her to get to know her as a person. Myself and family have peace of mind which helps us as well as our Mum.
