My Mum has been living in Lauder Lodge for 6 months now. She settled in very quickly and is very happy.
Staff at all levels and roles are fantastic. Everyone is friendly, attentive and helpful - nothing is ever any bother.
The care my Mum receives is excellent and she has nothing but good to say
about her experience there. She tells me she feels like she is living in a 5 star hotel rather than a care home.
On a personal level I feel confident and happy my mum is receiving the level of care she needs. I am contacted immediately if there are any concerns, or to ask my opinion on issues.

I visit 6 of our Religious Sisters and have Power of Attorney for four of them. They are all very happy with the care they receive annd I find all the staff very friendly although I am not a resident.

Mum has been a resident at Lodge Lauder for over 7 years. She has been well looked after by the staff during that time. She has always been treated with dignity and respect.
Mum has Dementia which has increased rapidly over the past few years. She had a bad few days over the Christmas period so been
in bed more.
It was her Birthday last week and thanks to the amazing staff her day was made extra special. Huge thanks to the staff who went over and above for Mum.

We find all of the Staff at Lauder Lodge very accommodating and helpful. All the facilities are great and you can always find a member of Staff when needed. Nothing is ever a bother. Lovely cafe upstairs where you can enjoy a nice coffee in a relaxed environment.

This evaluation is based on 1-2 hour daily visits and discussions with staff that are relevant to my husbands care and well being. All grades of staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. Because of my husbands frailty and advanced dementia it is difficult to give a true evaluation to all options.
Any problems that have arisen have been dealt with to my satisfaction.

It is nearly three years since my mother entered the care home and during these years the experience has been consistently very good. Staff at all levels have treated my mother and her family with dignity and kindness. A marked contrast to the care home my father went into.
I am impressed with the
relatively low level of staff turn over over the past three years in an industry where staff retention is challenging. This consistency is to the benefit of residents who build up a relationship.

Please remember that my review covers my first five weeks at Launder Lodge and also my first five weeks in a care home. My experience is entirely positive. All staff whether carers, nursing, admin or cleaning etc, work wonderfully together with the aim of making life as good as possible for the
residents and patients. They actively seek out opportunities to help and work as a well-drilled yet informed team. I have felt welcome and an integral part of Lauder Lodge since first arriving here. Thanks to all of you who have supported me in the early days.

My dad has been a resident at Lauder Lodge for a couple of months now and has settled in incredibly well, largely due to the consistently kind, thoughtful and very person-centred care provided by all the staff. He is loving trying out a range of activities and thoroughly enjoying the catering. The
staff manage to be incredibly professional whilst also creating a welcoming, friendly and home-like atmosphere. We couldn't be happier with our experience so far!

I've been visiting Lauder Lodge with my therapy dog, Bonnie for the past year or so. We have visited other care homes before but this is by far the best.
When I visit I am able to observe staff interacting with residents and they are always so kind, supportive and professional, whether they
are admin, nursing, care, activity organisers or domestic staff.
Physically the Home is bright, well maintained and very comfortable with a range of activities provided for everyone, geared to their capabilities.
There's always a warm welcome from staff and residents when Bonnie and I visit. If I need to go into a home when the time comes I'd be very happy for it to be Lauder Lodge.

Helpful and caring staff who try their very best both for residents and visitors.
A lovely place, homely and well maintained.
Plenty of exciting things going on for the residents
- very creative activities timetable!

My husband became a resident in Lauder Lodge in Feb 2025 and although it's early days, so far so good. The food is lovely - varied and tasty and the staff are kind, caring and compassionate. I am kept well informed about my husbands care. There's a good and varied activities prog. The cafe is fab. I
looked at many care homes and L.L is streets ahead. I have already recommended L.L to a friend and she is hoping her father will become a resident soon.

Reluctantly we moved my mother into Lauder Lodge care home in January 2025. We had identified Lauder Lodge very quickly as our preferred option and have no regrets. My mother has Alzheimer's and her care has so far been second to none. She smiles, loves the staff and is very much engaged in her new
home. Mum does different activities every day and is encouraged to participate. The staff feel like family and they genuinely care about my mum. When there have been minor issues the staff have immediately dealt with these. Knowing my mum is being cared for so well is a great comfort.

My Aunt has settled well into Lauder Lodge. Her room is bright and looks out onto the secure garden where she likes to watch the birds & see the flowers come to life. All the staff are very helpful, caring, and very friendly both to my Aunt and her visitors. The staff keep in contact if she has had
a fall, had an appointment with the dentist or seen the nurse. There are a variety of activities planned each day which the residents can pick to join in. The music activities always seem to be very popular.
The only comment that my Aunt has is that the menu could be more varied. Recently the dinner menu was either curry or spicy bean burger but no plain option, for anyone who isn't good with spicy food.

I have been extremely happy with the staff and conditions and how my mother is being looked after.

I came to Lauder Lodge in the middle of January this year 2025. During the two months, I have found all the staff, including the carers and domestics staff always ready to help and so willing. The standards here are very high. The laundry is washed promptly and well ironed. The rooms are well
maintained and the menu offer a great variety. There is a real atmosphere of friendliness and loveliness. Those who visit me are also struck by the friendliness of the carers they meet at Lauder Lodge.

My mother is well cared for, and I feel that she is very safe in Lauder Lodge. Staff will keep us updated if she falls or is unwell. The staff are very kind and caring towards her, and she likes them very much. It has been difficult for her to move from her own home to the care home, and she is
still not completely settled. The rooms are very small.
Her mobility has deteriorated since moving there, she spends a lot of time sitting in a chair despite the staff encouraging her to move. Hopefully, when the weather gets better, she will be able to enjoy the garden and terrace and feel more at home. I feel that the food in the home, while delicious, could be more balanced with more salads, fruit and greens. She has put on weight, and her diabetes, which was in remission and was managed through diet for 20 years, has now become an issue, and she requires medication. I'm sure the kitchen would accommodate any requests from her, but she doesn't ask. A lower sugar menu and healthier snacks would be good to see
14 February 2025
Overall very good, in particular the nursing care. What could be improved is the time my mum sometimes has to wait for assistance after she presses her call button. This can cause frustration, particularly if she needs to go to the bathroom, as she doesn't want to have an accident. This has led to
her trying to go to the bathroom unaided and as a result she's fallen on more than one occasion. This is a safety concern.
Another issue is the food, it's often quite high fat and I'd like to see more healthy options e.g. fruit, veg, salad. My mum's type 2 diabetes has returned since she's been in the home as she's eating far more sugar.
30 January 2025
Management and care staff are very pleasant and helpful. From day one, seemingly cordial and cooperative with one another. There are many appreciative comments about catering and quality of food.
My one query was - until today - was it really necessary to communicate everything through our first
contact with a specific manager (who gained our appreciation and trust) rather than go directly to the relevant floor manager. It seemed, perhaps, to add to unnecessary communication stresses for those involved, though I was never given to feel that. Congratulations! Today, I know that as from January 2025, certain tasks will change.
Thank you for the sense of welcome extended each day in Lauder Lodge.

I recently visited Lauder Lodge with my friend to see her lovely Dad. As soon as I stepped into the building, I could feel the warmth and love. We were immediately greeted, my friend by name, at reception. Every member of staff we saw on the way met us with a smile and friendly greeting - many
stopping to ask my friend how she was. The building was cosy and clean and the ethos was enabling and positive. I was very impressed by the cafe, a lovely place to spend time with family. Lauder Lodge, and their wonderful, hard-working staff, are a credit to the company. I have told my family to book my room now!
