Mum has been a resident at Lauder Lodge for almost 2 years. In that time she has been treated with the utmost respect and care and mum would consider her carers as friends. The care home is maintained to a high standard with lovely adjoining gardens where activities are regularly arranged. mum is encouraged
to keep mobile by taking part in keep fit sessions and to socialise with other residents in the various activities that take place. Staff exude an atmosphere of calmness and nothing is ever to much trouble.

I have seen a lot of care homes over the years assessing appropriate care for friends and feel this is the best i have seen. this entails on entering the home the atmosphere is pleasent, warm and nicely decorated which means a lot. on entering the scent in the home is pleasant. the receptionist have
all been very helpful and making people relax and when show rounds are done they make you feel welcome. the cafe on the 2 flooor is always made available to friends ad family with great choice of food and drinks.

My Mum has been in Lauder lodge for a few weeks. All of the staff are excellent very helpful and attentive with both my Mum and all her visitors. The facilities are very good with lovey gardens and cafe for everyone to enjoy. There are various activities and they are constantly looking for different
things for the residents to give them variety.
Rooms are bright and spacious and everything is spotlessly clean.
We visited a few care homes and this was by far the best

I cannot speak highly enough of this care home. From the very first visit to then bringing my grandma, it was clear that the staff genuinely care about the residents and go above and beyond to create a safe, welcoming, and homely environment. The team are not only highly professional but also incredibly
kind, patient, and attentive. It's reassuring to see such genuine compassion in everything they do especially for my grandma. There are plenty of activities and social opportunities for everyone and my gran absolutely loves it. The communication is excellent, and nothing ever seems like too much trouble for the staff. Choosing a care home is never easy, but this place has been an absolute blessing for me, my family & definitely for my grandma Knowing our loved one is safe, comfortable.

My Mum has been living in Lauder Lodge for 6 months now. She settled in very quickly and is very happy.
Staff at all levels and roles are fantastic. Everyone is friendly, attentive and helpful - nothing is ever any bother.
The care my Mum receives is excellent and she has nothing but good to say
about her experience there. She tells me she feels like she is living in a 5 star hotel rather than a care home.
On a personal level I feel confident and happy my mum is receiving the level of care she needs. I am contacted immediately if there are any concerns, or to ask my opinion on issues.

This evaluation is based on 1-2 hour daily visits and discussions with staff that are relevant to my husbands care and well being. All grades of staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. Because of my husbands frailty and advanced dementia it is difficult to give a true evaluation to all options. Any
problems that have arisen have been dealt with to my satisfaction.

It is nearly three years since my mother entered the care home and during these years the experience has been consistently very good. Staff at all levels have treated my mother and her family with dignity and kindness. A marked contrast to the care home my father went into.
I am impressed with the
relatively low level of staff turn over over the past three years in an industry where staff retention is challenging. This consistency is to the benefit of residents who build up a relationship.

My dad has been a resident at Lauder Lodge for a couple of months now and has settled in incredibly well, largely due to the consistently kind, thoughtful and very person-centred care provided by all the staff. I've been visiting Lauder Lodge with my therapy dog, Bonnie for the past year or so. We have visited other care homes before but this is by far the best.

When I visit I am able to observe staff interacting with residents and they are always so kind, supportive and professional, whether they are

admin, nursing, care, activity organisers or domestic staff.

Physically the Home is bright, well maintained and very comfortable with a range of activities provided for everyone, geared to their capabilities.

There's always a warm welcome from staff and residents when Bonnie and I visit. If I need to go into a home when the time comes I'd be very happy for it to be Lauder Lodge.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.720)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.720) out of 10 for Lauder Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 35 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.720 for Lauder Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (318 Excellents x 5) + (70 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 407 Ratings = 4.72
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lauder Lodge is based on 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 34 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m a qualified nurse and have worked in a children’s clinic as well as in older people’s care. Joining Lauder Lodge has been very exciting for me: commissioning a new home is a challenge, and the whole team has worked closely together to create a wonderful home from home.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know the team in the process, identifying their strengths and using them to everyone’s advantage. I’m enjoying watching the team grow while providing exceptional service and tailored care for every resident.

I’m infamous for my sweet tooth, so I particularly enjoy afternoon tea time, when I can spend time with the residents, sharing stories and memories over a cup of tea and, of course, freshly baked goodies!

Outside of work, shopping is a guilty pleasure of mine, followed by coffee dates with friends – usually just an excuse to get the biggest cake on display!
