Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My Mum is 93 and decided it was time she needed some additional care. We visited several care homes in our area and she felt she would like to try Lauder Lodge. She moved in for a month's trial in July and has decided she would love to stay.
The care my Mum receives is exceptional! All of the staff
are lovely and take the time to chat with her and let her know her choices and opinions are important.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean and her room is beautiful,. It is also now very homely with some of her own furniture and photos around her.
Nothing is too much bother for the staff. My Mum was unwell a couple of weeks ago and staff detected a change in her straight away and got her the help she needed.
There are many activities on for residents throughout the day, something to suit everyone.
I have nothing but praise for Lauder Lodge and feel happy that my Mum is being well cared for and it's great to see how happy she is too.

Please remember that my review covers my first five weeks at Launder Lodge and also my first five weeks in a care home. My experience is entirely positive. All staff whether carers, nursing, admin or cleaning etc, work wonderfully together with the aim of making life as good as possible for the residents
and patients. They actively seek out opportunities to help and work as a well-drilled yet informed team. I have felt welcome and an integral part of Lauder Lodge since first arriving here. Thanks to all of you who have supported me in the early days.

My dad has been a resident at Lauder Lodge for a couple of months now and has settled in incredibly well, largely due to the consistently kind, thoughtful and very person-centred care provided by all the staff. I've been visiting Lauder Lodge with my therapy dog, Bonnie for the past year or so. We have visited other care homes before but this is by far the best.


When I visit I am able to observe staff interacting with residents and they are always so kind, supportive and professional, whether they are

admin, nursing, care, activity organisers or domestic staff.


Physically the Home is bright, well maintained and very comfortable with a range of activities provided for everyone, geared to their capabilities.


There's always a warm welcome from staff and residents when Bonnie and I visit. If I need to go into a home when the time comes I'd be very happy for it to be Lauder Lodge.

My husband became a resident in Lauder Lodge in Feb 2025 and although it's early days, so far so good. The food is lovely - varied and tasty and the staff are kind, caring and compassionate. I am kept well informed about my husbands care. There's a good and varied activities prog. The cafe is fab. I
looked at many care homes and L.L is streets ahead. I have already recommended L.L to a friend and she is hoping her father will become a resident soon.

Reluctantly we moved my mother into Lauder Lodge care home in January 2025. We had identified Lauder Lodge very quickly as our preferred option and have no regrets. My mother has Alzheimer's and her care has so far been second to none. She smiles, loves the staff and is very much engaged in her new
home. Mum does different activities every day and is encouraged to participate. The staff feel like family and they genuinely care about my mum. When there have been minor issues the staff have immediately dealt with these. Knowing my mum is being cared for so well is a great comfort.

My Aunt has settled well into Lauder Lodge. Her room is bright and looks out onto the secure garden where she likes to watch the birds & see the flowers come to life. All the staff are very helpful, caring, and very friendly both to my Aunt and her visitors. The staff keep in contact if she has had
a fall, had an appointment with the dentist or seen the nurse. There are a variety of activities planned each day which the residents can pick to join in. The music activities always seem to be very popular.
The only comment that my Aunt has is that the menu could be more varied. Recently the dinner menu was either curry or spicy bean burger but no plain option, for anyone who isn't good with spicy food.

I came to Lauder Lodge in the middle of January this year 2025. During the two months, I have found all the staff, including the carers and domestics staff always ready to help and so willing. The standards here are very high. The laundry is washed promptly and well ironed. The rooms are well maintained
and the menu offer a great variety. There is a real atmosphere of friendliness and loveliness. Those who visit me are also struck by the friendliness of the carers they meet at Lauder Lodge.

My mother is well cared for, and I feel that she is very safe in Lauder Lodge. Staff will keep us updated if she falls or is unwell. The staff are very kind and caring towards her, and she likes them very much. It has been difficult for her to move from her own home to the care home, and she is still
not completely settled. The rooms are very small.
Her mobility has deteriorated since moving there, she spends a lot of time sitting in a chair despite the staff encouraging her to move. Hopefully, when the weather gets better, she will be able to enjoy the garden and terrace and feel more at home. I feel that the food in the home, while delicious, could be more balanced with more salads, fruit and greens. She has put on weight, and her diabetes, which was in remission and was managed through diet for 20 years, has now become an issue, and she requires medication. I'm sure the kitchen would accommodate any requests from her, but she doesn't ask. A lower sugar menu and healthier snacks would be good to see

Overall very good, in particular the nursing care. What could be improved is the time my mum sometimes has to wait for assistance after she presses her call button. This can cause frustration, particularly if she needs to go to the bathroom, as she doesn't want to have an accident. This has led to her
trying to go to the bathroom unaided and as a result she's fallen on more than one occasion. This is a safety concern.
Another issue is the food, it's often quite high fat and I'd like to see more healthy options e.g. fruit, veg, salad. My mum's type 2 diabetes has returned since she's been in the home as she's eating far more sugar.

Management and care staff are very pleasant and helpful. From day one, seemingly cordial and cooperative with one another. There are many appreciative comments about catering and quality of food.
My one query was - until today - was it really necessary to communicate everything through our first contact
with a specific manager (who gained our appreciation and trust) rather than go directly to the relevant floor manager. It seemed, perhaps, to add to unnecessary communication stresses for those involved, though I was never given to feel that. Congratulations! Today, I know that as from January 2025, certain tasks will change.
Thank you for the sense of welcome extended each day in Lauder Lodge.

I recently visited Lauder Lodge with my friend to see her lovely Dad. As soon as I stepped into the building, I could feel the warmth and love. We were immediately greeted, my friend by name, at reception. Every member of staff we saw on the way met us with a smile and friendly greeting - many stopping
to ask my friend how she was. The building was cosy and clean and the ethos was enabling and positive. I was very impressed by the cafe, a lovely place to spend time with family. Lauder Lodge, and their wonderful, hard-working staff, are a credit to the company. I have told my family to book my room now!

Any time I have visited I felt very much at home and staff members have been extremely friendly. The rooms are bright and en-suites are roomy. The botanic garden cafe is very popular and a beautiful place to relax with a resident. The standard of food is excellent.
The dining rooms are small and not
too noisy. The activity room looks interesting and the residents seem to enjoy the gatherings there.
As a visitor, I think the cinema is a huge bonus to have on site and the standard of technology is of a very high standard.
Having seen trolleys of laundry being returned to the rooms, it is beautifully folded and ironed.
As far as I can see, all the residents are very content and happy.

My dad has been a resident at Lauder Lodge for 18 months. He is very settled in their care. His physical and emotional care is of a very high standard and staff are always responsive to any concerns or requests that we make. Although social activities cater in the main for the majority female resident
group, there has been an excellent outing for some gentlemen residents to a golf driving range which Dad greatly enjoyed.
Without exception, Dad is treated with courtesy and care by all carers. E.g. whenever he returns to his room from an outing or visits the cafe, he is greeted warmly with a "Welcome back!"
Lauder Lodge is a lovely, well-maintained building. Dad's room has all he needs. Most importantly, he feels safe in their care and we all appreciate that immensely.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m a qualified nurse and have worked in a children’s clinic as well as in older people’s care. Joining Lauder Lodge has been very exciting for me: commissioning a new home is a challenge, and the whole team has worked closely together to create a wonderful home from home. 


I’ve enjoyed getting to know the team in the process, identifying their strengths and using them to everyone’s advantage. I’m enjoying watching the team grow while providing exceptional service and tailored care for every resident. 


I’m infamous for my sweet tooth, so I particularly enjoy afternoon tea time, when I can spend time with the residents, sharing stories and memories over a cup of tea and, of course, freshly baked goodies! 


Outside of work, shopping is a guilty pleasure of mine, followed by coffee dates with friends – usually just an excuse to get the biggest cake on display!
