Lakeview is a lovely home to live in, staff are like family and are so supportive and caring towards service users. We can have a laugh and banter but they're also there when you need to be serious and need the support and encouragement. During my time here I have achieved so much from not being able to walk and suffering really badly with my mental health they have helped and supported me through this. I now walk with one crutch, access the community on my own and have many community engagements, I am part of the local church as a lay minister, a member of the community choir. None of this would be possible without the support of the staff here. They've also supported me in my educational journey in my degree in Biomedical Science of which I'm in my second year. We are now looking at moving on and I never thought this would be possible but with the staff and the amazing support of management Rob and Emma this is now achievable.
My brother has made great progress since coming here. He has put weight on. He doesn't get as aggressive or agitated like he used to. He can now eat solid foods. All the carers seem to genuinely care for him, they have a laugh with him too and it feels like he isn't on his own in here.
My brother has settled very good. He is singing, communicating, happy with staff. He also been in hoist, which the hospital could not do.
Lakeview is a lovely care home, everyone (staff) make you feel welcome when visiting. The rooms are clean and residents are well looked after by the friendly and caring staff, and fed well with good meals.
My husband has settled in extremely well. The care and support I cannot fault. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Altogether a lovely environment.
In the beginning, there was a large turnover of staff so it was very difficult to see any sort of consistency. Also, the staff were very young and inexperienced. Few issues to begin with but at the moment things seem to have improved and there is more staff who seem to be more experienced in looking after people with dementia.
Lakeview care staff are a great set of people who demonstrate care, compassion and empathy not only to one service user but to the family also.
My husband hasn't been at Lakeview very long but from what we have experienced so far we are very happy with his care and environment. Only one issue - there is no outdoor seating area for clients and visiting relatives.
Changeover of staff was up and down when first opened but is now fine. Staff are now very good.
My husband has been in Lakeview since October 2018 after a long struggle to find him somewhere due to his challenging behaviour with his Alzheimer's. As a family we are very happy with the care he is receiving. The staff are really caring and ensure he is always looking clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to recommend Lakeview. A special mention to the team leader who is amazing.
It was such a relief to find a care home environment with the skills and ability to manage my mum's complex needs. My mum has suffered from depression and anxiety on and off for 10 years. She had withdrawn from family and from life. This bout of depression followed a severe leg injury. In addition, she had other medical needs. Unfortunately, my mum was moved from hospital to hospital, dependent on the priority of her needs at the time. In between hospital admissions, she stayed in a different care home but this resulted in a re-admission to hospital, because they could not manage all of her needs. It has been a never-ending nightmare until she was finally placed in Lakeview, Leigh. The staff have been able to manage all of my mum's needs, medical, physical and mental health. This has been such a blessing! The staff are always friendly and supportive. Lakeview has had such a positive impact on my mum that she has now been able to begin to recover and look to the future.
