View Full Details of Wykebeck Court Care HomeMum was in Wykebeck Court Care Home for 18 months before she sadly passed away there very peacefully on 1/8/25. Mum could be challenging at times, but I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They went over and above continuously to help mum feel safe and treated her with absolute dignity and as an individual. I know she would have enjoyed more outside things, which I note are being held now when possible, but overall, she enjoyed her last year and a half, and we couldn't have asked for better care. I'd particularly like to mention one member of staff who was absolutely outstanding in her care of mum.
Viewed Wykebeck for my cousin. A member of staff showed us around and explained the care home perfectly. We saw clients in outdoor spaces enjoying music and the company of other residents.
My father has resided at Wykebeck Court Care Home for the last 15 months. He is now 96 years old and very frail. The level of care by the care staff has been superb, beyond my expectations, kind, compassionate, flexible, thoughtful, and overseen by senior care and nursing staff who provide clear leadership, and are available to listen and respond to suggestions and concerns. We stumbled across Wykebeck when dad was in hospital and needed to move into a care home at short notice. We struck 'Gold'. So grateful to all the staff there.
The staff are outstanding in day to day care and when mum passed.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Sadly, my mum was only there a few months, but the care she received was excellent. They helped her to join in activities, which are varied and great fun. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they also looked after family members who were visiting.
Felt very welcome at first visit. Got lots of help filling in forms. My friend settled much quicker than I feared. All the staff have been kind and reassuring. My friend is eating much better than she was in her own home.
I find the home clean tidy and well-maintained. The staff are EXCELLENT and carry out duties in a very friendly, caring way. The home is a home from home for the residents. My wife is bed bound, but the home has plenty of activities for all residents, music afternoons where a trio visit the rooms and plays music and talks to the residents. The food is varied and presented well. The kitchen staff will provide, within reason, something extra if what's on the menu doesn't suit some residents. All in all, I can not and will not fault "Wyebeck" if it stays like this.
I feel all the staff are very friendly and helpful. I feel the entertainment is good, I always love a good dance and music with my dad and all the other residents. I feel my dad is gently looked after with proper care. Any information or anything concerning my dad, the staff are always letting me or my niece know. My dad is in safe hands. Thank you,
When walking in you can see how welcoming it is here, the staff are very friendly and it has a lovely warm feel.
I visit my friend regularly and she is always happy. The staff are always helpful, and the home is clean and well run. A pleasure to visit.
I cannot praise highly enough the wonderful staff and care at Wykebeck Court. The environment is wonderful, warm & welcoming. All of the staff are amazing and go the extra mile for the residents - including coming in on days off to support activities, events & trips. Both of my parents are residents & I have watched them settle, grow & make friends in what they now refer to as 'home'. Thank you so much.
Mum was in respite care for three weeks and she goes two or 3 times a year. This gives me a break and the peace of mind she is being very well looked after. All the staff are lovely, very kind and caring and Mum always gets a warm welcome. Wykebeck Court is a godsend for myself, Mum and family. Thank you.
My father passed away and mum needed additional support for her day to day to needs. At a very difficult time for Mum, and all of our family, every single member of staff at Wykebeck could not have done more to help Mum settle in on the residential floor, and to support us as a family. Every interaction has been met with kindness, consideration and understanding. Wykebeck Court is bright, clean and welcoming. The activities team are superb. From pamper sessions and exercise classes to visiting entertainers or simply watching a film with a glass of wine, there is always something to do. Or Mum could stay in her bright and airy room reading a book or watching TV if she doesn't want to join in (but she ALWAYS wants to join in!). The food is great and Mum thinks that she's putting on weight! There is lots of space around to sit and chat with a coffee when we visit and we are always welcomed. Mum is happy and as a family we can't thank the team enough for their care and kindness.
It was very hard to come to terms with the fact that our mum would need to move into care but we are confident that we have made the right choice with Wykebeck Court. Mum is very fond of her carers who treat her with respect and dignity. We are happy that she has settled well and we know that if we have any concerns there will always be someone to listen.
My mum is looked after on the nursing floor of the care home. She is treated with kindness, care and dignity. The staff are approachable and willing to listen and discuss any concerns I may have. Although Mum has Alzheimer's her face lights up when the carers come to her room and she always has a smile for everyone which shows she is happy.
My mum originally went in for 2 weeks of respite and never looked back. She has good days and bad days! She's missing my dad (who passed away last September) so much and asks for him daily which is heartbreaking for us all. All the staff who had dealt with Mum have been good, caring and helpful. I have got my back!
The staff are kind and looked after my mum, myself and family till the end. The room was clean and everyone was so nice.
My mum has been staying at Wykebeck Court for 2 months as she was very poorly on admission. With the excellent care and support my mum received at Wykebeck Court she is well enough to return home for the foreseeable future. I would like to thank the manager and all her team for providing so much genuine love and care.
Mum was admitted following a 6-week stay in the hospital for a fractured hip and wrist. Due to dementia, she was nursed in bed. Settled well and put weight on. Always treated with great dignity and care. The whole team at Wykebeck also supported Dad on his visits. I feel sure she had the best care in her final year. From the moment you enter the building, you feel the great pride that is taken to make a homely, warm, and welcoming environment.
Wykebeck Court was very caring and Mum was looked after extremely well, this was with her medical needs and her personal care. The facilities are also very well too. I visited twice weekly and everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
