The staff and management at Brockington provide excellent care and a safe and very homely environment for all the residents. Our family are so pleased we found Brockington and we can relax knowing mum is very well looked after. Out thanks to the whole team!
Brockington House is a lovely place to live - it's clean and staff are welcoming. It is expensive compared to other homes (inc homes in SE England where one would expect to pay a premium.) Care staff are generally lovely - kind, patient and caring. Food in the ward for people with dementia is sometimes not.
Mum is so happy here and considers it her home now. It's like a 5* hotel. Her room is perfect for her needs. Activities are varied 10/10. Rooms immaculate, always clean & tidy. Staff are amazing & always have a friendly word for Mum. As a visitor it is always a pleasure to visit, always made to feel welcome. A lovely atmosphere in the coffee shop. The trips are a great idea & always popular.
This home is very good. My friend is very happy here which is so good to know. She is always kept very clean & tidy as are the rooms. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Good security too.
The care and support my father has received since moving into Brockington Care Home with my mother last JUly have been nothing short of excellent. Sadly my mother passed away within 4 weeks of them moving into Brockington and the staff were wonderful to Dad during this very traumatic period and continue to look after him so well Even the entertainment staff take so much time and trouble to support the residents and tailor sessions to appeal to different residents
Impressed by all staff their courtesy & politeness very nice and welcoming also dignity of dementia patients extremely pleasant
Many thanks for your continued care of my mother She is very happy and content at Brockington, with wonderful care in the most amazing environment Thanks for all involve and keep up the good work.
Very good clean friendly very helpfull.
My 82-year-old husband with Parkinson's dementia went into Brockington house care home for five weeks' respite. At first he seemed fine, but within days he was moved to a locked unit because of "wandering" - something the home already knew about. When I returned early from holiday I found him heavily sedated, unshaven with food stuck in his beard, and looking neglected. Managers told me they could not manage him and he would have to leave. Later I discovered he had not even been given a prescribed calming medication, which may explain the problems they complained of. After moving to a specialist dementia home he immediately joined in activities, was calm, and showed none of the behaviours reported by Brockington house. This experience left me very disappointed in the standard of care he received.
The staff are exceptional in their professional approach. The house keeping staff are outstanding in their diligence and standard of cleanliness. The food is disappointing and varies in quality. Eg very nice roast pork lunch. Friday fish & chips poor quality fish. Menu lacks imagination, choice & variety
I am glad to have the opportunity to praise the care that Brockington offered my dad. A special mention must be made to all the staff who provided such diligent care and attention. This was particularly so during his final days with them. The humanity and love they showed was beyond compare. Also the great care they offered me during this incredibly sad time. I have no hesitation in recommending Brockington House.
This is a modern purpose built care home. It is extremely well run with caring staff who all come across as individuals who really care, are always ready to help and appear happy and fulfilled in their work. A wide range of activities are available seven days a week. My mother was isolated and lonely as well as prone to worry before moving here. Since then she has turned a corner and is perfectly content.
My mum has settled in well due to the staff, pleasant, kind and respectful manner at all times. The whole building is spotless. The rooms are welcoming and home from home. Lots of things to do on a day-to-day basis which is good for the mental state of my mum. Any questions are always answered at any time. Very much like a calm space and very sociable people who seem to enjoy each other's company.
We could not be happier with Brockington House. Just knowing my mother is receiving the best and kindest care we could hope for gives us peace of mind. She is comfortable and content. The manager and staff are warm and attentive to her and communicative and understanding with us. None of this comes cheaply, of course, but we are prepared to pay the high fees to ensure her utmost well-being.
Mum has been here for over four years now and it's a lovely place for its residents. I've recently visited a number of homes in the area and Brockington House is, most definitely, one of the best and vastly better than most. The building is a safe, clean and good-looking place but of course. it's the staff that make the difference. Cleaners, maintenance, admin, activities, physio, hairdresser, management, nurses and carers - they're absolutely marvellous. Caring, knowledgeable: keeping residents safe and happy.
My mother has been a resident at Brockington House for over three years. After a couple of months, she was moved to the dementia unit where she settled very quickly. The care she receives is excellent, she is treated with kindness and dignity at all times and I am always kept informed of anything that relates to her. The manager has always been extremely professional and helpful with anything that I have requested, as has every single member of staff who will do everything they can to ensure the residents are well cared for, happy and safe.
Mum and Dad moved into Brockington House September 2020 during lockdown. Their need for care was urgent and we feel fortunate that a room was available at very short notice. Dad, sadly, died four months later. Mum stayed on and is now 100 years old. Over the last four years, all the staff have been wonderful. She is very well cared for in this beautiful home and when we visit, our family are made to feel welcome as part of the Brockington community! A lovely party was arranged for her big birthday and Mum was thoroughly spoilt. We highly recommend Brockington House and their kind, dedicated, caring staff. Thank you.
As soon as we entered Brockington House, we knew that it was the right place for my mother... It's like walking into a five-star hotel! My mother has now been in here for twelve months and during that time, she has been looked after so well - nothing is too much for all the carers. There are so many comfortable sitting areas for all the residents if they need some peace and quiet and so many wonderful organised games that they can join in if desired. All in all, a wonderful retirement home/hotel.
