The purpose of my stay at Brockington House, for nearly 7 weeks was to recuperate from surgery to my knees. During this time my main aim to achieve the best recovery, was combining rest and regular exercises. It always felt to me that all members of staff, of any role, ensured I was cared for aplenty.
Even during some dark recovery days, staff gave me encouragement, dignity, respect, empathy with kindness and always tasty meals, a cosy bedroom and plenty of entertainment every day - if I desired. It is a happy place. I feel grateful to have chosen Brockington to help me heal.
Reply from Alexandra Onisor, RGN and Deputy Manager at Brockington HouseThank you so much for sharing your wonderful feedback. It means a great deal to us to know you felt respected, comfortable, and well supported by everyone.

When my friend was diagnosed with early dementia and Alzheimer's, she made the decision herself to move to Brockington. She liked the "Hotel with Care" and the wine with her meals! Not to mention the silver service! During her 3 years at Brockington House, her changing needs have been more than met,
and it has been a great comfort to me knowing that she has been happy and so well cared for. Without exception, the staff are brilliant, such a remarkable team with such a skilful leader.

My mother was a residents for 5 years. She was happy and well looked after, during some challenging times in her life. She was always treated with dignity and care, and made many friends among the staff. I had no doubt that she was in the best place to see out her final years.

My mum has been with you for a year now. She is very settled and seems to like all of the staff and other residents. When I visit it feels very much a community and very welcoming to all that visits. There is always something going on and a lovely atmosphere. The staff have great respect in what I have
seen to all.

As a family we have been very pleased with the care my mother has received during her respite period. My initial enquiry was handled quickly and efficiently when many other care homes failed to respond. Mum settled in quickly and the home is clean, 'hotel like' with excellent staff and activities.

My mother came to Brockington for respite care in September 2025 following a hip replacement. Her dementia has developed and we're hoping we can make her a permanent resident.
Brockington go above and beyond. It's not like any other care home. They have been incredibly supportive and understanding
of my mothers care needs. It's given me great peace of mind knowing she is so well cared for.

When the menu wasn't to my mum's liking, something else of her choice was always provided.

Brockington House is a lovely place to live - it's clean and staff are welcoming. It is expensive compared to other homes (inc homes in SE England where one would expect to pay a premium.)
Care staff are generally lovely - kind, patient and caring. Food in the ward for people with dementia is sometimes
not.

The care and support my father has received since moving into Brockington Care Home with my mother last JUly have been nothing short of excellent. Sadly my mother passed away within 4 weeks of them moving into Brockington and the staff were wonderful to Dad during this very traumatic period and continue
to look after him so well
Even the entertainment staff take so much time and trouble to support the residents and tailor sessions to appeal to different residents

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.667)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.667) out of 10 for Brockington House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Brockington House is calculated as follows: ( (328 Excellents x 5) + (67 Goods x 4) + (21 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 426 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brockington House is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
