Opened in August 2019, the homes offer a range of outstanding facilities, from a coffee shop, bar, gym, therapy room, cinema, beauty salon, and various lounges and dining rooms.

All accommodation is furnished to a high standard with ensuite wet rooms and many rooms have patio doors on to beautifully landscaped gardens that are easily accessible and safe. There are also companion suites for couples to stay together.

Brockington House has given my husband exemplary care for his Dementia and Parkinson's. The experienced staff are caring and compassionate and I have been kept informed of their efforts to keep him mobile for as long as possible.

Not good. Not good at all. It was made very clear she is not to have gluten and I spent over 30 minutes going through dietary needs - she likes fruit, don't give any bread or biscuits blah blah. What is the point of doing this if she is going to be fed something she cannot eat! How can something as
basic as this happen when you see paying £1500 a week? Food is a basic requirement, what the hell happens with medication?!
It's an allergen and they have fed it to her. Inept incompetence. Beggars belief.
Also on handover (which included a 7-page document 'Nanny Operational Manual'), I made it clear that she is to have her hearing aids put in to talk to her. You do not need to shout at her, have they been doing this? No.
To cap it off we went through a long process of trip hazards and pressure mats. Brockington House managed to install a pressure mat under her mattress because if one was on the floor she curled it up with her aluminium frame. Does it work? No.

Mum's experience was that she was able to relax and was treated with kindness by friendly staff who maintained professionalism. Despite having a small appetite she enjoyed the food.

My dad has been here for just over one year. The decor is lovely and care is good. However the picture is bigger than that. Very few activities for men, food is not always up to standard, he and other residents often complain but nothing improves. They can be accused of doing too much which for some
is excellent but it has taken away my dad's independence. His mobility is not good but his brain functions well. Their Covid restrictions are still quite strict which has the effect of making it feel unwelcoming.

My wife is currently staying at Brockington House for some respite care. I am thoroughly impressed by the high standard of service she is receiving and indeed myself. She is always telling me how kind, friendly and helpful all the staff are to her which is a great relief to me and so lovely to hear.
She tells me the food is very good and she is thoroughly enjoying the company of all the other residents too. She is kept occupied all day with all sorts of interesting activities and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Brockington House to anybody needing care as it is like a 5 star hotel with outstanding service! Thank you Brockington House for all you are doing for my wife and me.

My mother is currently residing at Brockington House receiving respite care and I cannot begin to say how thrilled we are with this home. The staff are all unbelievably kind, caring, friendly and engaging and nothing is ever a problem. My mother thoroughly enjoys all the daily activities that are put
on for all the residents and being a keen gardener herself they have ensured that she is kept busy with lots of gardening activities too! The home itself is like a 5-star hotel with outstanding facilities and is exceptionally clean and tidy at all times. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Brockington House to anybody needing either respite care or a more permanent care package. Thank you Brockington House for everything you have and are doing for Mummy to make her stay enjoyable, it is hugely appreciated!

I came for respite care as my wife also came as she needed care due to her dementia, and I wanted to be present in case she needed me in settling down. I have been so pleased and grateful for the care she received. Similarly, my own needs have been seen too at all times.

The overall care that my mother has received has been outstanding. During these difficult times, the staff have kept me fully informed updated with regards to my mum's health and wellbeing and this has been a great comfort due to the visiting restrictions imposed by Covid. I speak with my mother every
day by phone and sometimes we speak more than once a day and any issues that have come to light have been dealt with swiftly and in a friendly professional manner.
All the staff have been wonderful with mum ensuring her best interests and good quality of life. Thank you all.

My 93-year-old friend has dementia and has been at Brockington for 15 months now and she seems happy enough and from what I can see is well cared for.
There is always a friendly welcome and now we can get back to visiting on a one-to-one basis all will be so much better.
Throughout the lockdown,
I have been able to contact my friend but this was of course not easy but the staff did their best with the situation.
Brockington is handy for me and most of the staff know me by name and I am very happy that my friend is there.

Shann Thomas

Job Title: Home Director Joined: 2018

Shann originally qualified as both RMN and RGN and went on to join the Private Sector in 1992.


She then moved to live in Africa for 17 years and ran a successful business before returning to the UK in 2014 where she joined a leading care home provider as a Home Manager. Shann was delighted to receive a Divisional award for Outstanding Care and Quality during her time managing a successful nursing and dementia home in Shropshire.
