I came for respite care as my wife also came as she needed care due to her dementia, and I wanted to be present in case she needed me in settling down. I have been so pleased and grateful for the care she received. Similarly, my own needs have been seen too at all times.

The overall care that my mother has received has been outstanding. During these difficult times, the staff have kept me fully informed updated with regards to my mum's health and wellbeing and this has been a great comfort due to the visiting restrictions imposed by Covid. I speak with my mother every
day by phone and sometimes we speak more than once a day and any issues that have come to light have been dealt with swiftly and in a friendly professional manner.
All the staff have been wonderful with mum ensuring her best interests and good quality of life. Thank you all.

My 93-year-old friend has dementia and has been at Brockington for 15 months now and she seems happy enough and from what I can see is well cared for.
There is always a friendly welcome and now we can get back to visiting on a one-to-one basis all will be so much better.
Throughout the lockdown,
I have been able to contact my friend but this was of course not easy but the staff did their best with the situation.
Brockington is handy for me and most of the staff know me by name and I am very happy that my friend is there.

Our mother moved into Brockington having suffered a series of falls and three breaks and fractures. Having had a period of isolation, Mum has settled into the environment and is being cared for in a caring and professional way. She seems to have struck up a rapport with the various carers and staff.
When Covid restrictions are eased we will have the perfect place for Mum to flourish and relax. We as a family would again like to thank all concerned in helping her back to reasonable health.

My mum spent the last seven months of her very long life in Brokington House and she was so incredibly happy there. The care was second to none. She was treated with such kindness and respect. Mum talked fondly and warmly about her carers and the leadership of the home. The whole team was involved in
making her stay so wonderful. I am able grateful for their kindness to me as well as Mum. Thank you.

The care my Nan received at Brockington was exceptional. She felt very happy and safe. We were particularly impressed with how kind and attentive all of the staff were, they kept us up informed with all of Nans care and they were extremely helpful. During Nans final days the home made it possible for
us to visit nan safely to spend some time and say goodbye. Every time I spoke to my Nan on the phone she was always in good spirits and commented on how kind everyone was. Thank you what an excellent standard of care you provide.

Mum became a resident on her 82nd birthday in March 2020, a day after Covid-19 lockdown. Unable to be with Mum on this day was heartbreaking, however, the staff greeted her with a Birthday cake and a card which was such a warm and loving welcome for Mum. I cannot thank all of the wonderful staff at
Brockington House enough for all they did to keep Mum interacting, safe and comfortable, with loving care. Due to lockdown restrictions, we were unable to visit Mum during this extremely difficult time, and I have to especially thank the activity co-ordinators for being our lifeline to Mum via regular video calls and for which I will remain eternally grateful. Sadly Mum's stay was a short one, as she passed away with peace and dignity due to Dementia on the 7th of July. Choosing Brockington House was without any doubt the right choice.

My mother was one of the first residents to move into Brockington House when it opened in Aug '19. Since then her confidence and wellbeing has improved no end. Her twin sister also moved in during November '19. They have recently celebrated their 91st birthday with a scrumptious homemade cake and a
socially distanced singalong. A week ago the activities team organised a 'World Cruise' which was very well received. What a great team effort during these troubled times. Thank you for keeping our loved ones safe and well, all the staff deserve a gold medal for their care, dedication, compassion and professionalism.

Our brother was a resident for several months and passed away with you on 7th May this year. We visited regularly and were impressed with the way the staff treated him, always with dignity, kindness and with a sense of humour. His meals looked very appetising and he appeared to enjoy them. Thank you for all you did to make my aunt's last few weeks comfortable. Brockington House is a most wonderful care home. The surroundings, rooms, all facilities are second to none and I would highly recommend to anyone requiring a comfortable care home. The staff are wonderful and caring, nothing seemed

Shann Thomas

Job Title: Home Director Joined: 2018

Shann originally qualified as both RMN and RGN and went on to join the Private Sector in 1992.


She then moved to live in Africa for 17 years and ran a successful business before returning to the UK in 2014 where she joined a leading care home provider as a Home Manager. Shann was delighted to receive a Divisional award for Outstanding Care and Quality during her time managing a successful nursing and dementia home in Shropshire.
