My mother was at Brockington House from February 9th 2022, till her death on January 6th 2023. The care she received was wonderful. The carers are all amazing. If all care homes were like this, no family would have to worry about their loved one.

The home is modern and well-built, good decor and spacious. The management and carers are excellent, friendly and courteous. They receive ongoing training. The gardens are well-maintained and secure. There are social areas, lounges, dining rooms and a social area at the entrance which is returning to
normality following Covid restrictions.
It is a pleasure to visit my two friends who are residents here.

My mother became a resident at Brockington House during the spring of 2022. She was suffering from a number of health issues which restricted her mobility, but she was mentally very good. She took time to settle but with the exceptional care and attention given by all the staff, she appreciated their
help and support. As soon as you enter the building you are greeted by a smiling face. Morale is clearly high in this care home and all members of staff are eager to make each resident's day as enjoyable as possible.

I am so glad I chose to go to Brockington House for respite after a total hip replacement at the hospital. The care, at all levels, was excellent. The ambience and decor, made for a very uplifting experience and the menu too, helped me to regain my appetite. It was a great experience to convalesce in

My mum was a resident for only ten weeks as her round-the-clock care needs became apparent. The building is absolutely fabulous. Large, light and airy bedrooms and community areas. The staff are compassionate, supportive and caring. The food was excellent. Mum loved the hairdresser but was not well
enough to partake in many of the other activities evident. Highly recommended!

My mother is well cared for and has settled in well. There are always staff on hand to assist her. She was having regular falls at home and these have stopped. She is always pleased to see her carers, her face lights up when they speak to her. It is very reassuring to know how well she is being looked
after.

My 86-year-old mother was admitted for rehabilitation after falling and fracturing her hip.
She has been treated with respect and kindness. She was still in a lot of pain when she arrived and the staff had her analgesia altered quickly to help her mobilise. We have taken her out in the gardens several
times, which she loves. It appears all the staff, from cleaning, catering and nursing, nothing is too much trouble.

No other words than perfect. Most caring, nothing too much trouble for all the staff. The food choices are excellent. This is my second respite visit. I would definitely stay again in the future.

My mother has just returned from a month's respite care at Brockington House. In her own words she "could not fault anything at all" about the care she received. Whilst there she was treated with warmth and dignity. She has a chronic illness and the staff dealt with her medications and when she became
poorly rehabilitated her with outstanding care and compassion. It was lovely to know there were nursing staff on site 24/7. Brockington House is now mum's second home and she will hopefully return there many times more in her life.

Dad had a two-week trial stay. He has now booked in on a permanent basis, so what better recommendation. He enjoyed the social aspect. I felt very secure in knowing he was being well cared for.

Not good. Not good at all. It was made very clear she is not to have gluten and I spent over 30 minutes going through dietary needs - she likes fruit, don't give any bread or biscuits blah blah. What is the point of doing this if she is going to be fed something she cannot eat! How can something as
basic as this happen when you see paying £1500 a week? Food is a basic requirement, what the hell happens with medication?!
It's an allergen and they have fed it to her. Inept incompetence. Beggars belief.
Also on handover (which included a 7-page document 'Nanny Operational Manual'), I made it clear that she is to have her hearing aids put in to talk to her. You do not need to shout at her, have they been doing this? No.
To cap it off we went through a long process of trip hazards and pressure mats. Brockington House managed to install a pressure mat under her mattress because if one was on the floor she curled it up with her aluminium frame. Does it work? No.

It is very disappointing that you made these comments - especially in light of the fact that your grandmother had only been in the home for a few short hours when you did so. During that time, she had enjoyed a gluten free meal and appeared to be very happy - chatting with staff and settling into her new environment. Staff had supported her to settle for the night, including having removed her hearing aids, when you visited the home at approximately 10 pm in an extremely agitated manner and behaved in an aggressive manner towards staff and another person living in the home. Staff had not shouted at her. The sensor mat on her bed was in good working order. Your comments are not a true reflection of the care afforded to your grandmother during her short stay with us in Brockington House

My dad has been here for just over one year. The decor is lovely and care is good. However the picture is bigger than that. Very few activities for men, food is not always up to standard, he and other residents often complain but nothing improves. They can be accused of doing too much which for some
is excellent but it has taken away my dad's independence. His mobility is not good but his brain functions well. Their Covid restrictions are still quite strict which has the effect of making it feel unwelcoming.

We provide him with foods that he has specifically requested and he joins in with activities that are on offer in the home including the Gentlemens Club which was established specifically with our gentlemen in mind. Shann Thomas

Job Title: Home Director Joined: 2018

Shann originally qualified as both RMN and RGN and went on to join the Private Sector in 1992.


She then moved to live in Africa for 17 years and ran a successful business before returning to the UK in 2014 where she joined a leading care home provider as a Home Manager. Shann was delighted to receive a Divisional award for Outstanding Care and Quality during her time managing a successful nursing and dementia home in Shropshire.
