My mother became a full time resident in March 2025. Since then the staff have been extremely attentive and caring for her. They have also communicated regularly with me providing regular updates on her wellbeing - which is very helpful given I live some distance away.
Overall Queens Manor - and
the team there - have given me tremendous peace of mind when it comes to my mother's wellness.

My mum moved to Queens Manor in May 24 after having a number of falls and realising she couldn't live by herself any longer.
From the moment she moved in she was made to feel safe and cared for.
She had a lovely bright room with a patio and was close to the dining room and cafe area.
She
entered into lots of the activities on offer and went on outings with the other residents - she especially loved her keep fit session every week.
Her health deteriorated towards the end of 2025 - the staff continued to make sure she was very well looked after in her home surroundings.
She had a massive stroke which sadly proved to be terminal - she was able to stay in her own bed until the end and be cared for by staff she knew, with support from the on call GP and Marie Curie Nurses, who provided end of life care with compassion and dignity, rather than being taken to hospital.
I would highly recommend this care home

My mum moved into Queens Manor a year ago. The genuine care and professionalism of every single one the staff has been amazing. Mum has made genuine friendships, she's encouraged to participate in all sorts of activities but her privacy and wishes are respected at all times. Can't recommend highly
enough.

Our mother moved into Queens Manor last month - although its still early days, we have been very pleasantly surprised by the way she has settled. This is due to many factors - warm and friendly staff, a lovely bedroom with a view onto the garden, many different activities available, which she can
choose to join or not (depending on her mood). The care team do their best to accommodate her needs, even when she doesn't tell them what they are! She feels safe and content, which is a big relief for us.

My mum moved to Queens Manor nearly 3 years ago and it has been a successful move from her perspective and that of the family.
Her room benefits from the modern full length windows and she has access from her room on to the patio and into the well situated and secure garden.
She is able to join
in with the extensive social activities as she wishes.
We have gotten to know the staff who support mum and have full confidence in the care provided.
Margaret, the manager, is visible, approachable and has a "can do" attitude.

Our mum was one of Queens Manor's very first residents and she has always trusted and appreciated the care, humour and kindness of the staff who are very dedicated and knowledgeable. My sister and I have always been made to feel very welcome when visiting and the atmosphere is always cheerful and
full of purpose. In particular there is a feeling of mum's care being very genuine and professional, with everything being attended to promptly and us kept in the loop at all times.

I am a retired OT with over 30yrs experience & have high expectations of care needs for our clients. My mother has been awaiting a POC for 4 months then had a fall requiring hospital admission then the assessment identified she required 24hr care. I have found this very difficult especially as mum
has been unhappy with me & wants to be independent. I know that a POC & I cannot meet my mum's needs but the care home team can & provide a level of support, care & socialisation that is enabling mum to regain her confidence, sense of self & flourish. The team have been amazing with mum & her face lights up when she sees any of them, they have been so supportive of me & listened when I'm struggling.

I was extremely well looked after, with great respect and dignity, this was more like a five star hotel for which I am eternally greatful. All the staff were super.

My friend is in this care home and it is amazing. It fills all her needs, personal care, medication, helping her get dressed, she gets her nails done, her hair done, podiatrist, the food is like a 5 star hotel, there are activities every day, trips out to lovely gardens, coffee shops and place of
interest. The staff are excellent, very keen to help with anything that is required. I would highly recommend Barchester Queens Manor Care Home.

Staff are outstandingly kind and helpful - not just with my mother but all the family too. They were particularly helpful during a difficult transition period for my mother. During a recent visit from an overseas relative and new great grandson they put together a delicious tea so my mother could
entertain the family in one of their private living rooms - my mother very happy to be able to host the family in this way. Would highly recommend.

Queens manor is a beautiful home with 5 star facilities. The food is good with amazing attention to detail from the chef and his team to the provision of mum's special diet. The care, compassion and friendliness of the staff made mum's respite stay a positive experience

The Queens Manor showed an exceptional level of empathy and dedication during my aunts stay. Everyone was kind, responsive and gentle. My aunts dignity was at the forefront. I wholeheartedly recommend this care home and would not have wanted to be anywhere else at this difficult time. Thank you for
everything!

Our family are delighted with all of the help that Barchester Queens Manor Care Home has given our mum. She has thrived dramatically since arriving in June. This has been due to the personal care and attention given to her by all of the staff. We are so pleased that she has got her sparkle back.
The admin assistant, in particular, was a breath of fresh air when we needed help most and she has continued to be a positive influence for Mum and all of her visitors.

My mum is a resident of Barchester Queens Manor in Edinburgh. She tried respite at other care homes and really, really didn't like them. Queens Manor is a qualitative step up from those other homes.
The home is not too big, and there doesn't appear to be a high turnover of staff, so residents have
the time to form meaningful relationships with individual members of staff.
Time and care are given to residents' individual needs and wants. My mum has been encouraged to bring things from her family home to make her new room her own. When my mum had a tumble, appropriate care and due thought were given before contacting emergency services. Despite the mess she left behind, her room was spotless when she got back there the next day.
Mum's been there for almost 6 months, and there's been no real issues at all during that time.

My gran has been living at Barchester Queens Manor Care Home for two years now and it is nothing short of excellent. The attention to detail, commitment of staff and care given is second to none. We attended their event on Saturday and it was amazing. The event brought great memories back for my
gran and allowed us time to spend at an event as a family. Who knows if this would have ever happened without Queens Manor. Thank you.

I attended the Queens Manor Fringe festival with my family, what a great day for everyone! My gran loved everything that was going on from the street act, canapes, cocktail bar and Jazz band. It was all lovely and well organised. Staff always go above and beyond at Queens Manor and they are all
amazing. If anyone is looking for a fun, caring and beautiful place to live, look no further than Queens Manor.
21 August 2024
My mum enjoyed the recent Fringe event where a wonderful jazz singer performed songs from the past. The host was witty and welcoming and the singer was accompanied by 2 excellent musicians. The home had gone out of its way to organise an entertaining afternoon with drinks and homemade snacks.
My
mum is a fairly recent resident and, as a dementia patient, lives on the first floor. Initially, she took part in some activities and was included in 2 outings which she enjoyed very much. Unfortunately, she doesn't always realise what is on offer and relies on family or members of staff to encourage her to participate.
Otherwise, we have been very happy with the care my mum is receiving and appreciate the hard-working staff and the care they give to the residents.
