View Full Details of Westhill ParkWe attended the Country and Western Fate on Saturday afternoon. My husband and granddaughter and myself arrived at 1-30 intending to stay an hour. Well, what a fabulous 3 hours we enjoyed. My granddaughter loved the pony and donkey, I was happy to see my mother ( a resident) having fun in the sunshine listening to the Band playing music she remembers. Making memories, which is important. So a G & T for me and a small Bailey for her watching her friends from the Home having a dance and singing. The Manager has a fantastic team to help her, many coming in on their day off to help the residents enjoy everything. Fab BBQ and the kitchen crew. 100° given from the staff and 100% appreciated from me and my family. Fabulous Care Home. Best decision I ever made for my mother.
Our dad has lived at Westhill for nearly 5 years; our mum was also a resident until she passed away 3 years ago. The care throughout has been exceptional and since they moved in, we've always had regular updates about our parents' health and care. Staff treat residents with genuine compassion, respect, and warmth. When they moved in (during lockdown) they helped get Dad a Parkinson's diagnosis and on the right medication, and they supported Mum through dementia with skill and sensitivity, which made a difficult time more manageable. Now Dad is in end-of-life care, and they continue to do everything they can to keep him safe and comfortable. The management are proactive, kind, and always make sure he gets what he truly needs - not just what the guidelines say. Every member of staff shows the same outstanding commitment - knowing each resident by name, respecting their independence, and providing thoughtful, personal care that protects their dignity and safety.
The staff at Westhill Park care for my mum's specific needs very well and some go out of their way to ensure she has the correct diet and treatment. Where, on the rare occasion, I have had concerns, staff and senior staff have followed these up quickly and effectively, communicating well with me. It seems there is an excellent core team of full time carers. There are some ongoing issues I would like to see changed for the better. The ANPR parking enforcement is far too rigid. There have been a number of incidents where visitors for my mum have been wrongly fined and they could see no other option than to pay. One of these visitors has a very frail wife and had his hands full caring for her during the visit so inputting his registration onto the system was not done correctly. Due to this fine, he no longer visits mum, his sister, due to the stress and inconvenience caused by the parking enforcement. Entry for visitors can be a problem if no staff are near the front door, causing a wait
Mum was took into care on a trial basis as possibly suffering with dementia . Overall mum has been ok in my opinion . The care given by Our mum cannot be faulted . Myself my brother and Sister are constantly updated as and when needed regarding meds etc . It's a lovely bonus to have photos on social media aswell as personal copies of mums days out etc . Overall definately the best home for our mum . 2 plus years to date and long may she continue . Regards
I love visiting my mother and find that I have become part of the family at Westhill Park. Whether I am just with her or joining in with activities it is home from home. My mother feels comfortable with all of the staff, who know how to relate to the different residents. The residents also look out for each other which is lovely to see. Keep up the good work.
I continue to be impressed with the levels of care provided at Westhill Park. My elderly mother has advanced dementia and therefore requires much assistance with her routine. This care is provided with professionalism, warmth and generosity of spirit. From my perspective, I am able to feel totally confident that my mother is cared for at all times of the day. Furthermore, should there be a need for any communication between Westhill Park and me, then I am always kept fully informed and in a timely manner. I also value the online relatives' gateway facility which provides detailed and up-to-date notes about my mother and this means that I can seek information remotely and at all times.
The home put on a Breakfast With Bluey experience in the cinema room for resident's families. I attended with my grandchildren and my daughter and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was plentiful and delicious and catered for all tastes. Also the character costumes were great and they really entertained all the children. The home always makes us and the children feel welcome anytime of the day.
My mum has been a resident at the home for a few months now and I couldn't be happier with the level of care she receives and the weekly haircut/blow dry is a bonus!. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that she lives here and she and I both adore all of the staff who are always so happy and helpful. Finally, I love keeping up with what she's up to on the Facebook page which is updated everyday.
One of my closest friends has recently been admitted to the home. I have joined the care home's social media page. I have been amazed and delighted to see the varied and interesting activities provided for the residents. I have visited people in other homes and never have I seen so many topics covered. This leads to the residents looking happy and stimulated. It is a joy to visit her. Well done to the staff who all seem to clearly love their jobs.
Great staff and a lovely atmosphere. From day one Mum felt at home, she loves the daily activities and routine. Friends and family are able to keep in touch with everything happening in the home through social media, it's lovely to see daily images of our loved ones.
Mum has been in Westhill Park care home for over 3 years. She has received excellent care from day 1 tending to all my mums needs. Communication has been excellent and they have always kept me informed of how she is. The care team are all fantastic and I've witnessed first-hand what an amazing job they do. I wouldn't want my mum to go anywhere else.
I enrolled my aunt at Westhill Park in 2020, she receives the most excellent care. She loves the room she is in and calls it her home, the staff are most caring and I get reports regularly on how my aunt's health is or, if there are any concerns. The facilities are second to none she has her hair and nails done fortnightly, which she loves because she is most particular about her appearance, daily laundry, and her meals served either in the dining room or her own room. When she is in her room for any length of time the careers pop in to see if she needs anything or even a cup of tea. She loves the activities, she has taken up knitting again, they even bought her a carpet golf set to play to remind her of the days she was a golfer. Regarding care, you could not wish for better careers they all go that extra mile and nothing is too much trouble for them. The management staff under the manager provide excellent service keeping the home running as 'a tight ship'.
I just wanted to let you know how highly my family rates Westhill Park Care Home. My parents both moved in about 3 years ago, my mother has since died, and my father is now coming to the end of his life. I live south of Cambridge and about 5 months ago we moved Dad from Kettering to a care home very close to me so it would be much easier for me to see him. He's since moved back to Westhill Park - there was nothing wrong with the care home near here, but it was a world away from Westhill. As Dad says, he feels like he's part of a family at Westhill, rather than just a patient, and the love he has received at Westhill from the carers and other staff has been amazing. Dad was so pleased to move back into Westhill - on the day he moved back in, he joked about being covered in bruises because he'd had so many hugs from the staff welcoming him back! Both he and the family are extremely grateful for the care he is receiving, and for the warmth he receives from everyone. Many thanks.
As a family, we have been so grateful for the care Mum has received at Westhill. It has been such a relief for us to know her medical needs are cared for as well as general wellbeing and everyday needs. The daily activities are so important to keep residents stimulated and at Westhill, it can range from crafts, live music to animal visits. The staff are amazing and become like friends to the residents. Mum unfortunately finds it hard now to socialise with the other residents but the staff always give her the option to join in activities and it's so good when we see that they have persuaded her to get out of her room and enjoy music, and the odd crafts for example. As a family, we are so happy to have found Westhill Care Home.
My aunt has settled in beautifully at Westhill. She is happy and relaxed. Enjoying the food, the busy schedule of fun things to do. The staff are very friendly both to residents and families and make us feel very welcome. I would recommend to anybody who is looking for a modern, clean friendly busy place to introduce their family member to, this is the place. Well done Westhill, and thank you.
A great home with fantastic, professional and caring staff. Mum is very happy and feels safe knowing that there is always someone close by to help. Although she suffers with some memory issues the staff will always pop in a remind her what's going on each day as she loves all the activities and enjoys joining in. She says that 'while getting old isn't ideal, obviously I'm still living my best life!' The manager and senior staff are knowledgeable, friendly, committed and helpful, and the carers are really dedicated to the resident's comfort and wellbeing. As a family, we're always welcomed and feel part of the team. Would recommend it without hesitation.
Westhill Park has been the ideal choice for my loved ones. The care and respect that was given to my mum was excellent. The staff are angels, so helpful, friendly and caring, they have supported me through some very difficult times over the last 3 years and for that, I will be forever grateful. My auntie, neighbour and father-in-law have all been residents and my mother-in-law has now settled in extremely well, far better than we ever expected. Thank you to all the staff.
My aunt has been a resident at Westhill Park since January 2019. She has multiple medical needs and these have changed and deteriorated over the years. Westhill have always managed to accommodate these changing needs and seems to take it in their stride as they go. Staff are friendly and approachable and my Aunt is always clean and her room spotless. There seem to be lots of activities which residents can choose to attend or not. I worry sometimes that my aunt can be 'forgotten' as she is mostly in her room with only TV as company but on visits she seems happy in herself. The home itself is kept in good order, very clean and has a nice small wrap-around garden.
My brother-in-law's residence at Westhill Park is highlighted by the exceptional care and attention he receives. Excellent food is available and a wide range of activities are to be found to occupy him. Comfortable accommodation with social facilities ensures a home-from-home feeling and he has adjusted remarkably well. I cannot praise the management and staff more highly for what they do often seeming to go above and beyond their professionalism. I am so grateful to all knowing his welfare is secure. Thank you.
Mum has been living at Westhill Park since 2020. We are so pleased she enjoys living there. The staff are friendly, kind and genuinely seem to love our mum. What more can we ask for? She is cared for extremely well. Thank you to all the hugely hardworking staff.
