View Full Details of Cramond ResidenceThe pre-admission support was excellent. An urgent admission was required as my relative was in hospital and unable to go home. Admission was excellent. Staff were very supportive of my relative and me. Cramond undertook all organising and naming of clothing with great care and attention to detail. Any concerns were addressed immediately and feedback was provided in detail by email. Communication is very good, by phone, email or by the App and a second App. The daily progress reports are what I find most helpful. The staff take a great pride in what they do and are always professional and very pleasant. I feel I can trust them to take good care of my relative. They provide ongoing support to my relative and me. Visitors are welcomed and reassured. The activities are fun, enjoyable, stimulating and well planned. The overall atmosphere is very good.
Dad has been in Cramond for around 12 weeks now, having made the huge decision that he could no longer live independently. What's more he moved a few hundred miles in the process, so the importance of how he was welcomed into the Residence can't be over-estimated. All of the staff, without exception, have been incredible, initially helping with the transition and then ensuring that all of his needs are met and that he is entertained everyday. With a bit of encouragement he has joined more classes and activities than he had done in years! He loves the fresh air, so makes the most of the wonderful garden and its walkway and he makes regular use of the Club Room for big TV events - he likes his sport. Cramond certainly has all the facilities, but above all it's his interaction with the excellent staff, who are so attentive and caring, that sets it apart.
My Mother came to Cramond at the end of May. I was worried with her dementia that she would be confused and want to go home, even though she doesn't really understand any more what 'home' means. However she seems to have settled in extremely well. The staff have been amazing and the facilities are second to none. All the worry of Mum's care has been taken from our shoulders and the feeling that she is being well cared for has been a huge sense of relief for us.
My Dad has MND and was in the Cramond Residence for a 6 week respite stay. He was looked after brilliantly and the staff were all extremely kind, professional and attentive. Would highly recommend.
My 96 year old mother moved to Cramond Residence in May 2025 from Leeds. It was a huge life event for her and required careful planning. The manager understood our situation and was helpful and flexible in making plans. A room was reserved for her in advance and communications were good. Since her arrival, my mother has been treated with kindness, care and respect at all times. The staff have gone out of their way to make her feel at home, encouraging her to join in with activities when she feels able. She has commented on what a happy place Cramond Residence feels, from her point of view, and she enjoys chatting with other residents at mealtimes. The food is excellent and she has gained weight in the first few weeks . The nursing staff are proactive in contacting GPs about any medical needs and she has received excellent medical care (without my involvement). Her room is spacious and clean and the grounds provide an outdoor space for short walks. Highly recommended.
I recently spent a week at Cramond Residence. When my husband died I was faced with making decisions and feeling low. I so enjoyed my week. I had a lovely spacious room. The food was fabulous and so much kindness was shown to me. I felt at home. I will be back.
In any organisation, it is the top that determines the culture of the entire operation. The manager here is second to none and the ethos of the place fills down to the lowest staff member. Everyone in the Cramond Residence is focused on being the best.
I spent two weeks at Cramond Residence for rehabilitation after hip replacement surgery. My stay there enabled me to recover quickly. I was picked up from the hospital after my surgery, and was taken home after my stay at Cramond. The care from all staff was exceptional and it was reassuring to have nursing staff and physios there as well as care staff. I was really well looked after with professionalism friendliness and kindness. I have been very moved by my stay, and thank everyone. I could not have recovered so quickly without you all. The food was also great (compliments to the chefs and catering staff), as was my rainforest shower with a seat in my accessible bathroom. Cramond Residence is divided up into several corridors with their own lounges - the spaces are intimate and familiar with lovely decor. There is also a great cafe for residents and visitors. I would definitely consider returning to Cramond Residence when I get my other hip replaced in a year or so!
In early February my wife (90) and I (91) had a fortnight's respite care break in Cramond Residences to rest and recharge our batteries. They have us this and we were very pleased by how well they looked after us. The caring and nursing staff were extremely attentive and took a real interest in us, even though we were only short-term residents. The rooms were quite large and well-furnished, with very good beds. There was a comfortable lounge nearby, where we had our meals. There were other lounges too, and a very pleasant garden. However, not all was perfect - -The shower controls were stiff and difficult to move. -Switches for bedside lamps could only be comfortably reached by getting out of bed. - My wife has arthritic hands and found the button on the call bracelet very difficult to operate. -Little things spoiled some of the breakfasts - everything was brought at the same time which meant that by the time you had eaten cereal, hot courses and drinks had gone cold. These criticisms do not outweigh the overall very good standards of Cramond Residences. We benefitted greatly from our stay and are very grateful to all with whom we had dealings.
I came in after a fall - to recuperate. I am sole carer for my husband, so he came with me. We have been treated excellently, kindly and gently. This is a superb care home. I had my 92nd birthday here and they put on a cake and celebration for my family and myself.
Cramond Residence was first class. My 85 year old husband spent three weeks in Cramond following a broken hip and hip replacement. He had excellent care and lots of physio. All the staff were so kind and caring and one staff member in particular headed up a wonderful team. The food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.
Five star care, in a five star residence, my mum often thought she was staying in a hotel! All the staff went above and beyond to make my mum feel special, and she forged many close bonds, which felt like a family. Everyone, including all the background staff, would stop by for a chat. The care home has many different areas for people to use with homely lounges to meet up with family or other residents. These are maintained to a very high standard with quality furnishing, and make welcoming spaces for friends and family to meet. The ground floor has a cafe area with endless supplies of hot drinks and irresistible home baked cakes! When my mum passed last December, the compassion and sensitivity of care helped through an extremely difficult time. The attention to care, for both the resident and family is faultless and I highly recommend to anyone considering Cramond Residencefor short or long term stays, my mum having resided there for just over two years.
I found in Cramond Residence the perfect environment for post-operative convalescence. The staff were kind, friendly and attentive. My room, all facilities and catering were of the highest quality.
My dad moved to Cramond Residence on 9 October 2024. We have been so impressed from the very beginning by the excellent level of care provided to dad, by the kindness and understanding shown to him, and also to us, by all the members of staff on every level. Dad's room is beautiful and the residence in general is just lovely - lots of little sitting rooms, dining rooms, conservatory and garden. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Cramond Residence to anyone looking for the best possible long-term care for their loved ones.
Cramond Residence is a beautiful place with first class facilities, but it is the people who make it special. It is far and away the best care home I have been in (and I have been in many, in a professional capacity, over the years). I feel that not only is my dad properly seen as a person, but my family and I are too. Every member of staff I have met has been helpful, friendly, and responsive, often going above and beyond. It was my dad's 94th birthday last week and one particularly wonderful member of staff took all the candles OFF his cake so that my 3 year old granddaughter could put them back on and help carry in the cake! It felt like family in that moment. From the management team to the care assistants, housekeeping and catering staff, and receptionists, and everyone behind the scenes - brilliant.
This was the perfect place to recover from knee replacement surgery. The residence is very comfortable and the staff extremely kind and welcoming. The choice of food is very good. Facilities and staff to help with rehab are excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this option for rehabilitation.
Every detail at Cramond Residence is carefully thought of and executed to the highest standards. Professional, caring, staff. First class medical care. Delicious, healthy dining. Superior accommodation set in beautiful surroundings. Delightful entertainment along with first class hair and spa treatments. The perfect place to receive respite care. A wonderful experience.
Cramond Residence is the best residence to live in. The staff are friendly and highly professional. All of the rooms are amazingly high quality and fit for purpose. The meals all varied and delicious. The other residents are happy and friendly and all get along with each other and the staff. There are many varied types of internal and external events and great TV and library rooms. Last the newsletters are an excellent and varied read covering events and individuals.
The staff we interacted with (receptionists, nurses, carers, management) were all just excellent, really made the respite stay easy for my dad (resident) and the wider family. Was impressed by the facilities available to residents and by the food.
I arrived at Cramond Residence for rehabilitation following a hip replacement, at a mere 53 years old I was the youngest resident by far! Cramond Residence is simply amazing! The staff, without exception, are incredible. The love, care, attention and endless time given to each resident is exemplary. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Everyone has their own daily needs and routines and the staff provide one to one care. The building is split into 9 houses, same faces (both staff and residents) on each corridor and no overwhelming big spaces. I was lucky enough to be in Bonaly House and the whole team, day and night, were just incredible. It's not a job that I could do and I take my hat off to each and everyone here that has chosen a career in care. Amazing people. The highlight of each day was the mealtimes (3 courses twice a day!) and the 11am coffee/biscuit run and the 3pm coffee/cake cart! The food was amazing! Two weeks on I can safely say that this was the best decision I ever made!
