We arranged a respite stay for my mum, who has dementia, and are now very happy to make it permanent. The staff are absolutely amazing. Every single person, from reception & housekeeping to the carers, nurses & management team, have been incredibly friendly, kind & helpful. They genuinely go above &
beyond to make residents feel comfortable & well cared for. My mum is looked after so well and has everything she needs. The facilities are fantastic, especially the bistro. There's always something going on which keeps residents engaged & happy. Most importantly, my mum has settled in really well, which gives us huge peace of mind, we couldn't be more grateful to the entire team.

We chose Baycroft for my father initally as it was a modern bright home with good facilities. Dad needed full time care as his mobility dad declined and he'd also developed mild dementia.
Since being in Baycroft dad had several falls a week which was alarming and I did feel that this was due to
lack of staff, it'd often go the alarms were going and no staff seemed to be present. After a few months we were told by a social worker that the home could no longer meet my dads needs. This seemed to have come after I'd raised my concerns about the number of falls he was having and the lack of staff at times. Not once did the home approach the family to say that they were struggling to meet my dads needs Dad was a bit challenging at times as he was suffering with delirium and what they said was dementia. Dad displayed these signs when he was assessed by the home in hospital. This home should be a residential home only if i cannot care for people with dementia

Mum initially arrived here for respite after a stay in hospital. She had been reluctant to agree to respite but after only a short stay here has applied to be a permanent resident. The staff have been amazing from the very start and we are over the moon with the care she has recieved. Mum feels
totally at home now and as a family we could not have asked for more. Such a great team.

What can I say about Baycroft? First thing is 'when can I move in?' It's a shame we have to wait until later in life to really experience Baycroft, when perhaps its not appreciated as much as it should be. When I visit (and also dine in), I can see how attentive the staff are and how residents are
cared for. I also know it's not put on as I visit most days, at different times and different areas of the building. Should the time come for me to need a care home (hopefully not for another forty years or so), I hope I'm as lucky to find (or be placed in) a place as good as that.

My husband has resided in Baycroft for just over a year. I find the staff caring and approachable and are able to handle any "situations" with ease. The library is well stocked and there are numerous activities on the go as well as outings for the residents which appear to be well appreciated. The
food is quite varied and appears to suit most palates. Drinks (non alcoholic) are readily available. The Care Home is clean and warm as are the bedrooms. A delightful garden in which to sit in sunny weather, birds to feed and plants to grow in the greenhouse. All in all 100%

Night staff took long time to respond and he wet the bed several times which was very upsetting. Night staff were often unfriendly and impatient. Support we expected for night wasn't there. Lack of bars in shower area, perching stool in bathroom would be useful, chair provided was not suitable, Lack
of support for Parkinson's issues, mobility has deteriorated badly since his stay, Brien was deregistered from our GP by Baycroft which caused problem when back home plus pharmacy for repeat meds was changed and not returned to normal pharmacy. On the plus side, daytime staff were helpful and friendly. The building was always warm and clean. Reception staff during the weekdays were very approachable and helpful.

My mother is now in her fourth week of respite care at Baycroft, and will become a permanent resident, I have been very impressed by the level of care she has received to date, and with the friendly caring nature of all the staff. This has helped my mother settle in relatively quickly.
Talking to
the staff on my mother's floor, it is clear that they really do care. For them, this is more than something done to earn money and pay bills.
Whilst my mother was initially nervous to leave her room, she ventured into the shared dining room for Lunch when my wife visited on her third day, and has been joining the fireside she met there ever since. The conversation around the table may have been limited (as most there have varying degrees of dementia), but included lots of comments on how good the food is.

Would be good to have wooden floors in bedrooms and different flooring in shower. Reason is keeping it clean easier.
Bistro is good social area.
Garden and outdoor space is lovely.

I have seen Baycroft grow from a few residents to a full home. Along side new staff have come and established staff have stayed with residents too. They all smile, are friendly and caring. My friend moved in on mobility grounds and had never used a gym before, watched a film in a theatre with
popcorn, played bingo and enjoys fun things new to him at 88!!

say, we are very satisfied with the home, highly recommend!
