Baycroft Flitwick Care Home

I have been visiting Baycroft for nearly over three years now by having my late father in law as a resident and then a good friend. It is a very good place for anyone with issues regarding mobility, minor health needs and dementia. The entertainment team are brilliant they hold activities for everyone and even staff join in. The building has many areas to relax and enjoy chatting to your loved one.

The care given to residents at Baycroft is first class. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care given to my mother who has been in the home for more than 2 years. The staff are efficient, caring and kind. I am always impressed by how they remember all the residents' names and their preferences, such as their favourite drinks and food. Visitors are always welcome and invited to participate in the many activities put on in the home. Everything is well organised and managed. I am so glad we found this amazing home for mum.

Dad was never really a great man for being social but thanks to the big efforts by the team he soon started to join in with all activities and he had a spark back into his life and I will never be able to praise the staff enough for all their hard work and success with my Dad.

Your staff are compassionate and friendly, yet professional. They work hard to meet Mum's needs. Any concerns I have raised have always been addressed swiftly. Mum is always spoken to with curtesy and the family and myself are always greeted warmly.

Overall, the home has a family feel and whilst all the staff are great, special mention should be made of the engagement staff - the redcoats of the care home - who go to extraordinary lengths to arrange activities. They have even accompanied my father to pick up the paper from the garage as he likes to get up and about.

I am a regular visitor to Baycroft and have been for the last two years. I feel like the staff are family, everyone polite and caring, they all know me by name now. The range of activities are amazing, there is always something going on be it games or musical entertainment. The staff are very helpful and a constant smile, if I have any concerns they are always there to take note and help wherever they can. Keep up the great work!

We were looking for a care home for my mum, who has dementia. We were looking for a home that was purpose built, with facilities that would help her remain safe & well looked after. Baycroft has been a god send! Staff are friendly, caring & attentive. Rooms are clean & tidy (don't smell) food is a focus with lots of variety & the entertainment team are always up to something to stimulate residents. Excellent home!

The facilities are excellent throughout and the equipment is modern.The individual bedrooms and bathrooms are maintained to the highest standard. There is a daily programme of activities which serves to keep the patients involved. I have always felt welcome on my frequent visits to my wife and never made to feel that I was in the way.

All of the staff are extremely helpful and caring towards my grandad and he feels extremely at home staying here :) He is cared for very well.

Baycroft have gone out of there way to help my mum to settle in her new environment. All of the staff are kind and extremely respectful. The whole building is extremely clean and the individual rooms are lovely. After a tricky start Mum has settled really well and is happy at Baycroft. The facilities are really good not only for the residents but for visiting friends and family.

We arranged a respite stay for my mum, who has dementia, and are now very happy to make it permanent. The staff are absolutely amazing. Every single person, from reception & housekeeping to the carers, nurses & management team, have been incredibly friendly, kind & helpful. They genuinely go above & beyond to make residents feel comfortable & well cared for. My mum is looked after so well and has everything she needs. The facilities are fantastic, especially the bistro. There's always something going on which keeps residents engaged & happy. Most importantly, my mum has settled in really well, which gives us huge peace of mind, we couldn't be more grateful to the entire team.

Since being in Baycroft dad had several falls a week which was alarming and I did feel that this was due to lack of staff, it'd often go the alarms were going and no staff seemed to be present. After a few months we were told by a social worker that the home could no longer meet my dads needs. This seemed to have come after I'd raised my concerns about the number of falls he was having and the lack of staff at times. Not once did the home approach the family to say that they were struggling to meet my dads needs Dad was a bit challenging at times as he was suffering with delirium and what they said was dementia. Dad displayed these signs when he was assessed by the home in hospital. This home should be a residential home only if i cannot care for people with dementia

Mum initially arrived here for respite after a stay in hospital. She had been reluctant to agree to respite but after only a short stay here has applied to be a permanent resident. The staff have been amazing from the very start and we are over the moon with the care she has recieved. Mum feels totally at home now and as a family we could not have asked for more. Such a great team.

What can I say about Baycroft? First thing is 'when can I move in?' It's a shame we have to wait until later in life to really experience Baycroft, when perhaps its not appreciated as much as it should be. When I visit (and also dine in), I can see how attentive the staff are and how residents are cared for. I also know it's not put on as I visit most days, at different times and different areas of the building. Should the time come for me to need a care home (hopefully not for another forty years or so), I hope I'm as lucky to find (or be placed in) a place as good as that.

My stepmother is being very well looked after. The staff are kind and cheerful and the range of activities is great. She is treated with dignity and is always well dressed and clean.

Baycroft is a wonderful place. The staff are really attentive and caring, and mum has made so many new friends here. She really feels that it's her home

My husband has resided in Baycroft for just over a year. I find the staff caring and approachable and are able to handle any "situations" with ease. The library is well stocked and there are numerous activities on the go as well as outings for the residents which appear to be well appreciated. The food is quite varied and appears to suit most palates. Drinks (non alcoholic) are readily available. The Care Home is clean and warm as are the bedrooms. A delightful garden in which to sit in sunny weather, birds to feed and plants to grow in the greenhouse. All in all 100%
