Mum has been at Poets Mews for a few months now. When she arrived she was very reluctant to be there. Since then she has, unfortunately, had several stays in hospital. I cannot fault the staff for their attentiveness and care in getting Mum the help she needed every time she needed to go into
hospital. Absolutely fantastic and made us, her family, feel so reassured knowing that she was in the best hands possible. Thank you. Now that Mum is back in the care home, she is much happier and knows herself that it is the best place for her to be. She is fond of several of the staff, gets involved in as many of the great activities as she can, loves having her hair done by the hairdresser and enjoys going up to the cinema to see a film. She has made a few friends as well. Us as a family also feel very welcome when we visit. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional.

Joyce has been a resident at Poet's Muse for 14 months. In that time she has been treated with kindness, professionalism, care and fondness by every member of staff in every job role day and night. Everyone plays an integral part in Mum's stay. Her health, wellbeing and stability are assessed daily
and appropriate action taken along with discussing and informing us at every step.
Mum has thrived since being at Poet's Muse, she is calm , content and happy due to the wonderful care, food, activities, cleanliness and maintenance of her room and surroundings. She loves having her hair done every week. All the relatives are made to feel so welcome day or night and we have been made to feel part of her new family. Grandchildren and great grandchildren love visiting ' Nana's Hotel' and it really is, with an abundance of additional extras. They think of every little detail to make residents and relatives feel wanted and special. Thank you all so much, we can truly relax when we aren't with Mum

My father in law has been in Poets Mews nearly 3 years.
After initially enjoying his stay in the residential wing he's now in the nursing section after a long stay in hospital. The improvement in his health after that hospital stay has been great and is down to the wonderful nursing team in that
area.
We've found the management team, nursing team and all the staff so professional, kind, approachable and caring.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Poets Mews to anyone, be it for residential, respite, nursing or dementia care.
Keep up the great work team PM. 10/10 from us!

The Care our mum receives at Poets Mews is excellent. In particular the range of activities are brilliant. The Food is wonderful and the accommodation is like a hotel.
We always feel welcome and part of mum's experience.
Issues that I would like improved :
*more one to one talking and walking
with mum, residents should have at least 45 mins a day when staff talk with them and walk them around to keep them mobile
*when there is an activity- remembering to get mum to it,
*more care on personal hygiene ( teeth brushing and nail cleaning in particular),
*more active watching of TV. The Lounge TV is often on pause when I visit and it should be that someone ensures that there is always something on in the TV room.

Poets Mews you make a difference and especially when it really counts. Many thanks to Ian who went out of his way today to take Dad to a hospice in Bristol to see his wife on her birthday., and to all the wonderful team that helped make it happen. We can't thank you enough.
From reception to
personal care, senior nursing staff to management and a special mention to Jude in entertainment. You are all amazing.

My father was lucky enough to move into Poets Mews in Sept 2025 after a fairly long illness. During the 3 months of his stay until he sadly passed away, his care was second to none. The staff were exemplary and looked after my dad as if they were family. In fact evey single member of staff was
utterly professional and also just lovely, caring people who couldn't do enough for Dad, or us, his family. I know that my dad felt extremely at home at Poets Mews, he wanted for nothing, their attention to detail and patience was heartwarming. Towards the end, the team rallied around us and made such a sad time loving and respectful. As a family, we can't thank everyone at Poets Mews enough for their support when my dad passed away recently and for their wonderful continued care of my mom. Thank you, everyone, from the bottom of our hearts.

I don't know where or how to start, my grandmother came to poets mews a year and 3 months ago and she had a fabulous time, lots of happy memories from trips to the garden centre to enjoying having her hair done in the hair salon at Poets Mews too puzzles and family meals and more, she enjoyed the
food and loved the staff, she had a sense of humour and this went down really well with others, sadly she passed away in November and the staff as always were amazing ensuring she wasn't in pain and that she was comfortable, to delivering food to the family who were taking it in turns to stay with her, the home is purpose built and has everything you could ever wish for!
A big thank you to the team for making my grandmothers stay a happy and memorable one, my family and I will be forever grateful, the management and all the team do a fantastic job! A big thank you to you all!

My mother has positively rallied since joining Poets Mews in April 2025. Staff on Mum's wing are friendly and genuinely liked by my mum. I personally appreciate how attentive staff are to Mum's needs, ensuring she is active in the mornings but can rest when she needs to as well. Very grateful to
Poets Mews responding quickly to any medical needs Mum has expressed in her short time there - I would thoughourly recommend Poets Mews to any familities needing peace of mind for the care of older relatives.

Very warm welcome on arrival.
All staff very friendly and helpful.
Room and communal areas spotlessly clean.
Food really good, excellent choices.
The summer fayre was entertaining.
Only negative was being woken during the nights by a resident shouting loudly for a nurse.

My mum had a 2 week respite stay following surgery. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and caring from
the start. The bedroom was lovely, the garden was beautiful and all the facilities were very well kept and clean. Overall the food was good but some days were better than others. The
hairdresser was lovely and my mum enjoyed watching a film in the cinema room. The only negative is there was a very noisy resident on my mums floor who was shouting at night, this only happened once or twice. My mum would definitely stay here again as her overall experience was very positive. The stay helped her recuperate and improve in readiness to go home.

Friendly, caring staff delivering great person centred care . Gran says that she feels spoilt here & everyone looks after her. Menu is varied & food always looks appetising.
Always a lovely relaxed & happy atmosphere.

The building is fantastic with plenty of parking. All area's are beautifully decorated and kept immaculate.
However, the bad points are the food is often served cold, the staff seem unhappy. I asked for my father's medication to be given early evening rather than waking him past 9pm every night.
This took 3 requests before it was actioned.
My father was often left alone in his room and as he was confused about how to work the TV was left sitting staring at the walls. I asked if staff could turn the tv or dvd on and was left feeling I'd asked for too much.
Lastly my dad had a fall & taken to hospital where it transpired he'd had a urinal infection which caused dizziness. The staff told us before he was allowed back he'd need an assessment.
We were not contacted by the staff but eventually my mum found out that they had done the assessment and he'd need nursing care & he'd have to find a new nursing home as they were full. This bombshell dropped on a frail 87 yr old lady. Poor show

We visited our auntie yesterday and what a beautiful place. Very friendly and helpful staff, bright and cheery and it felt so welcoming. Our auntie's room was lovely, everything was clean and everywhere we went was spotless. All the residents we met seemed very happy and very well cared for. Our
auntie had a short stay (10 days) and she seemed very settled and comfortable. A wonderful place, thank you for looking after her so well.

I find the situation very enjoyable the staff are excellent and make you feel you are a person not someone off the street.

Mother has been at care home for a few months now. We have found Poets to be well run, friendly and clean. Mother is well looked after with plenty of interaction with carers/staff with good activities going on to break up the day. Overall Poets is like a hotel with a warm welcome always given.

Poets Mews Care Home is very light and open, kept very clean and staff are very friendly and approachable. Management are contactable and communicate through online meetings and email. Residents are treated with kindness and respect and their room spaces are respected, with knocks before entering.
Mum seems to spend time on her own in her room and we are not sure how much encouragement she receives from staff to be more sociable and involved with daily activities. Overall, we are very pleased with Mum's care.

Fab care home the staff are super and always smiling.
25 February 2025
Lovely home, warm and welcoming, reception staff are very attentive and management are always available when wanting to talk with them, all staff are friendly and caring and I couldn't ask for anything better for my gran, she is always well presented and happy!

A smiley and friendly receptionist greets us on arrival, excellent care staff, they are very caring to all the residents, very clean home. I love following Poets Mews Care Home on social media, seeing the photos of mum enjoying the activities and smiling when I am not visiting her and unable to see
it myself. Living in Dorset is especially nice that I can book a meal in the private dining room and have it with mum when we visit. Any little issues are promptly sorted out by the handymen. Mum has settled in and says she is being spoilt and lucky to find a lovely home. This is a first-class care home, thank you and well done.
