View Full Details of Poets Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareVery warm welcome on arrival. All staff very friendly and helpful. Room and communal areas spotlessly clean. Food really good, excellent choices. The summer fayre was entertaining. Only negative was being woken during the nights by a resident shouting loudly for a nurse.
My mum had a 2 week respite stay following surgery. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and caring from the start. The bedroom was lovely, the garden was beautiful and all the facilities were very well kept and clean. Overall the food was good but some days were better than others. The hairdresser was lovely and my mum enjoyed watching a film in the cinema room. The only negative is there was a very noisy resident on my mums floor who was shouting at night, this only happened once or twice. My mum would definitely stay here again as her overall experience was very positive. The stay helped her recuperate and improve in readiness to go home.
Friendly, caring staff delivering great person centred care . Gran says that she feels spoilt here & everyone looks after her. Menu is varied & food always looks appetising. Always a lovely relaxed & happy atmosphere.
The building is fantastic with plenty of parking. All area's are beautifully decorated and kept immaculate. However, the bad points are the food is often served cold, the staff seem unhappy. I asked for my father's medication to be given early evening rather than waking him past 9pm every night. This took 3 requests before it was actioned. My father was often left alone in his room and as he was confused about how to work the TV was left sitting staring at the walls. I asked if staff could turn the tv or dvd on and was left feeling I'd asked for too much. Lastly my dad had a fall & taken to hospital where it transpired he'd had a urinal infection which caused dizziness. The staff told us before he was allowed back he'd need an assessment. We were not contacted by the staff but eventually my mum found out that they had done the assessment and he'd need nursing care & he'd have to find a new nursing home as they were full. This bombshell dropped on a frail 87 yr old lady. Poor show
Very happy with mum's care. She is happy and say everyone is nice.
We visited our auntie yesterday and what a beautiful place. Very friendly and helpful staff, bright and cheery and it felt so welcoming. Our auntie's room was lovely, everything was clean and everywhere we went was spotless. All the residents we met seemed very happy and very well cared for. Our auntie had a short stay (10 days) and she seemed very settled and comfortable. A wonderful place, thank you for looking after her so well.
I find the situation very enjoyable the staff are excellent and make you feel you are a person not someone off the street.
Mother has been at care home for a few months now. We have found Poets to be well run, friendly and clean. Mother is well looked after with plenty of interaction with carers/staff with good activities going on to break up the day. Overall Poets is like a hotel with a warm welcome always given.
Every member of staff are friendly, supportive, patient, professional and always have time for the residents and their family. The whole team no matter what their job are involved in making my dear mum as comfortable, happy and well cared for at all times night and day. We could not ask for more from any care home. Thank you from our hearts to everyone.
Poets Mews Care Home is very light and open, kept very clean and staff are very friendly and approachable. Management are contactable and communicate through online meetings and email. Residents are treated with kindness and respect and their room spaces are respected, with knocks before entering. Mum seems to spend time on her own in her room and we are not sure how much encouragement she receives from staff to be more sociable and involved with daily activities. Overall, we are very pleased with Mum's care.
Fab care home the staff are super and always smiling.
Lovely home, warm and welcoming, reception staff are very attentive and management are always available when wanting to talk with them, all staff are friendly and caring and I couldn't ask for anything better for my gran, she is always well presented and happy!
A smiley and friendly receptionist greets us on arrival, excellent care staff, they are very caring to all the residents, very clean home. I love following Poets Mews Care Home on social media, seeing the photos of mum enjoying the activities and smiling when I am not visiting her and unable to see it myself. Living in Dorset is especially nice that I can book a meal in the private dining room and have it with mum when we visit. Any little issues are promptly sorted out by the handymen. Mum has settled in and says she is being spoilt and lucky to find a lovely home. This is a first-class care home, thank you and well done.
This is the second time I have been to Poets Mews for a week's respite and I must say If I had to go to a care home this is the one I would definitely consider. All the staff are so kind, nothing is too much trouble. The foreign staff were especially helpful. Having a facility for hot drinks at any time is a bonus. Thank you all.
Find staff very supportive and kind to all my needs. The food is very good. The activities are also very good and varied, staff very good.
A huge thank you to the staff at Poets Mews who made our family celebrations with Mum on her 93rd Birthday such a special day. It was her first Birthday at Poets Mews after moving in a couple of months ago. Where she has settled in very well and is enjoying all that Poets Mews offers. We as a family are so happy with the care so far, that Mum has received since becoming a part of the community at Poets Mews!
We are very happy with Poets Mews as is my father. The staff are always helpful and cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. It was my father's 90th birthday this month and the staff made it a very special day for him to enjoy. A lovely cake was made and shared. We find all aspects of Poets Mews excellent and would recommend to others.
Dad has settled very well into Poets Mews. The facilities are excellent, clean and in particular the staff at all levels are kind, friendly and inclusive. I always get a big welcome, and Dad is very obviously well looked after and above all safe. Minor points would be some more activities for men - most of the male residents are engineers it seems - and they would enjoy a model construction/building club? Maybe better communication re health please.
Exceptional service by everyone at Poets Mews, from reception, carers, food, cleaning and activities. Mum is really happy there. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They show genuine affection and really care. Everyone I see there greets you and spends time, keeping us informed how she is doing. We could not ask for more. Thank you all.
A well-run, clean and tidy home with caring and helpful staff.
