The end of life care our mother recently received at Hazel End Care Home was exemplary. Whilst being professional and totally respectful, the staff looked after her and us with kindness and gentle care.
Thank you all.

I have no issues with anything at this home. My elderly mother with dementia is well cared for in all respect. On my last visit, 17/3/26, I stayed with my mother, along with my sister, for lunch with mum. We were well catered for, food was well cooked, tasty, well presented, and even the head chef
came to speak to us. The whole experience was enjoyable.

We have had two relatives/friends in the care home for the last 4 years and always found it to be well run. It is always very clean, and staff at all levels are always very polite, caring and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. It is a very well run home, and the manager knows all the residents.
The senior carers are very good and always happy to discuss any queries, answer questions, and help with any needs. Communication is also key; we are always greeted well by reception staff, our only criticism is the food has not been as good of late.

Excellent care, but extremely poor funding advice
My mother was a resident at Hazel End Care Home for several months. The care she received was excellent. The carers were kind, compassionate and treated her with dignity and kindness. The facilities are very good. and the environment is welcoming
and comfortable.
However, the funding advice we were given was extremely misleading. Before my mother moved in, I made repeated enquiries about whether the home accepted Local Authority funding and whether they would negotiate rates if necessary. I was assured that this would not be a problem. This proved not to be the case, and my mother ultimately had to move after only just settling in. This was very distressing - there seems to have been either a serious level of incompetence or, worse, intentional misleading on the part of Hazel End Management.
I would strongly advise families to get clear guidance from the Local Authority about funding arrangements before committing.

My mother entered the home during covid - 2020. Her care has been amazing. She is very insular, so the carers always spend time with her chatting. She is 93 now, and from being very extroverted, she is quieter. However, all the carers understand and try and encourage her. Also, I would like to point
out how wonderful everyone has been with me, as I obviously am finding it very difficult!

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all the staff at Hazel End for their continuous care and kindness shown to my sister-in-law on every occasion I have visited her. They all have a smile, and nothing is too much trouble. There is always a calm atmosphere and gentle background music
playing. Well done to the whole team.

The management made the process as smooth and supportive as possible, guiding us throughout. The staff work exceptionally well together as a team, making visits at anytime a pleasure. We feel our loved one is very well cared for and safe in a clean environment with all her needs met. The staff keep
us fully informed and welcome family in making us feel part of the team. The care home has a very calm and happy atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble.

We bought my 89 year old Mum into Hazel End for a 3-week respite after having undergone sudden emergency brain surgery, which affected her mobility, amongst other things.
Each & every member of staff have been absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them, Mum's care has been
exceptional, and she has enjoyed her stay here at Hazel End, so much so, that she has even said "If ever the times comes when I can't manage myself at home, I would be happy to live here". I, as her daughter, never thought I would hear her say that!
As a family, we can't rate Hazel End enough, they welcomed us into their family, and each and everyday that mum has been there we have not had to worry about a thing.
A massive thank you to all the management & staff at Hazel End.

My husband, Jeff, spent the last eighteen months of his life at Hazel End. He had dementia and at times staff had to literally run around after him. They were always patient and kind and seemed to see the person behind the illness. I never had any concerns about the care Jeff received and at the end
his palliative care was simply excellent.

My mother has been a resident at Hazel End for nearly 3 years. The home not only more than meets our needs, but the staff always manage to be able to go the extra mile. In our dealings with the management, any issues that we have raised have been resolved to the best of their ability instantly,
which I must state is no mean feat with the number of residents and staff whom at some time must need issues resolved. I feel I made an excellent choice choosing Hazel End. Alan.

I cannot fault the staff and management. I feel safe here, they go out of their way to help you in every way they can. Nothing is too much for them to help you in any way that they can. The house keeping team I cannot fault. I would recommend Hazel End Care Home to anyone thinking of coming into
care.

There have been quite a few changes in caring and other staff, but seem to have gone through smoothly without affecting residents. Continuity of staff and routines is of paramount importance to residents suffering from Dementia/Alzheimer's conditions, and this has been handled by management and care
staff most admirably. Thank you

My father moved into Hazel End in September last year and as he was 99 and still living independently, we had started looking at the possibility of him moving into a care home and when a room became available, we were not going to let the opportunity pass him by.
At first, he didn't want to stay (I
believe he was home sick sadly), but this was not the case for long and gradually he has become part of the Hazel End family.
He has so many friends there, both residents and staff and once more, he is somebody and not just an old man living on his own.
He loves the exercise classes there, adores his cheeky chats with the staff and is so happy with the folk who he shares a table with at meal times.
We are convinced that if he hadn't made this move, that he would not longer be with us, but he is and he is absolutely thriving and looking forward to turning 100 in a couple of days.
We cannot thank the staff enough, for their kindness, compassion, patience and professionalism, you're amazing.

The home has stimulated my dad and kept him going for the last couple of years but it's the little things that have stopped me give excellent all round. I've had to remind cares on more than one occasion to do things that I don't find acceptable.
