View Full Details of Candlewood HouseOverwhelmingly welcoming & friendly staff! They took the time to make a personal introduction and provided useful information about my grandma. The facilities were clean throughout & visitors were catered for. My grand-mother only has positive views of the facilities & staff.
Initial impressions on entry are excellent: a welcoming space, bright and contemporary. The staff greet you and engage with you readily. The menu looks excellent, with a variety of dishes.
Candlewood House is an extremely good care home. The staff and care are outstanding. Without exception every single staff member give their all. So happy my mum is here! Thank you, everyone.
Very pleasant visit, made us feel extremely welcome and it feels like a good home. Grandma looks happy, stimulated and better than ever, thank you!
Veyr nice place, the staff is excellent. Very good quality services.
The staff are cheerful & caring. The management of the care home take all concerns seriously and try to go above and beyond to make the care home a home for residents.
My father settled into life at Candlewood House immediately. He receives excellent, friendly care, and he has a lovely circle of friends amongst his fellow residents. The room are bright, cheerful, welcoming and homely, and the programme of entertainment offers something of interest for all. Moving my father to Candlewood really was the best decision, and he hasn't looked back. He is safe, happy and cared for to a very high level, and it is a wonderful place to visit him.
I found my 3-week respite at Candlewood a very pleasant transition between hospital and home. It is indeed a tonic to be greeted by so many smiling and friendly faces throughout, and a warm welcome is generously displayed to all outside visitors. Thank you to all, from management to junior employees at Candlewood House.
Life has changed dramatically for my father since moving into Candlewood House. He is surrounded by caring, cheerful staff in a safe and beautiful environment. The design of the home lends well to socialisation, and my father has made friends. There are a varied range of activities which he enjoys. I continue to be impressed by the professional staff and the warm, caring environment.
Well Candlewood House what a wonderful place. What amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. My husband is still getting used to his routine but slowly he is getting used to it. I think it is an amazing place.
I would highly recommend this care home for giving exemplary care for our father's final few months. The support we received at this difficult time was first class.
From visiting Candlewood Care Home I can understand that all the residents are well looked after by the carers and staff who run the home. Everybody is happy. Everything is excellent in the care home.
The manager and her very capable team did right by our father and in the process made a big difference to the quality of the last phase of his life. Their care interventions and consideration certainly lengthened his time by several months - this sometimes involved late night and early morning calls and at one point a member of staff even came in from home to hold his hand and reassure him. The team formed relationships with him that went beyond what you might expect treating our, at times, demanding father, with respect, dignity and going out of their way to accommodate his requests. He was impressed by and liked the individuals that cared for him. Being able to have his books and pictures round him helped make the room his own. How they do this with such compassion and humor day in, day out is quite something.
My friend has cancer of the oesophagus and after 2 stints in hospital he was too weak to go home. He was referred to Candlewood House. It was perfect, lots of room in general including his own room, very easy access, friendly and at meal times it always smelled delicious. There is always a choice of hot and cold drinks and snacks for family and guests too. Due to how weak he was, my friend never took part in any of the available activities. The cancer spread too fast taking him from us too soon. As someone who worked in a home before, Candlewood House is the perfect place. I'd be happy to visit my own family here if it came to that.
All at the care home could not have done more for my brother at the end of his life. They all went above and beyond to make him feel at home and comfortable, and to treat him with compassion and respect. They also provided great support to me as his relative, and to his other visiting friends. I highly recommend this care home, not only for its staff, but also for its facilities (including a cinema room, private and communal dining areas, and daily activities for residents who wish to participate in them). Residents are treated as people who matter, with honesty, and cared for in a safe, well-maintained and friendly environment.
Very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Care, thorough attentive and kind. There is a feeling of safety, always people to help and protect. A happy environment.
My mother-in-law spent her final days at Candlewood House. The care and facilities were exquisite. Our family member was treated with such great care, but we as a family were also looked after beautifully. The manager especially was so kind and thoughtful and made a very difficult time much, much easier to bear. I highly recommend Candlewood House, as a family member and as a former nurse myself. 10 out of 10 and much gratitude from our family.
My father's Alzheimer's was quite advanced when he went to Candlewood House for respite care and he never really settled but this was not the fault of the staff, who made every effort to help. Carers were all kind, gentle, friendly and respectful. The food was of a high standard and the place is clean, warm and attractively furnished and decorated. Perhaps more effort could be made to alleviate boredom in the dementia patients and to cater for individual tastes - my father will happily listen to the radio for hours, but I believe he never heard one note of classical music there, only Muzak most mealtimes.
When looking for a safe, caring environment for our mum, Candlewood House was head and shoulders above anywhere else we researched. From the moment we called to arrange a tour, we were pleasantly surprised at the open door policy the care home had. We arranged a visit quickly and from the moment we arrived, we knew this was the place for our mum. Mum was invited for lunch and we went along while she had the tour and also had lunch which was lovely. An assessment was done the same day amazingly and within the week our mum had moved in. Mum has never been open to the idea of residential care until visiting Candlewood House and seeing the level of care and attention to detail provided. The care home manager is truly wonderful and genuinely caring and mum has taken to her straight away. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and the welcome Mum got on her arrival was outstanding. So far so good and as far as we are concerned, this is the best decision we could have made!
Never knew Candlewood existed until my friend, for whom I am next of kin, was taken there. The best place she could have been prior to her passing. They were patient, kind, reassuring and understandable. They treat others with dignity and kept us up to day every step of the way. I am happy to recommend Candlewood for others including my own family.
