Thank you for your kind words and wonderful feedback. It is rewwarding to hear our team helped make both you and your family feel at ease.
Our mother moved to Candlewood House after she suffered a stroke in Summer 2025. We were so impressed by the devoted care provided by all the staff at the Candlewood; carers, nurses, kitchen staff, cleaners, office staff and management. Our mother was left with multiple basic care needs. The staff not only gently supported her with her basic needs, they treated her with such kindness and respect, helping her to communicate and participate in all activities. Thank you so much for your love and patience.
Thank you for taking the time share your kind words. It is good to know that your mum and family felt supported well cared for. Your postive feedback means alot to the team. Thankyou!
Candlewood House exceeds al of my expectations. My aunt arrived ona bank holiday weekend, but you would never have known that. Staff greeted her warmly with great kindenss and respect. On day one, all staff remembered not only her name but mine. Staff went out of their way to bake a birthday cake for her 90th and sung to her. I feel incredibly fortunate to leave my auntie in the careful, kind and thoughtful care of Candlewood House staff.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experince. It was a pleasure to celebrate your aunt's 90th birthday at Candlewood.

Can't say enough about this lovely care home, the staff are a ray of sunshine, always smiling and caring, willing to talk and explain things. My mum is very happy here and always saying how lovely everyone is, so much so that I'm thinking of putting my name down (a fair few years yet). The food is excellent, and its nice to see they have menus. Mum says its better than a 5 star hotel, and I have to agree. Well done Candlewood House.
Thank you for your wonderful reviewand kind words about Candlewood House. We are pleased to hear how happy your mum is with us and that she feels well cared for by the team. Your feedback about our team, food and overall atmosphere is important to us. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experince.
I am happy to provide a positive review for this care home. My relation has been here as a resident since July 2025. During this time she has been well cared for, made to feel welcome, safe and secure. She is encouraged to participate in daily activities and hence has developed a close knit circle of friends. Us as a family are happy wtih the level of care she receives staff are helpful and friendly.
Thank you so much for your kind review and postive feed back. We pleased to hear your relative has felt welcome, safe and secure since becoming a resident at Candlewood. It is wonderful to know she has enjoyed taking part in activities and has build friendships within the home.
Extremely caring staff who go the extra mile to ensure mum has brilliant, respectful care. The home is beautiful without feeling like a hotel or too sterile.
I would like to highly commend Mariella and the Wellness team. Mum was very 'closed off' due to deafness and was failing cognitively. We found a new device- headphones which amplify- which are so good. Mariella takes the time and effort to get mum involved in activities with the other residents- she gently won't take no for an answer- and the improvement is immense. No laziness here, just gently persuasion and care.
THANK YOU TO ALL.
PS please can I nominate Mariella as 'staff member of the month' ?

Most wonderful nursing home, very caring staff, always going above their duties to help everybody, residents and visitors alike. Nothing was too much for them. The staff were always very happy and very polite. Very clean, excellent rooms. I cannot thank them enough for all the care my husband was given during the time he spent there. Wonderful staff even down to the cleaners and laundry staff.
Thank you for your kind words and heartfelt review. It means alot to the team to know that the care your husband received made a postive difference. We are honoured to have been able to care for your husband. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.
I spent 6 weeks at Candlewood House for post-surgery care when I wasn't able to walk and look after myself independently. The whole team, from management, through nursing, carer and welfare staff have been fantastic. The care and support I've received has been professional, knowledgable and above all caring and friendly. It has been a real home away from home when I most needed it and gave me the safe environment to just rest and heal. My healing has actually been quite accelerated and I'm certain that's partly down to the amazing care and reassurance I've received at Candlewood. Thank you, I am so grateful for everything!
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. We wish you continued health and recovery, and all the very best for the future
Candlewood House has been an absolute joy. The environment is calm, clean and beautiful, the food is varied and good, the activities are creative, the nights feel safe, the standard of care and nursing is high but, most of all, the whole staff team - including management, admin, reception, nursing, support staff, care - are welcoming, professional, warm and kind. When I first visited Candlewood House, I thought that my very frail, very elderly mum would not be able to benefit from the many things on offer; but to my surprise, in the short time she's been there, she's growing into the place, and blossoming! Its heartening to know that the eldest residents are over 100 - they're clearly doing something right! Thank you, Candlewood House - you really make a difference!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We are so pleased mum has settled in and is "blossoming" with us. It is wonderful to know that you value the calm and welcoming enviroment, the quality and variety of food and activities offered, and the sense of saftey at night. Thank you for your trust and taking time to share your experience.
Candlewood House has given excellent care to a 96-year--old family friend who needs both nursing and dementia care. The management is well organised, the home is spotlessly clean and all the staff including management, administration, and support staff are kind and caring. The level of care is such that there has been a noticeable improvement in my friend's health and wellbeing within a month. The wide range of activities and good quality food has also had a beneficial effect on her mental well being. Her daughter is finally able to relax, knowing that her mother is well cared for and safe at all times. Even though I'm only a friend, I'm made to feel as welcome as if I were family. Candlewood House is expensive but worth every penny. I cannot thank everyone at Candlewood House enough for their professionalism and care. In short, Candlewood House is a five-star across the board!
Thank you for the lovely, thoughful and detailed review. It means a lot to the team that your friend has experienced such positive improvements in her health and wellbeing. Your kind words about feeling welcomed as part of the family are very touching. Creating a warm, inclusive enviroment for everyone is incredibly important to us. Thank you again for your feedback.
Accommodating staff. Great facilities & care givers were observant.

My mother has been extremely happy in Candlewood House and has been looked after so very well and treated wtih the utmost care and dignity. The staff are extremely attentive, friendly and hard working. When she first arrived, she was very poorly, but was nursed back to almost being her old self again. I would not hesitate in recommending Candlewood House to others for their loved ones to reside in.
Thank you for taking the time to post a wonderful review. We are pleased to hear how happy your mother has been and that you have felt confident in the care she has received.
My mother was born in 1923 so she doesn't use the activities.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. Its a pleasure caring for mum.
The home was spotlessly clean ,the rooms were beautiful and airy with enough space for us to sit with my Lovely Dad .The food was delicious and varied everyday .
There are activities everyday which you can decide if you join in or not .
I wish my lovely Dad could of been in their care sooner and for longer .
Thank you all at Candlewood for looking after my lovely Dad .
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your feedback means a great deal to our team and our thoughts remain with you and your family.
My dear Dad was only here for a short time, but WOW this place feels like a 5* luxurious hotel. The management team and all the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. From the lobby to the rooms, lounge areas, dining and outside garden is spotlessly clean. The nursing staff were fantastic who cared for my Dad day and night. The menu was varied and of high standard food. There is a lovely seating area where visitors can make their own refreshments and have a snack. The weekly activities which take place here are varied, they have a book club, cinema, bingo, live singers and much much more, they also have monthly events and whilst we were there they had a lovely jazz singer one lunchtime. This place blew me away, when you think of a care home, this exceeded all my expectations as you want the best of the best for your parents. They made my Dad very comfortable and made us feel welcomed and I would like to thank the Candlewood team for everything they done for us.
