I would highly recommend this care home for giving exemplary care for our father's final few months. The support we received at this difficult time was first class.
Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendation. We're grateful for the opportunity to support your father and your family during such a sensitive time. It means a lot to our team to know that our care makes a difference.
From visiting Candlewood Care Home I can understand that all the residents are well looked after by the carers and staff who run the home. Everybody is happy. Everything is excellent in the care home.
Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to post a review. We're so pleased to hear that you feel the residents are well cared for and happy.
The manager and her very capable team did right by our father and in the process made a big difference to the quality of the last phase of his life. Their care interventions and consideration certainly lengthened his time by several months - this sometimes involved late night and early morning calls and at one point a member of staff even came in from home to hold his hand and reassure him. The team formed relationships with him that went beyond what you might expect treating our, at times, demanding father, with respect, dignity and going out of their way to accommodate his requests. He was impressed by and liked the individuals that cared for him. Being able to have his books and pictures round him helped make the room his own. How they do this with such compassion and humor day in, day out is quite something.
It was truly an honor to have your dad stay at Candlewood. Our team was grateful for the opportunity to comfort and support him during his time with us-he was a truly fascinating man. It has been a genuine pleasure getting to know you and your family.
My friend has cancer of the oesophagus and after 2 stints in hospital he was too weak to go home. He was referred to Candlewood House. It was perfect, lots of room in general including his own room, very easy access, friendly and at meal times it always smelled delicious. There is always a choice of hot and cold drinks and snacks for family and guests too. Due to how weak he was, my friend never took part in any of the available activities. The cancer spread too fast taking him from us too soon. As someone who worked in a home before, Candlewood House is the perfect place. I'd be happy to visit my own family here if it came to that.
Thank you for your kind words and heartfelt review. We're deeply sorry for your loss and grateful that we could provide comfort during a difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.
All at the care home could not have done more for my brother at the end of his life. They all went above and beyond to make him feel at home and comfortable, and to treat him with compassion and respect. They also provided great support to me as his relative, and to his other visiting friends. I highly recommend this care home, not only for its staff, but also for its facilities (including a cinema room, private and communal dining areas, and daily activities for residents who wish to participate in them). Residents are treated as people who matter, with honesty, and cared for in a safe, well-maintained and friendly environment.
Thank you for your kind words, it was our pleasure to get to know your brother, family and friends. We were honored to support him during such difficult time.
Very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Care, thorough attentive and kind. There is a feeling of safety, always people to help and protect. A happy environment.
Thank you for your kind words! Your feedback means a lot to us! We're so glad you feel welcomed and supported at Candlewood House.
The manager especially was so kind and thoughtful and made a very difficult time much, much easier to bear.
I highly recommend Candlewood House, as a family member and as a former nurse myself.
10 out of 10 and much gratitude from our family.
Thank you for the wonderful and thoughtful review. It is reassuring to know your experience was so positive at a difficult time. The team strive to provide high level of care with truth, love and compassion.
My father's Alzheimer's was quite advanced when he went to Candlewood House for respite care and he never really settled but this was not the fault of the staff, who made every effort to help. Carers were all kind, gentle, friendly and respectful. The food was of a high standard and the place is clean, warm and attractively furnished and decorated. Perhaps more effort could be made to alleviate boredom in the dementia patients and to cater for individual tastes - my father will happily listen to the radio for hours, but I believe he never heard one note of classical music there, only Muzak most mealtimes.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are pleased that your overall experience was so positive and found your father to be well care for and the food to be of high standard. The feedback relating to activities is valued and we will work to improve this.
From the moment we called to arrange a tour, we were pleasantly surprised at the open door policy the care home had. We arranged a visit quickly and from the moment we arrived, we knew this was the place for our mum.
Mum was invited for lunch and we went along while she had the tour and also had lunch which was lovely. An assessment was done the same day amazingly and within the week our mum had moved in.
Mum has never been open to the idea of residential care until visiting Candlewood House and seeing the level of care and attention to detail provided. The care home manager is truly wonderful and genuinely caring and mum has taken to her straight away. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and the welcome Mum got on her arrival was outstanding.
So far so good and as far as we are concerned, this is the best decision we could have made!
Thank you for taking the time to post a wonderful review. Your mum is a pleasure to have around, we are delighted that the moving in and settling experience for her and the family has been seamless and so positive.
Never knew Candlewood existed until my friend, for whom I am next of kin, was taken there. The best place she could have been prior to her passing. They were patient, kind, reassuring and understandable. They treat others with dignity and kept us up to day every step of the way. I am happy to recommend Candlewood for others including my own family.
Thank you for your kind words. We're honoured to have supported you and your friend during a difficult time and appreciate your recommendation. We're here for you and your family whenever needed.
When one enters the house there is such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are utterly helpful and ready for multitasking. The food choice is very good. Decorating is tasteful and comfortable. Lovely activities are offered. You can always ask for support.
Thank you for your kind words! Your feedback inspires us to keep delivering the best care!
The whole experience was very good and I'm quite impressed by the staff. Their interaction and attention to the residents was exemplary. The fact that there was free pampering for visitors and residents was nothing like I have experienced. I would recommend this care home to anyone who asks.
Thank you for your kind review. We are delighted you had a lovely experience at Candlewood House and enjoyed our pamper and prosecco event.
It's a good place. People who are working there were pleasant and attentive.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Creating a warm and welcoming environment is our top priority and it's wonderful to know we met your expectations.
Many thanks for the excellent birthday party you prepared for my family member. We were feeling at home, really great attention from all members of Candlewood. Food was excellent.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're happy to hear that you and your family felt at home during the birthday celebration. Our team takes pride in making each event special and we look forward to welcoming you back for more celebrations in the future!
Everything is of a high quality. It's all so luxurious, which is very rare to see.
The care my friend receives is very much bespoke. The staff are caring, kind and knowledgeable. I saw no safeguarding concerns. 3 words. Above and beyond.
I have every faith that my friend is being well looked after.
The small gathering for the birthday celebrations were more on the lines of restaurant dining. Everything was personalised to the guests, and the chef did a lovely job with the cake.
With my experience working in the sector for 5 years, I know what the red flags are to look for. I haven't seen anything concerning. I would recommend this home to everyone!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review! We're truly honored and your words mean a great deal, especially coming from someone with experience in the care sector. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and please know that your friend is indeed in caring and dedicated hands!
I have recently spent two weeks in Candlewood House recovering from a hernia operation. I am 81 years old female. It has been a truly lovely, positive experience. All the staff were caring, attentive to the many needs, creating a safe warm environment. All public places and bedrooms are beautifully and comfortably decorated and spacious. I highly recommend it for both long and short term residents. Would go back any time should the need arise.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We're delighted to hear that your stay at Candlewood House provided you with comfort and care during your recovery. Your feedback truly means a lot to us!
We have been treated so well by all the staff here. Nothing is too much trouble. Every one of the staff are very capable and caring and treat us with the utmost respect. A very high standard of facilities and cleanliness throughout. Cannot fault it.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that you've had such a positive experience with our team at Candlewood House!
Having experienced a previous care home, I must say Candlewood House made a huge impression on me. Our friend was a resident here, he received the best possible care. He experienced friendly and caring staff, clean pleasant surroundings. He felt safe and well cared for, and was treated with the most utmost dignity. Food was excellent. I highly recommend Candlewood for anyone requiring the best possible experience for a loved one.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review! We're truly honored that Candlewood House made such a positive impression on you and your friend. Your recommendation means a lot to us and we deeply appreciate your kind words.
Candlewood is beyond perfect! The home is home for everyone, the service is impeccable the staff are family! Extremely caring and pay attention to the residents. The love and care for all the residents I wish I could live here myself!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're honored to be considered a place where you'd want to live yourself. It's our goal to ensure that every resident feels loved, valued and cared for!
My experience of Candlewood House has been very good. My aunt was very unwell when she arrived and was sadly only Candlewood House for a very short time. The staff were lovely, caring and respectful and made sure she was comfortable as possible. The staff took very good care of myself and my family when my aunt sadly passed away. I was sad that she wasn't able to enjoy all the fabulous facilities and food and would recommend this home to others.
Thank you for your kind words. We're sorry for your loss and are glad we could provide comfort to your aunt and support to your family during this difficult time. It means a lot to know our team's care made a difference and we appreciate your recommendation.
