In the short time my dad stayed at Candlewood House Care Home, he was very happy, comfortable and felt cared for. Despite being bed-bound, staff made sure to keep my dad company by talking with home and music. As a family, we felt very fortunate that our dad was cared for in Candlewood. He was fed often with a wide range of foods and snacks and we were always offered a drink/snacks too. After my dad passed, both my sister and I felt warmed by the support given and the compassion too. Thank you so much.

Candlewood House is an outstanding care home with a very positive atmosphere. All the staff go above and beyond to make their residents, family and friends feel really welcome, reassured and provide the best care and support to all. The carers and nurses are all highly professional and capable, along with being kind, friendly, compassionate and patient. Noting is too much trouble. Their expertise in feeding the delicious and beautifully prepared food has enabled my relative to put on some weight and regain some strength. Also, the painful bedsores she acquired in the hospital have soon been healed. As a visitor, it is lovely to be made welcome by the staff and to witness the way they all work as a team. There is every opportunity to discuss my relative's care in both personal and nursing and to feel her progress is a genuine concern. I'm particularly impressed by the attention to detail displayed at Candlewood, including such things as atmosphere, floral arrangements and individual approach.
There is also an excellent range of activities and treatments available. As a family, we consider we've made the right choice with Candlewood, this gives us peace of mind.

Candlewood House Care Home is amongst the best we have seen.
As it is still a new home there are still a few teething problems with staff turnover. The established staff are excellent.
The biggest negative is the lack of a visiting GP.
The home itself is lovely, it's bright and cheerful, and a pleasure to come to as a guest. It's not inexpensive to stay here but I suppose it's the old adage of 'you pay for what you get', and for us, as a family, this is money well spent. Definitely recommended.

We feel so lucky to have found this amazing place for my mum. Part hospitality, part nursing, it has an amazing holistic outlook which is in keeping with everything we wanted for her - and the approach of the kind, caring staff have made a difficult transition in life as easy as it could be for her and us. An excellent care home operating at an exceptionally high standard in all respects. The home is beautifully decorated, the rooms having a degree of individualism and made to feel very "homey". There is a friendly atmosphere throughout, the staff are caring and 'alert' to the needs of individual residents. I would particularly like to mention that the quality of nursing care is of a very high standard: so often this aspect of care is not visible and yet is so important in the care of vulnerable residents.

A friend was at Candlewood for 4 weeks' respite stay. I was very impressed with the staff, who all seemed caring and proactive and not burnt out. There were only a few residents living there since the care home is new and people are waiting for more normal times to move in, so I did not see it in full swing. However, the staff gave my friend a lot of attention, and she seemed cleaner and brighter while she was there. Staff made sure she had plenty to do: drawing, games, films, gardening. I thought it was an excellent care home.

Experienced Home Manager
Nishma qualified as a solicitor and practiced family law before taking a career break to live overseas and raise a family. She initially joined TLC in support office and transitioned to the Business Development Team at Candlewood in October 2024.

My career began in Dubai, where I worked across several luxury properties as a Guest Experience and Guest Relations Manager, building a strong foundation in service excellence and personalised care. Two years ago, I moved to the UK and joined TLC Care as a Hotel Services Manager, first at Cooperscroft and now at Candlewood House. With 10 years of service experience. I am dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment where every resident feels valued. I believe that care is more than a responsibility - it is service from the heart delivered with dignity, compassion, and genuine human connection.
Kobe is a calm, creative, and forward-thinking individual with a strong background in well-being and engagement within the NHS. Before joining TLC Care as a Wellbeing Lead, he worked across an NHS trust, developing his expertise in supporting individuals and teams. With a solid foundation in sports and psychology, Kobe also brings international experience from playing football in the United States and Belgium.
He is passionate about wellbeing and takes a person-centred, psychologically informed approach. His understanding of the various factors that influence an individual's well-being allows him to adopt a truly holistic perspective in his work.
Mariella joined Candlewood in 2021, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her previous roles at the BBC, interior design and events coordinator for weddings and conferences.
