Exceptional care home with exceptional staff who actually listen to all of your needs. Upon arrival parking is simple and from the front door, you are greeted with warmth and kindness whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism. The care home manager has incredibly high standards and works hard to maintain these whilst offering a home-from-home environment. A variety of activities including exercise, yoga and physiotherapy is offered at this care home and a bespoke care package is devised for each resident. If you are looking for a warm, safe, kind caring 'home from home' for yourself or your loved one, this is the place to go.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. Your kind words inspire Team Candlewood to go above and beyond for each individual resident, to maintain these high standards for our residents and local community.
My recent experience with Candlewood House was exceptional. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism from the management. The facility itself is impeccably maintained with a comfortable and homely atmosphere. For me, what truly sets Candlewood House apart is the compassionate and highly trained staff. That always goes above and beyond providing personalised care. They always take their time to understand the unique needs of each resident, creating a safe environment and sense of belonging. I wholeheartedly recommend Candlewood House to anyone seeking a nurturing and high-quality care environment for their loved ones.
Thanks again for your support!
I cried when my sister and I were shown around Candlewood House care home. It sets the standard, it's like a hotel, the decor, rooms, bathrooms etc and how clean. Never thought care homes like this existed. The manager is an asset who truly cares about all the residents as does her team. It's beautiful to witness, I know it's their job but it's more than that, it's a sense of being family. The care team and TLC team are amazing. Activities that take place have been brilliant, they are kind, helpful and they also check on us to to. This care home is everything in our mum's time of need and support. Thank you.
Thank you!
If there was anything good that could have happened in the horrible situation that my brother found himself in, it was being sent to this nursing home for treatment. I have only words of praise for the staff and especially the manager, who is leading it absolutely gorgeously. Thank you for providing my brother with the opportunity to spend his last days as a dignified person.
We are deeply touched by your heartfelt words and honoured to have been entrusted with your brother's care during such a challenging time. It means the world to us to hear that we could make a positive difference in his final days. Providing dignified and compassionate care is at the core of...
Everything about my experience, from start to finish, was excellent.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your thoughtful review. Your feedback resonates deeply with Team Candlewood. Our unwavering commitment to providing the utmost care for our residents is fuelled by your kind words. From everyone in Candlewood family, we wish you all the best.
My husband went into Candlewood with terminal stage 4 cancer. The nurses were wonderful and really cared for him. Unfortunately, the care home manager undid all the great work the nurses did. My husband didn't want anyone seeing how ill and frail he looked and it was just myself and my son and his partner visiting him. A few days before he died, I walked into his bedroom and found the manager wearing a Santa's hat and an assistant with a camera, the manager was trying to give my husband a Christmas present whilst taking photo's. My husband was waving his hands saying, No photos, No photos. A few days before my husband died, my son and his husband stayed with him for 3 whole days. The night he died my son didn't want to leave him and two nurses offered my son and his husband the use of the lounge to be close by. When the manager found out they were using the lounge he told my son, he couldn't use the lounge. My son booked a local hotel and my husband died all alone. Not LGBTQ+ friendly.
Thank you for your review. We extend our sincere condolences following the passing of your husband. Furthermore, we would like to reassure you that our home does not tolerate any form of discrimination. In line with our negative feedback policy should you wish to submit a complaint then please email us on info@tlcgroup.co.uk
The quality of life you could give to your loved one is priceless! Candlewood House Care Home is truly an exceptional home that brings profound professional care to its own fragile residents. The staff are not only knowledgeable, professional and truly caring humans but also very humble with open hearts that make you feel important. Feel so blessed to find this amazing care home for our dad.
We are so very thankful for your wonderful words of kindness to our home and to our team. We are so grateful. We really do take on our residents and their families as our very own extended families! Thank you for choosing us.
I live in North America and was desperately looking for a suitable care home for my father who lived in London. When I came across Candlewood House on the internet, checked its website and ratings and had a virtual tour with the business development manager, I thought that was too good to be true and I was sceptical. However, the moment I walked into the care home, interacted with staff and saw everything with my own eyes, I was convinced that I had found the perfect place for my father and moved him immediately. This care home provides amazing and customised care to all its residents! Thank you.
Thank you so very much for your lovely review. We are so thankful you chose our beautiful home. We absolutely love having your father here with us. We very much look forward to seeing you again when you are next in the UK but in the meantime, we will continue to voice note and video call you with updates.
This is an excellent care home facility. Its staff and management are brilliant, caring and professional. The nursing and care staff made my short stay stress-free and their kindness and attention need special mention. The detail and layout of the home are well thought out and high quality. My sincere thanks to all at Candlewood House Care Home for looking after me so well and I wish it every success in the future.
Thank you so very much for your kind words. We are so pleased you chose us and to see you thrive in our care was wonderful.
We are extremely happy with the home and facilities available to my aunt. We find our visits a pleasure. My aunt always seems happy.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of our home. It is much appreciated.
My husband and I had a terrible experience at this care home from the management resulting in not being at my father in laws bedside when he was passing. Not LGBTQ+ friendly. This place is one to avoid.
Our sincere condolences go out to you following the passing of your father-in-law.
Further to our communication with the family, we want to reassure you that our home does not tolerate any form of discrimination. We are continuing to communicate with the family.
My dad spent the last three months of his life at this care home. He had stage 4 terminal cancer. The last 3 days of my dad's life I stayed with him. The manager wouldn't let me use the family room at Candlewood even though 3 nurses said I could. I ended up missing my dad's death when I booked a local hotel to get some sleep. I'm a married gay man and I had my husband with me supporting me, I believe the manager refused to allow me and my partner to stay in the family room because we were a gay couple. The nurse from the local hospice who was assisting the care home with my dad's care told me, could not believe the home wouldn't allow us to stay and she thought the same reason, because we were gay: My dad ended up dying alone.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.
Please accept our sincere condolences for the loss of your father.

Staff are all very caring and interactive with the residents as well as visitors. The quality of the rooms is excellent with brilliant facilities to best support my friend, including a specially adapted chair and bed. I just observed the resident being moved to an upright positing and she was treated with dignity and respect.
Thank you for your kind review. We always want to ensure that all our residents and their loved ones feel at home therefore I am delighted to hear that my team is giving the best possible care to our residents in our beautiful environment.
There are high standards of cleanliness and the home is beautifully furnished, looking much more like a family hotel than a care home. It wasn't always easy to find food that suited him in the brief period while he could still eat. But the staff went out of their way to try to find him something. At the end, they showed me great compassion too and have stayed in touch since. I have felt very well supported by them.
I would recommend Candlewood House to anyone needing a care home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to look after your husband, a very kind and loving man. He will forever be in our thoughts and prayers and as always you are welcome to come in for a cup of tea and cake.
Nice, clean environment with caring staff and a welcoming management. Rooms are well-appointed and the communal areas are smartly furnished.
Thank you for your kind review. We always want to ensure that all our residents and their loved ones feel at home therefore I am delighted to hear that my team and I were able to exceed your expectations.
Clean and welcoming. Rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished with generous en-suite bathrooms. Attention is paid to individual needs. New building.
Thank you for your lovely review and feedback. The housekeeping team always strives to provide our residents with high quality cleanliness to help us achieve our overall outstanding care.
The staff and facilities are really excellent and everyone is very attentive to people's needs.
Thank you for your lovely review. I am pleased to hear about your recent experience at our home and how the team have been able to provide person-centred care to your loved one.
My aunt received very good care. The staff are very supportive to my aunt and her family. The whole team have been wonderful. We know our aunt was safe in there. Excellent care.
Thank you for your amazing review! Our team members are dedicated to providing outstanding care to all our residents and their loved ones!
I would highly recommend Candlewood House Care Home. Their level of care and attention is outstanding, my father has been welcomed and treated wonderfully since moving in.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We love having Dad around and are glad to hear that he has settled in really well.
Best wishes, Monika
Wonderful staff who go above and beyond in their provision of care. Facilities are beautiful and look more like a hotel than a care home.
Thank you for your wonderful review! It gives us all so much pleasure to hear about your experience and how you are delighted with the person centered care that we provide at the home.
