My husband and I had a terrible experience at this care home from the management resulting in not being at my father in laws bedside when he was passing. Not LGBTQ+ friendly. This place is one to avoid.

My dad spent the last three months of his life at this care home. He had stage 4 terminal cancer. The last 3 days of my dad's life I stayed with him. The manager wouldn't let me use the family room at Candlewood even though 3 nurses said I could. I ended up missing my dad's death when I booked a local
hotel to get some sleep. I'm a married gay man and I had my husband with me supporting me, I believe the manager refused to allow me and my partner to stay in the family room because we were a gay couple. The nurse from the local hospice who was assisting the care home with my dad's care told me, could not believe the home wouldn't allow us to stay and she thought the same reason, because we were gay: My dad ended up dying alone.

Staff are all very caring and interactive with the residents as well as visitors. The quality of the rooms is excellent with brilliant facilities to best support my friend, including a specially adapted chair and bed. I just observed the resident being moved to an upright positing and she was treated
with dignity and respect.

Candlewood House Care Home provided wonderful care for my husband in his last weeks. All the staff were genuinely caring and he developed good relationships with several of them, even though he was only at the home for a short time. The facilities were just what he needed - a well-furnished room and
a wet room that was safe for him. He was even encouraged to take part in a group exercise class early on.
There are high standards of cleanliness and the home is beautifully furnished, looking much more like a family hotel than a care home. It wasn't always easy to find food that suited him in the brief period while he could still eat. But the staff went out of their way to try to find him something. At the end, they showed me great compassion too and have stayed in touch since. I have felt very well supported by them.
I would recommend Candlewood House to anyone needing a care home.

In the short time my dad stayed at Candlewood House Care Home, he was very happy, comfortable and felt cared for. Despite being bed-bound, staff made sure to keep my dad company by talking with home and music. As a family, we felt very fortunate that our dad was cared for in Candlewood. He was fed often
with a wide range of foods and snacks and we were always offered a drink/snacks too. After my dad passed, both my sister and I felt warmed by the support given and the compassion too. Thank you so much.

Candlewood House is an outstanding care home with a very positive atmosphere. All the staff go above and beyond to make their residents, family and friends feel really welcome, reassured and provide the best care and support to all. I find the staff to be extremely kind, supportive and very caring. My husband has been treated with the utmost respect. Candlewood House Care Home is, in my opinion, a very clean and state-of-the-art nursing home. A very nurturing environment and I feel he is in very safe hands.

Lovely place - so comfortable and creatively styled. The staff were so kind and welcoming. My aunt is very well cared for. Lots of lovely rooms to sit in. Everyone is so friendly.

Everyone at Candlewood treats my elderly relative with supreme care and respect, she is bedbound and totally dependent on others to care for her.
The carers and nurses are all highly professional and capable, along with being kind, friendly, compassionate and patient. Noting is too much trouble. Their
expertise in feeding the delicious and beautifully prepared food has enabled my relative to put on some weight and regain some strength. Also, the painful bedsores she acquired in the hospital have soon been healed. As a visitor, it is lovely to be made welcome by the staff and to witness the way they all work as a team. There is every opportunity to discuss my relative's care in both personal and nursing and to feel her progress is a genuine concern. I'm particularly impressed by the attention to detail displayed at Candlewood, including such things as atmosphere, floral arrangements and individual approach.
There is also an excellent range of activities and treatments available. As a family, we consider we've made the right choice with Candlewood, this gives us peace of mind.

We moved my auntie from an unsatisfactory home.
Candlewood House Care Home is amongst the best we have seen.
As it is still a new home there are still a few teething problems with staff turnover. The established staff are excellent.
The biggest negative is the lack of a visiting GP.

We spent some time trying to find the best place for our 90-year-old aunt to be moved to once discharged from hospital and we could not have found better care for her than at Candlewood House Care Home. The staff are delightful, they have patiently listened to our concerns and needs and, most importantly,
the quality of the care they have given has been excellent. On the first day of settling my aunt in, I left reassured that we had done everything we could to help my aunt and relieved that she was now in very good hands.
The home itself is lovely, it's bright and cheerful, and a pleasure to come to as a guest. It's not inexpensive to stay here but I suppose it's the old adage of 'you pay for what you get', and for us, as a family, this is money well spent. Definitely recommended.

We feel so lucky to have found this amazing place for my mum. Part hospitality, part nursing, it has an amazing holistic outlook which is in keeping with everything we wanted for her - and the approach of the kind, caring staff have made a difficult transition in life as easy as it could be for her
and us. It has given her and our family a new lease of life knowing how well she is looked after.

Deepak has been a valuable member of the TLC team for five years, starting his journey as a registered nurse and now serving as the Care Services Manager at Candlewood.


Before joining TLC, he accumulated six years of intensive experience working in a cardiac ICU, bringing a wealth of knowledge and specialized care to our community.


Deepak is known for his kind and warm demeanour, making him a favourite among our residents. His dedication to providing exceptional care is evident in his daily interactions and the strong relationships he builds with those he serves.


Outside of his professional life, Deepak is an avid cyclist and enjoys travelling and hiking. His love for adventure and the outdoors reflects his energetic and enthusiastic approach to life and work.

Nishma qualified as a solicitor and practiced family law before taking a career break to live overseas and raise a family. She initially joined TLC in support office and transitioned to the Business Development Team at Candlewood in October 2024.

Namita has worked for many years in visas and immigration diplomatic missions in London and wanted to make a meaningful change. Moving into the care industry felt like the right step to take a new and exciting challenge, and I am looking forward to growing in this role and making a difference in the lives of those we care for.

Kobe is a calm, creative, and forward-thinking individual with a strong background in well-being and engagement within the NHS. Before joining TLC Care as a Wellbeing Lead, he worked across an NHS trust, developing his expertise in supporting individuals and teams. With a solid foundation in sports and psychology, Kobe also brings international experience from playing football in the United States and Belgium.


He is passionate about wellbeing and takes a person-centred, psychologically informed approach. His understanding of the various factors that influence an individual's well-being allows him to adopt a truly holistic perspective in his work.
