She has dementia and spent the first year on the top floor before her dementia deteriorated and was moved to more specialist care on the middle floor. The staff at St Laura's are so caring, fun and respectful of my mum's wishes. Her LPA is adhered to and they communicate with me really well. Mum is safe, and well cared for. St Laura's staff create a kind and friendly atmosphere and do activities with mum that are appropriate to her needs. Eme the manager is very approachable and is a great advocate for mum and staff. I'm so glad mum is living here. Although it is sad to see my mum living with advanced dementia, St Laura's is the best place for mum to be.

Overall, St Laura's combines excellent professional support with a warm community spirit, making it a wonderful place for my mother
The staff at St Lauras have been very welcoming for my mums respite stay. Indeed they have gone out of their way to make her feel comfortable. and settled. The activities provided on a daily basis are varied and to a high standard. There are many nice personal touches. For example, they helped my mum celebrate her birthday during her stay by baking a cake and giving her some flowers. Visits to the local high street for some light shopping and coffee have also been arranged - which provides a change of scene and fresh stimulation. The hygiene and cleanliness standards are very high at St Lauras. A special mention must go to members of staff and of course none of the above would be possible without the leadership from St Lauras Manager.
From the first moment I contacted St .Laura's, my family and I have received first class personal service and communication from the Manager. The manager has gone over and above to ensure the placement of this resident and their approach to his care has been entirely based around his particular needs, personality, likes and dislikes. Staff are available to discuss any issues and his placement there is going very well. Understanding the need for different approaches to different individuals is first and foremost.
Sr Laura's has been such a breath of fresh air for our Mum, the atmosphere is positive and kind. Every single member of staff is welcoming and warm. There always seems to be a smile and activities happening. The place is so well managed by the manager and standards are very high regarding cleanliness and systems . Mums support has been so wonderful. Carer and her team have made sure she has felt safe and welcomed not to mention trying so hard to improve her quality of life. There are so many thoughtful touches to the place . Mum feels really settled.
My husband stayed for nine days (respite care). It was his second visit and he was warmly welcomed by the manager and two carers. His room was spotlessly clean and when I collected him, all his clothes were freshly laundered. All the residents look happy and content and trips out are regularly arranged. They seem to be kept busy but the atmosphere is relaxed. When I collected him, he didn't seem to want to come home!
The care and support offered to Mum at St Laura's has been fantastic. She feels safe and happy. The home has an amazing friendly feeling and from my perspective, as a nervous daughter moving mum into care, everyone I interact with is responsive and genuinely caring. My daughter (11) also feels comfortable and welcome. Mum's transition into care was from overseas, my parents were living in Spain and Dad passed away suddenly. The team at St Laura's were brilliant supporting our transition. With mum moving to respite care as soon as we returned to the UK. This has been a difficult time as a family, but mum is safe, happy and content. She is involved in activities and has made some lovely connections, particularly with her key worker. After 10 weeks respite care Mum is now a permanent resident, her words the other day were "It's so nice here, they're so friendly and happy. I'm not always sure why I'm here But I feel safe" I thoroughly recommend St Laura's and the whole team.
St Laura's have been looking after our mother for the last year and the care she has received has been exemplary. The staff, without exception, have treated her with affection and dignity. Unfortunately she now only has days to live but everything is being done to make her as comfortable as possible in her final hours. We really are so appreciative of of all the staff at St Laura's and would not hesitate to highly recommend the care home.
St Lauras have been taking care of my father for the last 3 weeks. The manager and all the staff have taken time to get to know him and to understand what is important to him. The carers take time to talk with Dad and have helped him to settle in. It is still early days but we feel sure that we have made the right decision in choosing St Lauras. Thank you to the manager and all of the team for everything. We really appreciate all of your support.
We arrived on a Sat for my husband to have a week's stay at St Lauras. First was a card welcoming him back, then various members of staff popped in to say hello. One had started working there in Feb during my husband's previous stay and made a special visit to his room to say hi and welcome. Colin thoroughly enjoyed all his meals at St Laura's. The room was comfortable and the staff attention couldn't be faulted. He enjoyed the showers there and was even given a good close shave, 1st for some time! Only minus was that he didn't find the bed very comfortable. He thoroughly enjoyed the VE Celebrations, which were very good apparently. Thank you everyone for making him so welcome and allowing me to enjoy my annual County Bowls tour, knowing he's so well cared for.
After 3.5 years at St Laura's, Mum passed away peacefully with Dad holding her hand. We chose St Laura's because it was important for our parents to be together and we got a very good feeling about the home. Our instincts were right and Mum and Dad have enjoyed a quality of life that has has a positive impact on the. Over the course of time we have got to know the staff really well and some of the residents. There is a high quality of love and care demonstrated and there is a varied activity program. We were particularly impressed with Mum's end of life care and support to the family at the service. We are now an extended family. Dad is 96 now and is being supported to adjust to life on his own, with memories of his 70th wedding anniversary, celebrated in the beautiful garden on Rose floor.
My Mum went to st Laura's in December, she is very well cared for and there is definitely a family feel to the home. All the staff have been so supportive, especially management. The transition has been an emotional roller coaster for me, but Mum hasn't been aware of any of this. I feel happy and relaxed that she is in a lovely homely place and a her needs are very well supported. A big thank you to management, staff and all the carers there that makes Mums day special everyday. Thank you all so much.
The manager and the staff have been excellent in dealing with my uncle's complex and demanding issues. I couldn't believe that they could have managed such a complex and demanding situation with such care and ease. My uncle is always happy and comfortable and has great affection for all those who look after him as we have as we have for the staff that come day and night.
We are incredibly pleased with our decision to choose St Lauras Care Home for my father-in-law. From the moment we arrived a few months ago, we were met with warmth and professionalism from the manager and all the staff, who have consistently demonstrated kindness and genuine care. The team at St Lauras go above and beyond to provide outstanding care, ensuring that every resident's needs are met with compassion and attentiveness. The environment at St Lauras is both welcoming and comforting, and it's clear that the manager and staff take great pride in maintaining a high standard of care. My father-in-law has been thriving under their care and we feel completely at ease knowing he is in such capable hands. Choosing St Lauras was absolutely the right decision and we are beyond grateful for the positive experience we've had here. The dedication and expertise of the manager and all the staff truly set this care home apart.
My father moved into St Lauras almost three months ago. The care he has received since his arrival at the home has been second to none. The manager and all of her staff are kind, caring and very considerate. They look after my father (and indeed all of the residents) as if they are one of their own family members. Moving him into a care home was difficult, but I am one hundred per cent sure we made the right choice by choosing St Lauras. We know he is in safe hands under the care of the manager and the gang at St Lauras. Thank you all for everything that you do.
My father was always reluctant to discuss long-term care despite health crises from time to time. This month, aged nearly 98, he reached a point of deciding that he needed to move into a care home. We looked at 5 homes and were pleased that St Lauras had a vacancy as this was our first choice. Dad has settled very well indeed and we are delighted with all aspects of the home. In particular, I would commend the cheerful, encouraging manner of the manager and staff who have just the right mix of professionalism and personal, caring interest in the residents and their families.
So pleased with the care received by my family member. All the staff are warm, friendly and genuinely care. Nothing is too much trouble for them in helping my family member to settle. There are activities which people are encouraged to engage in as they choose. Food choices are catered to and would highly recommend this home.
My 89-year-old mother moved to St Laura's from another care home in June 2024. The manager and staff have gone above and beyond to help her settle in. The manager is very kind and she has not only been efficient, but she has also shown and leads the team who follow her example by delivering resident-focused care. Mum is always treated with dignity and kindness and all of her care needs are monitored. The atmosphere from when we walk into reception is warm and welcoming and this continues throughout the home. The communication between the manager and her staff and us as a family is wonderful. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. The food is varied and healthy. We as a family have no hesitation in recommending St Lauras.
My father has been well cared for since moving into St Lauras 18 months ago. Staff are unfailingly friendly and caring and are experts in working with people with dementia. My dad enjoys the regular outings and activities and shows every sign of thriving, within the limitations of his dementia and frailty. My siblings and I have no regrets about choosing St Lauras for our father.
We have found the staff very approachable, kind, knowledgable and patient. The food is excellent and plentiful. The rooms are kept clean as are the public areas. Occasionally there is a smell of urine which is hard to keep on top of, we are aware laundry is efficient. We feel my mother is well looked after.
