View Full Details of Benson HouseKind, friendly staff who provide regular updates. Dad is enjoying his time at Benson House and loves the food and the broad range of activities. He hasn't stopped talking about the boat trip that I was able to join him on.
My brother-in-law is being well looked after and is happy at Benson House. Since he has been there he has become more sociable and happily speaks to and relates to other residents. Staff are friendly and helpful. He enjoys sitting and walking in the garden. He enjoys the meals. Medical help has been appreciated. Although his stay will be temporary the experience has given him more confidence to live a more independent life.
This is a wonderful home and on behalf of my family we are all very happy with the aesthetics, the warmth & friendliness of the staff, the care they deliver and the peace of mind we have been given since mum moved in here. The activities are varied & from what I have seen & experienced are enjoyable. So, Thank you!
Dad's care was simply excellent with great kindness shown to him throughout his time at Benson House. We will always be grateful for the wonderful care Dad received in his last few months and would recommend Benson House to anyone.
Benson House has been Dad's home for just over two years. He's well looked after by the staff who are so caring and very patient. We know if there's any problem they'll get in touch with us straight away.
My father has been a resident of Benson House since January when I moved him from a different care home in Oxford. I could not be happier with the level of care provided by the team. He has been bed-bound for months and is cleaned/changed 3 times per day which means he is always clean and happy when I visit him. His room always smells pleasant (unlike the last home he was in) and the surroundings are really lovely. The team at Benson House and the care they provide is outstanding. I always receive a warm welcome and they truly seem to care about my father's wellbeing. The food is top-notch, the services bang up-to-date and the building itself is a home away from home. My father and I lucked out with Benson and I'm thankful that he's in very good hands.
Wonderful staff. Wonderful food. Great entertainment. Very caring place. Nothing is too much trouble.
My Dad was 94 when he was admitted to Benson House, and he spent just over two weeks there before he died. He only got to use a small proportion of the facilities available, as he was not well enough to engage with most of them. We did take him into the gardens in a wheelchair, and that was very pleasant and tranquil. Although he wasn't able to test many of the things available, he did make use of the best of the feature of Benson House - the care. There were lots of staff available at all hours of day an night, and they were always cheerful. It was a great blessing to us to know that he was receiving great care, care that could not have been replicated at home.
Once again a wonderful service from this excellent care home.i was able to go away for a restbite period knowing my wife was in good hands.my wife is very happy when she is in benson house and loves the food and staff and overall good experience.she is looking forward to her next visit
If you're looking for a warm, safe, and loving environment for someone you care about, look no further. Benson House isn't just a care home-they become family. I can't thank them enough for what they did for Nana and for us. The staff at Benson House were exceptional. They always had time for us , offering a shoulder to cry on, a comforting hug, or a laugh when we needed it. They genuinely cared about not just Nana, but us as her family. That compassion made all the difference. There were many staff members who went above and beyond for us during an incredibly difficult time. After Nana passed, we even held her wake at Benson House. The staff organised everything, chatted with us throughout the day. They were there when we needed love, comfort, and support the most. We'll never forget them and will always carry them in our hearts as part of our family for the rest of our lives xx
Everybody was so kind and caring and it had a lovely peaceful feel when I walked in. The nurses were very helpful and informative to me, about mums short stay. They supported me along the journey with mum and I am very grateful for all there help. A lovely care home a big Thank you X
My Dad came to Benson House for planned short term recovery but ended up staying for a number of months. We can not fault the staff who were incredibly accommodating of his dietary requirements. All staff were without fail always cheerful, willing to spend time with my Dad and do whatever it took to keep him happy. This was from all kinds of staff - the maintenance team, catering, nursing carers and the management and administration. We were so impressed. Whenever we had a query or concern, response was immediate. Benson House is a fantastic care home. They made my Dad' s last months as a comfortable as possible.
Benson House cared for my uncle for 3 years and at times he wasn't always grateful, but I know he was safe and had people around him instead of being home alone. I felt very supported by the staff and especially the carers who cared for Allan throughout his time at Benson House. They followed his wishes and when the time came for my uncle to leave this planet they gave him a dignified death and allowed him to be discharged from hospital and die with the people who he knows and cared for him. With me being overseas and him having no relatives their care and support after he died with paperwork was so helpful. I am so happy we found Benson House, my uncle was happy there. With my heartfelt thanks.
My mum came to Benson House for end-of-life care. All the staff have been excellent, very caring and approachable. The level of care has been tailored each day to my mum's needs. My mum's room is very comfortable and cleaned regularly with accessible bathroom and shower, TV and telephone. There is a weekly activity programme which is very good for interaction between residents. The meals are outstanding, with a good choice of options. The management is very approachable with any concerns and responded quickly to our questions.
Staff at Benson House were very helpful when we required care for my mother at short notice. Mum had an assessment at home within a few days and moved into the home the day after the assessment. Circumstances meant we extended mum's stay at short notice but this was never an issue for the home. We were very happy with the care and attention mum had from staff. Access to the nurses was easy and they always had time to talk and discuss mums progress showing a deep understanding of her needs. The nurses communicated well with mum's GP and hospital clinicians, adjusting medication as required. Unfortunately for mum an out break of covid meant that access to the activities was restricted but she still had chats with the other ladies at mealtimes It was reassuring to have audio in mums room as we were concerned for her, especially at night. Family were always made welcome when visiting. The home was very accommodating when mum continued to visit Benson Day Centre a couple of times a week
Really delighted with the kindness, care and careful attention to individual needs at Benson House. The activities and engagement (even with a reluctant joiner in!) are great and there is a lovely, unstressful atmosphere. Thank you.
The staff were caring, thoughtful and attentive throughout my father-in-law's stay. The management were responsive, listened to concerns and responded quickly to our questions. Very professional care throughout.
You want clothing articles named, I bought eight pairs of trousers for my husband in July/August 2024, three pairs of which I have never seen him wear or in his room, I know he is incontinent. His sports jacket was ruined when it had been washed, most of the shirts and many pairs of trousers now in his room are unnamed and not his. He has had a watch, two pairs of glasses and an electric razor and charger go missing. The glasses and watch had not been labelled. His file of photos and framed pictures seem to have disappeared. I am well aware that in the time my husband has been with you his behaviour has been diabolical and a fair bit of the time, very awkward, not his old self at all, fortunately he seems totally unaware of where he is and doesn't seem distressed about it.
My husband came into Benson House to provide respite care for myself and my family after almost a year of being cared for at home, which had become increasingly stressful for all concerned. All the staff at Benson were friendly, welcoming and accommodating in providing excellent care for my husband and support for each member of the family. We were able to visit at any time, day or night, and were always made to feel that no query was too much for the kind and caring staff. We all found Benson House to be a lovely environment to visit and spend time in, it is clearly well-maintained and comfortable for residents and visitors. The atmosphere was calm and caring upon every visit.
My dad spent his final week at Benson House and we're so grateful for the kindness, care and compassion of the staff. Although he was only there for end-of-life care, the difference they made was immeasurable. Having Dad at Benson House instead of at home allowed us to focus on spending precious time with him, free from the stress of managing his care. The staff were professional yet warm, always going the extra mile to make Dad comfortable and treating him with dignity and respect. Their attentiveness and empathy extended to us as well, offering reassurance, support and a calm presence during such a difficult time. We felt so confident in how Dad was being looked after and the atmosphere of care and compassion they created meant the world to us. Benson House gave us peace of mind and dignity for Dad in his final days and we'll always be deeply thankful for the exceptional team.
