View Full Details of Richmond Manor Care HomeI cannot express enough my relief and gratitude to the the care team and staff at Richmond Manor. After 2 harrowing weeks I finally found somewhere mum can call home. Outstanding on every level, and peace of mind knowing mums been cared for in the manner she deserves at 99. Recommend 100%.
My husband who has Lewy Body Dementia stayed here for 3 weeks in August/September and I stayed for 2 weeks in September whilst recovering from a hip replacement operation. We were on separate floors but able to share some meals together. The staff were exceptionally patient with my husband dealing with his confusion and unwillingness to cooperate even with the most basic routines. So much so that he settled well after a period and became quite content For myself the 2 weeks convalescence was perfect. I was discharged after 2 days in hospital and it was the best thing for my recovery. The care I received was first class especially help with washing and showering, medication and the choice of meals to tempt my appetite and of course the adjustable bed. Coupled with regular walks around the gardens and daily activities it helped me to regain my strength. I couldn't have wished for better care and will certainly be using the home for respite in the future
Came for respite care (two weeks) and was made very welcome. The care was very kind and caring same as when my husband was here before he passed away.
A very caring and friendly atmosphere. The staff are fantastic and can't do enough to help you. Facilities are excellent: a film room, large and small lounges, an activity room and best of all, the coffee shop where residents can meet with each other and their visitors. There is a choice of menu at all meals, and if none suits you, you can order something else.
Our mother came to live at Richmond Manor at the end of 2024. We were made to feel very welcome right from the start, and the atmosphere is always very happy and friendly. The homemakers are very supportive and caring, and mums' personal care and needs are treated with care and understanding. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the homemakers.
The wonderful team at Richmond Manor saved my life! Seriously ill, I came from the hospital six months ago for 'End of Life Care'. Thanks to the dedicated care of lovely, friendly, and compassionate staff I have made a good recovery, now taking full care of myself and completely mobile. The care team are, without exception, a credit to Richmond Manor, their hard work and commitment creating such a happy and nurturing home. With their help I have been able to fulfil my wish to become well enough to go home, for which I am so grateful.
Dad recently had two weeks respite care at Richmond Manor. All the staff are so welcoming and helpful, the facilities are great and Dad's room was lovely and clean. Most importantly of all, the residents appeared to be happy and enjoying themselves. As Dad's only carer it's such a comfort to me to know that they are there to care so well for Dad when I need to have a break.
Our Mum lived at Richmond Manor for two years before she passed away at the age of 96. She had Alzheimer's, and when it was no longer safe for her to live at home, we were fortunate to find Richmond Manor. Mum was very happy there-always smiling, always high-fiving everyone. The carers and staff were friendly, and some, in particular, were truly exceptional. Her room was cosy and homely, always kept clean, and she was well looked after. The food was great, though in her final years, she mostly preferred biscuits! They made sure she always had plenty of these while still offering proper meals. It's a lovely environment. There was always a different space to take her such as quiet rooms, lovely garden or balcony. The café was especially sociable and welcoming. Overall, Richmond Manor provided excellent care. When Mum passed away, the staff were genuinely sad, and some even attended her funeral, which meant so much to us. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and dedication.
Mum has absolutely flourished since she arrived in December. Her family and friends all say she hasn't been or looked better or happier in the last 2 years. We are so grateful to Richmond Manor, the atmosphere, the staff, the food, the activities, the care, the decor - All are outstanding.
My experience of Richmond Manor and it's staff and carers was nothing but amazing, friendly and very helpful and caring. Richmond Manor is so clean, modern and somewhere I would certainly tell anybody wishing to need a place for a family member.
Excellent care from the team at Richmond Manor Care Home. Well organised but with a very human touch that came across with each interaction. Food specially prepared for individual needs. Room spotless and thankfully no noisy beeps going off.
My mother found it difficult to accept that she needed a care home! It took her over a year to do so! Whilst most of us would like to retain our independence for as long as we can, when it comes to choosing care for a loved one there are many factors to consider. We chose Richmond Manor Care Home for many reasons, the reasons we chose it remain true to this day. A truly well-led management team led by a very good leader, the care home manager. An organisation, in our experience, is as good as the person at the top. A generous kind kind-hearted authentic leader who takes her responsibilities professionally knowing that everyone in the home needs to be acknowledged and cared for including residents and all staff. This pervades throughout the atmosphere in the home and it is always a delight to visit my mother. The home is clean, modern and is always welcoming whenever we visit. We would wholeheartedly recommend anyone considering a care home to visit Richmond Manor Care Home, Ampthill.
I have to thank all of your team for being so very amazing, professional, caring, supportive and just so gentle in our hour of need. It may have only been a short time we were with you, but we will never forget your warmth and kindness to our family. You will all be remembered fondly by us all. Thank you on behalf of the resident's dear husband, he is very broken right now, but that evening you allowed him to stay with her, did him the power of good. Also, thank you for taking the time to go that extra mile and feed us all on a regular basis. Those little things helped so very much. Please pass our thanks to the night staff we did not meet, for caring for our relative through the night. In fact anyone behind the scenes we did not get to thank in person.
Richmond Manor Care Home has excellent and well-maintained facilities. Even more importantly, all the staff were all caring and kind in the support they gave to my stepmother in her final days. It was reassuring to us - and most of all to her - to see that she was in such safe, attentive and thoughtful hands.
My Aunt had a recent stay here and from the moment we walked in the front door we knew that this was something special. The facilities provided and the environment are faultless and so beautifully decorated. The individual rooms are so cosy and comfortable. My Aunt loved the food which was plentiful and 5*. The Management and all the staff we met were so friendly, and caring and genuinely had time for my Aunt and also us, nothing was too much trouble. This really is a top-quality care home, providing luxury standards that set Richmond apart from other care homes in the Bedfordshire area.
Mum was well looked after during her stay and the staff kept me well informed of any changes.
The cognitive status of residents has improved significantly. We found all the staff we met to be polite, cheerful and caring. Richmond Manor is a nice home and one I would not mind coming to when a few years have passed.
Richmond Manor provides excellent care for my brother, who has dementia. He has now been a resident for six months and is settling in very well indeed. The environment is warm, friendly and very comfortable, and nothing is too much trouble for the care team. The management team and their entire staff are lovely, kind, and supportive. There is always plenty of things to do, with daily activities being offered to all residents. My brother particularly likes the singing and music sessions where he has even been known to dance with other residents. In the interest of my brother's ongoing care, I would say that choosing Richmond Manor was completely the right decision. I can only thank and praise the hard-working staff for their continued support and commitment, and above all for the happiness I now see in my brother each time I visit.
Mum is known by name by the care team. They are helpful and kind and encourage her to take part in the activities going on. The meals are interesting and well balanced and a good portion size for Mum. She has been at Richmond Manor for 8 months and has settled in well. Her room is kept very clean as are all the common areas.
I visit my aunty in the home every week since she has been there. She is very happy and enjoys the daily activities and the company of the staff and other residents. This month she really enjoyed watching the chickens hatch and seeing and holding the chicks. She likes all the staff and is happy with all of the care provided.
