Our mother was a resident of Old Sarum Manor from February 2023 until May this year, when she passed away. She and we could not have been happier with Old Sarum. She felt completely safe and well cared for throughout and was treated with real affection and thought throughout, which obviously meant a great deal to us. The whole team were incredibly kind, professional and genuinely made her and our lives better. I'm not sure we could have hoped for more.
Our late mother lived at Old Sarum Manor for approximately six months leading up to her death in April 2025. Whilst she was tentative at first, she very quickly adjusted to life in the home, where all her needs were met, her health was closely monitored and she was kept safe & secure. In such a short time, we, as a family, came to know many of the members of staff, who were always attentive and professional. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and our mother found life so much more bearable, given some challenging health issues, because of that. Reflecting back, and despite our loss, we have nothing but positive memories of Old Sarum Manor and the level of care provided. We would recommend this care home, without hesitation - it truly is a 'home from home'!
All staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. Management are always on hand to give support and information. Residents are always treated with dignity. As well as caring for there residents they are always there to support the families. Room's are bright and modern. Communal areas are warm and welcoming. The food is very good with plenty of variety as are the drinks. There are plenty of activities to do if residents wish to join in.
My father recently turned 91 at the care home and my sister and myself were able to join my mother and father, along with our partners for a Sunday meal. The meal and the staff who waited on us were excellent. Many thanks to everyone who made it possible.
Soon visiting my dear friend during her stay at Old Sarum Manor, I was held back in shock by the look of the home and the welcome that I received from the staff. When entering the home it felt nothing like a care home more like a hotel! The staff seemed all happy and the atmosphere was so lifting. My friend seems to be very happy here and looking forward to the rest of her stay here. I stayed for lunch with her and the food tasted as good as it smelt. Can't find any fault from my visit. If I'm asked do I know of anywhere, I will not be thinking twice about recommending your beautiful home.
My mother spent 2 weeks at Old Sarum Manor for respite care, following a short stay in the hospital. From the start of her stay to the end of her stay, all of the staff were very attentive and compassionate to her needs. The room she had was lovely, looking out onto the gardens. The menu was extensive and well-cooked. As a family, we could not have a better experience. Thank you to all involved.
It was a great experience for my mother, she really enjoyed her stay here. Thanks for your hard work.
My mother originally came into the home for two weeks respite and stayed until she passed away on 1st February 2024. A couple of weeks prior to her falling so ill that she couldn't speak, she asked me if I was the one you put her into Old Sarum Manor, I replied 'Would I be in trouble if I had?' and she said 'No, I just wanted to thank you.' I think this says it all! I want to thank all the team for the love and care they gave to my mother and for supporting me and my sisters through those last few days. Thank you all.
Staff are friendly and helpful, both to visitors and residents. It is like going into a hotel, smart and clean, the food always reads well on the board you can see what is planned for the day/week.
Mother has been at Old Sarum Manor for two and a half years. Placing your relative in care is extremely harrowing but from the start Old Sarum Manor has been first class. The environment is beautiful and the staff are attentive, caring and above all are truly dedicated to the resident's needs. It's a lovely feeling to walk away and know that my Mum is in the best possible home. No hesitation in recommending it.
I wanted to write this review as my aunt has now been in Old Sarum Manor just over 3 months. We took time to consider all the care homes in Salisbury and were delighted to find such an amazing home. The team are so professional and supportive. One of the ladies gave us great confidence when she showed us around and we couldn’t believe how lovely it was. One of the staff members helped us understand what was on offer and made it clear that they were fully committed to ensuring all her needs would be met. From the first day she moved in her life changed for the positive, her health has improved so much due to the care and attention from the team. Two other staff members have been dedicated and have provided excellent feedback on her medication. The food is amazing and she is now eating properly and has so much fun with the staff and other residents. We want to thank all the team for the great service provided. A big thanks for giving our aunt her life back, a quote from our aunt is.“It’s like a five-star hotel”
I am one of the UK's most senior academic medical practitioners with 40 years of experience in senior leadership in the politics of NHS services and the practical delivery of care nationally and internationally. My beloved wife died in this him two years ago from vascular dementia. The compassion shown to her was beyond the call of duty. I have been here convalescing after fracturing my hip with super care and support. From my professional and personal knowledge of the care sector, I know that this home is one of the very best in the South West and across the UK. It deserves the highest rating and commendation for the quality of care it gives.
We are so grateful to all of you for the care you are giving Nana. She is happy, comfortable and has everything she could need. The staff have all been fantastic. The home is cheerful and immaculate, and the facilities are excellent. Thank you and God Bless you for all your work - God Bless those in your tender care.
Excellent atmosphere from the moment you go in. "Lots" of friendly, professional, happy reception staff, always management, ancillary staff and nurses passing through reception - excellent vibe. The staff know residents. When we pick my friend up, we go to her room. This initial welcome/atmosphere goes upstairs to all rooms, it seems.
What a delightful group of staff. They are very welcoming and helpful. They all have an air of optimism with a good sense of humour. My Mother moved into Old Sarum Manor at the end of June 2023. She had a bad fall in April. After a stay in hospital and a rehabilitation centre she moved into Old Sarum Manor. Mum is happy with her room with an ensuite. In fact, all the rooms have their own ensuite. They even have a room with a bath if someone prefers a bath. The rooms are light and airy. The building is only three years old and purpose-built with all mod cons. Mum is happy being at Old Sarum Manor which in turn makes me feel happy and confident that she is in the right care home!
We visited our friend who is a resident in this home on Tuesday 12th September. Our first impressions on entering the reception area were of a modern, light and spacious residence. Our friend's room, which had an en-suite shower room and toilet. was also very light and airy. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and all the staff very welcoming and friendly. It is certainly somewhere we would choose for ourselves should the need arise.
Our mother moved into respite care in January this year after a nasty fall and a turbulent couple of weeks involving tests and help at home. Initially, it was thought that a short period involving 24-hour care was required but we extended the stay for another few weeks. Within a short period of time, our mother improved tremendously, settling in, sleeping well for the first time in years, gaining weight and starting to communicate confidently again. She kept saying how safe and relieved she feels, not having to worry about her medication and daily responsibilities. Our mother has moved smoothly into full-time care at Old Sarum Manor which was her decision. She loves all the staff, from carers, managers, cleaners and kitchen workers, who always have time for a chat and hug. There is a general air of positivity and friendships are forged amongst residents.
Following the death of my father, my stepmother suffered a somewhat protracted period of hospitalisation, and we were advised that she would not be fit enough to return to her beloved family home and that residential care was needed. We checked out many homes in the Salisbury area, but the Old Sarum Manor was by far the best and most appropriate for her care and well-being. She has wonderful facilities, which are second to none and is extremely comfortable and relaxed in her new surroundings. She has everything she needs and more besides. This has been a traumatic episode in her life, but one which she has adapted to very well through the support she has received from the Old Sarum Manor. The staff are magnificent, and nothing is ever too much for them to assist with. They are warm and friendly and, without a doubt, are prepared to go the proverbial extra mile to ensure the happiness of my stepmother. Without a doubt, this organisation has the right people in the right professions. Well done!
