View Full Details of Sutton Park GrangeGood care was given to my mum, staff were polite, helpful and welcoming. Beautiful home, others who visited also commented on how nice it was and that they would stay there themselves if the need ever arose. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home.
I can't rate Sutton Park Grange highly enough. Although my sister and I were very sad to have to move Dad into a care home it is now a big relief that he is well looked after. He is clean and tidy, has gained weight and settled in well. The home is like a hotel, and smells fresh, but it is the staff who make it extra special. They treat Dad as an individual, with kindness and compassion, going out of their way to help him feel okay. For example, when Dad received a dementia diagnosis and needed to move up to the first floor for more appropriate care, the staff moved him to a room with the same layout as he was used to, so that he wouldn't feel disorientated. Staff seem to genuinely care about Dad and how he's feeling. The atmosphere is positive, friendly and cheerful with a wide range of activities going on. I've also been impressed with the way staff communicate with me and my sister, involving us in reviewing Dad's care plan, and inviting feedback.
The team were wonderful and looked after our family member. She was hesitant to go but she didn't want to leave! She was treated with kindness and love. The food is great, the rooms are lovely and it's very homely.
My mum moved in around the middle of April. She was anxious about leaving her home and moving somewhere new but she couldn't be in a better place. Sutton Grange is more like a hotel than a care home. It looks and smells good and the staff are all really lovely. My mum has always been very creative and a good cook so for her to now have activities to do and quality meals again is great to see. The people running the activities are lovely - often checking if mum wants to join in and knowing her name from the start. It means a lot. I appreciate being sent the activity schedule each week too. Thank you to everyone there. We feel like our mum is safe and well looked after.
The prospect of finding the right Care Home for an elderly relative can be daunting but Sutton Park Grange allays all fears. Initial enquiries led to a very warm welcome and a full tour and explanation of all facilities and wide-ranging socially-based activities with tailored support available around the unique needs of every individual. Our relative was, understandably, apprehensive leaving her life-long home to respite, initially. However the wide-spread friendly and caring support alongside the positive interaction with other residents and a first class staff team overcame any doubts to the extent that our elderly Aunt announced she was becoming a permanent resident and hasn't looked back! To find her well-looked after and in fits of giggles with other residents when we visit is heart-warming. If you need a 24/7 support service for a relative in a modern setting with wonderful facilities and a supportive community, then look no further than Sutton Park Grange.
Making the decision to look for a care home for mom was probably one of the hardest things my sister and I have had to do. Sutton Park Grange was the first on our list to visit. From the moment we entered the home we were both so impressed with the atmosphere the staff and the facilities. Sitting talking with a team member although emotional gave us lots of insight especially regarding their knowledge in dementia care but being the first home we wanted to have a look at a few others to make an informed choice. Nothing else came close. Moving mom in was traumatic but we were all so supported by every member of the team each day became that bit easier. We took advice on when to visit, what to bring and how to behave without this I am not sure what we would have done. Mom is now unrecognisable she has made friends, looks so healthy, takes part in numerous activities and seems to have settled really well. Thank you for taking such exceptional care of our mom.
My father came to the care home for 3 weeks respite care while I was away. He didn't like the idea at all as he usually lives independently but he enjoyed the experience and was very well looked after. The only negatives were the lack of other men he could talk to, the evening meal being too early for him at 5:30. He would have liked a phone in his room we could have reached him on and access to sky sport but overall a very positive experience, thank you.
I was in Sutton Park Grange a few weeks ago for respite care. I can only speak most highly of the experience. All the staff were kind and helpful at all times, obviously well trained. The food was good and there were activities every morning and afternoon which is essential for socialising. I would recommend it without question.
The resident continues to complain about the small size of the meals.I have spoken to management about this issue and there was an improvement but it seems to have fallen away again. My main concern is the failure of the home to administer prescribed medication on Monday 10th March. The resident rang me at approximately 7pm to say that she had not been given any of her medication on that day.She was breathless on the phone and said she felt really ill She said she had asked for her tablets and been told that they had not come .I rang the home at about7.40 pm and complained and asked them to rectify the situation. The resident rang me on the 11th at 10am to tell me she had just been given her medication. She was still breathless and I suggested she stayed in bed as she said she had not slept much. The resident has atrial fibrillation and high blood pressure and ensuring that she receives her prescribed medication is an essential component of her care.
Choosing a permanent residential care home for mom, who has Alzheimer's, is definitely up there with the most difficult decisions we have ever had to take. We viewed many homes, but from the first time of visiting we were impressed with the level of professionalism, support, understanding and services being provided. There is a genuinely caring atmosphere, a respect for all the residents and understanding of what the whole family is going through. The facilities are well maintained and have the feel of a luxury hotel, whilst being safe, secure and fit for purpose. To our surprise and great pleasure we have just found out our 82 year old mom has a talent for drumming something she has never done in her life!
Dad has now had several respite stays at Sutton Park Grange over the past few months, and what a wonderful place it is! The decor and ambience are incredible, but the staff are even better. The menu is varied and tasty, there are plenty of things to get involved in daily if you wish, but with the rooms as plush as they are, spending time catching up on your favorite TV in your room is also a good option. Dad is very impressed with Sutton Park Grange, so we can't recommend it enough!
Dad was just in for a couple of weeks respite on the Ground floor. He settled in well assisted by the fact that he is already very familiar with everyone there as Mum is a permanent resident on the upper floor. The staff were all great as usual and made him feel very at home.
I have been here as a friend/companion of a resident. The attention and care I have witnessed is excellent. Being away from one's home could not be better replaced then at Sutton Park Grange. Attention to detail and quality of the surroundings is second to none. Staff at all levels are kind, approachable and willing to help whenever needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sutton Park Grange to potential residents.
Mom went into Sutton Park Grange for extended respite care after a spell in hospital. Her physical and mental health has greatly improved. She has enjoyed the variety of activities and trips out that the home offers as well as interacting with the carers and other residents. The home is exceptionally clean and offers a wide choice of meals to suit all tastes. All of the staff are very helpful, kind and supportive of mom's needs. I never worry when I leave after a visit. It is a lovely home with well-cared for residents.
Our close friend was a resident in Sutton Park Grange Care Home from January 2024 to December 2024 and throughout his time in this home we found the facilities, service, and residential care given to our friend to be of the highest standard.
Friendly staff, very professional with high standards. Happy my mum is being respected, understood and is settling into her new home. Food is lovely and plentiful. Good activities and everyone encouraged to join in.
When my friend first went into the home I was worried but to see her to happy and well looked after has really put my mind at rest. She is stimulated by the numerous activities, every effort is made to include all the residents where possible. Staff are friendly and inviting, always ready to help, offering advice and support where necessary. A lovely friendly environment.
My mum had respite care for 5 weeks at Sutton Park Grange. From the beginning, everything was absolutely wonderful. The home itself is 5-star looking. But what makes Sutton Park Grange spectacular is the staff. From all, nothing is too much trouble and always on hand for assistance. I would like to thank them all for taking great care of my mum. Wonderful and would highly recommend it. Thank you.
The care home itself is beautifully decorated with lovely rooms. It has lovely friendly staff however the service to this service user was only adequate as carers did not listen to her requirements, i.e. did not administer medication on time, and her requests were ignored. The food was only adequate, small portions, only lukewarm and again carers did not always serve up the full menu i.e. starter, main, sweet. At times she only received one course. Carers seemed to forget about her. Also when requests were made for a hot drink they appeared to have forgotten about her. Also on one occasion she requested an early shower and was told she couldn't have one as the carer finished her shift at 8 am. This was 6:30 am. This is an expensive care home and in my opinion should provide a much better attitude towards their residents.
The welcome we received when viewing was amazing. The leadership/admission team did everything to make Mum feel like an individual and accepted. Adaptations were made to suit her needs and I could not have asked for anything more.
