View Full Details of Lakelands LodgeDad has been here since May 2025. The staff are lovely, very helpful, courteous and very caring towards are residents. Dad developed swallowing and eating issues and the kitchen staff were amazing. Whatever dad wanted he was given. Especially all the delicious, nutritious soups on offer.
My mum is very well cared for at Lakelands, she loves the staff and they all love her. All in all I am very happy with the care she receives.
My auntie and sister-in-law are both in the home are happy. The activities are second to none.
As soon as you walk through the front door you can feel the lovely atmosphere and friendliness. Each member of staff has a smile and says hello. My husband has good days and bad days, but no matter what he is well looked after. The entertainment manager came and talked to us to see what my husband liked. The choice of food is good. I can not fault the home. I am so glad my husband is in Lakeland Lodge.
My husband has been at Lakelands Lodge now for 12 months after a few weeks he settled down and now feels part of Lakelands family. The staff are very caring + nothing's too much trouble for them. The events coordinator team are excellent in organising parties-sing a long - entertainment by outside groups. Always something to keep the residents entertained. I would recommend Lakelands Lodge to friends.
Residents seem happy + settled. Staff are in general very nice. I am very comfortable for my relative to be in your care.
Mum has been made welcome and comfortable from day 1, all staff have made her transition very easy and she loves being here, which has really surprised all of us. Staff are always available to ask if any questions regarding mums welfare. Mum loves all the activities this makes her time living here all the more special.
I find all staff very kind, friendly, caring and approachable. The staff go the extra mile and make sure the residents are well looked after and cared for. Thank you!
We came to visit and Lakelands Lodges had arranged a birthday party for our resident. We all sat outside and had a lovely time as the residents had a nice sing-a-long . A cake was made and our resident had a lovely time.
The home is lovely and staff go above and beyond. Dad is very settled and happy which makes everyone happy as originally dad didn't like the idea of going in a home. The rooms are homely and all the food excellent. The entertainment has been fantastic getting him involved. A big thank you to management and staff.
In the beginning, my aunt wasn't too sure as she was living independently and found it hard to accept help from strangers. As time went by she became to realise the staff were here to help her and make her stronger, and they certainly did. The once strangers have become family. Not only to Aunty, also to her extended family. Brilliant staff, unfortunately I can't use names, however, they will know who they are.
The care that my sister received whilst being really poorly with a badly infected leg. Whoever I put my concern to was very 'up' with the situation. Always helpful to me with many of my questions. I much appreciate all the care that she received by the 2nd floor staff. (Blackbeard) floor.
A very good place, with staff and excellent care for my father.
I am very happy with the care that Mum gets here. The staff are all great and take such good care of her. The activities put on brighten up her day and she enjoys a sing-song in the lounge with everyone.
Since my brother-in-law was admitted to Lakelands Lodge we have been most impressed with the overall standard of his accommodation, the care he has received and his medical assistance. The staff have gone out of their way to settle him into the home. We have always found them to be cheerful, polite and helpful and the home is always spotless. We feel he is fortunate to be in such a caring establishment.
Often taken out into the community in my wheelchair with a member of staff and usually another resident. Plenty to do, also with music and karaoke. People will visit the home and entertain the residents who really enjoy their visit. Today I was taken to church (23/07/2024) for communion with a member of staff and another resident and will attend the church on other occasions in the future. Plenty to do in the month. Very pleased with the care I receive.
Lovely clean home, the staff is friendly and helpful and always there for you, my mum looks clean and tidy all the time. Chat with other resident's relatives. Activitities always involve my mum in their day-to-day role.
I visit my relative once a week as I don't live in the area. Over a number of weeks, I found soiled/dirty clothing in his bedroom drawers. A week ago I found a large number of clothes in the drawer (shirts/pants/underwear) dirty and unwashed. These were not from one day but several days. There was also a faeces stain on the bedcover. I informed staff who agreed that at 1:30 pm in the afternoon this should not be the case. I complained but to date have not had any explanation or apology. My poor review for cleanliness is based on this experience.
Having had a parent in a previous care home which was a converted residence, therefore not fit for purpose. Here being purpose-built, it's airy, easy to move around and a fabulous location with sea views. The staff are very friendly and approachable (with one or two exceptions!) the social events are well if not excellently organised, full of fun, music and laughter. I have downgraded my rating for cleanliness due to the amount of soiled clothing found in the resident's room.
Very good care of my mother we would not have wanted her to be anywhere else. Very good facilities, excellent care and conscientious staff, always willing to help with a smile. Ice cream on hand any time of the day. Shame my mam could not appreciate the views.
