I cannot praise this care home highly enough. From the management to all the staff, your care is exemplary knowing my mum is getting looked after so well and is in the safe care of the home, is both heartwarming and gives us all peace of mind. You show mum love, compassion, dignity and nothing we ask
of you is any bother. We, as a family, thank every single member of staff from the bottom of our hearts.

My dad needed to move into 24 hour care as he was unable to continue living at home. As a family we are so pleased that dad has settled in so quickly. The activities coordinator make sure there is plenty going on every day. The staff have been wonderful and I would recommend Lakelands to anyone.

Dad has been here for about 3 weeks, so far his time has been settled, the staff are friendly and always happy to help. The nurses are good, and helpful knowing what to do when situations arise. The food has been lovely and looks appetising my dad going back for more. The views are amazing and the activities
are engaging and the staff go beyond to deliver them.

My husband has a Birthday in March and LLL gave him a lovely party full of music which he loves, a beautiful Birthday cake and presents. Last year when he was so ill we never thought he'd celebrate another Birthday. The care he receives at LLL is good and caring. The day after his Birthday we celebrated
our anniversary I arrived to be presented with flowers and also an anniversary cake which was a lovely surprise. Ten followed a meal for the two of us. The staff go the extra mile. Well done LLL, I've recommended you to family and friends.

My mum has been in Lakeland's Lodge for four years now, and is constantly telling me how happy she is. The staff are very hardworking, friendly and caring, and frequently go out of their way to make things special for the residents. Mum hasn't got much of an appetite but I was invited to a Mother's
Day meal recently and the roast dinner was definitely restaurant quality.
There are activities planned most days (possibly every day?) and the staff running them are amazing with their energy and enthusiasm. It's clear to see the residents enjoy them.
There have been a few hiccups along the way with mum, mainly in regard to communication
(and not affecting mum, but me) Hopefully these are now being ironed out since the home was taken over by a new company. I really can't fault the staff that I come into contact with when I visit mum. They have a laugh and a joke with her and she really loves this.
The building is light and airy and mum's room is the same. Overall, an excellent choice.
Reply from Andria Smith, Manager at Lakelands LodgeThank you for taking the time to complete a review, Im glad to hear communications improved and as you know my door is always open. it was lovely to see everyone enjoy the event and there are lots more to come.

Dad has been here since May 2025. The staff are lovely, very helpful, courteous and very caring towards are residents. Dad developed swallowing and eating issues and the kitchen staff were amazing. Whatever dad wanted he was given. Especially all the delicious, nutritious soups on offer.

As soon as you walk through the front door you can feel the lovely atmosphere and friendliness. Each member of staff has a smile and says hello. My husband has good days and bad days, but no matter what he is well looked after. The entertainment manager came and talked to us to see what my husband liked.
The choice of food is good. I can not fault the home. I am so glad my husband is in Lakeland Lodge.

In the beginning, my aunt wasn't too sure as she was living independently and found it hard to accept help from strangers. As time went by she became to realise the staff were here to help her and make her stronger, and they certainly did. The once strangers have become family. Not only to Aunty, also
to her extended family. Brilliant staff, unfortunately I can't use names, however, they will know who they are.

The care that my sister received whilst being really poorly with a badly infected leg. Whoever I put my concern to was very 'up' with the situation. Always helpful to me with many of my questions.
I much appreciate all the care that she received by the 2nd floor staff.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.687)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.687) out of 10 for Lakelands Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.687 for Lakelands Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (285 Excellents x 5) + (95 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 393 Ratings = 4.687
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lakelands Lodge is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
